Full-Stock Percussion Rifle by J. Painter.38 cal., 44.5" octagonal barrel signed on top of the barrel John Painter. Nicely engraved lock with screws entering from the lockplate side, unusual designed hammer. Double-set triggers, double-tang screw, brass furniture with engraved hinged rectangular patchbox. Engraved brass toe plate that runs from the toe of buttplate to the triggerguard. Eight engraved silver ovals, four on each side of the stock running parallel with the barrel. Four engraved silver inlays on the left side of stock opposite of the lock. Engraved silver oval on the cheek piece, silver inlay on the comb of stock. Very finely striped curly maple stock with cheek piece and checkered in the wrist. John Painter is listed in American Gunsmiths by Frank Sellers (1983) as a maker from Virginia. Condition: Barrel is smooth with nice dark brown patina with pitting around the percussion bolster and tang. Lock is sharp and crisp with nice dark brown patina. Brass with nice untouched patina. *Belgian Browning Grade I Superposed Over/Under Shotgun20 ga., 26.375" barrels choked F/M, S/N 23546. Blue finish, checkered walnut stocks, RKLT, ST, ejectors; 1961 date of mfg. Condition: Excellent condition with excellent bores. This gun shows very little wear and the metal surfaces retain nearly all of their original blue finish. The wood is very good with a few minor dings and some light scratches running along the comb. This is a clean and collectible Browning.Requires FFL or C&RStarting Price: $750
* Parker Single Barrel C Grade Trap Shotgun12 ga., 32" IM choked barrel, S/N 214934. Blue/case color finish; walnut checkered stocks; LOP is 14.375" over added Jenkins pad; drop at comb is 1.25", drop at heel is 1.75". Condition: Very good condition with an excellent bore. The buttstock is a replacement and the original forearm is cracked on the bottom where it meets the forearm iron. The triggerguard is a replacement and is numbered 2339957. *Parker Double-Barrel Shotgun DHE Grade, Two Barrel Set12 ga., 30" barrels choked F/IM, extra set of 30" barrels choked IM/M, S/N 227485. Blue barrels, case colored receiver, DT, ejectors, splinter fore ends, checkered walnut stocks, 1-1/2 frame, LOP 13.75" over solid rubber pad, drop at comb = 2" and drop at heel = 2.5"; barrels numbered 1 and 2, ivory beads and mid-beads. Condition: Excellent condition with mirror bores. This is a rarely encountered original two barrel set. It retains ca 60% original case colors and the wood rates excellent with only some minor dings and scratches. The number 1 barrels retain ca 85% original blue finish with most wear from thinning where the gun was carried. The number 2 barrels retain ca 98% original blue finish with a small spot of discoloration on the top of the right barrel. The lever remains right of center and the gun is tight on the face. *Parker G Grade Double-Barrel Shotgun12 ga., 30" Damascus barrels choked M/M, S/N 68080. Number 1 frame, DT, splinter forearm, extractors, drop at comb 2.5", drop at heel 3". Condition: Very good condition with very good bores. There is some minor pitting in the barrels, but it will probably polish out. The barrels show most of their Damascus pattern with a mixture of original blue, brown patina, and gun metal gray. The receiver has an added cold blue finish with good case colors on the water table and protected areas. The stocks rate very good to near excellent as refinished and the wood to metal fit is excellent.Starting Price: $500

A mid 19th century tulipwood and ivory cased cylinder forte-piano music box by Ducommun Girod, the base plate stamped `34020` with two section comb playing on a 12 3/4 inch cylinder, the cylinder under a birds eye maple veneered glazed dust lid, the case with a hinged end flap revealing the winding hole, the domed lid with tulipwood crossbanded border and centre rectangular parquetry and ivory inlaid panel over a gilt metal key escutcheon and tulipwood quarter veneered square panels to the front within a tulipwood crossbanded border on gilt metal scroll feet, 51cm wide, 15cm high, 7cm deep Note: Arthur W J G Ord-Hume notes that the first and earliest variation on the simple comb for the musical box was the creation of the forte piano using two combs, the second and shorter one playing softly.
