A mid 18th century brass barrelled flintlock blunderbuss, by Barbar, London, 30¾? overall, slightly swamped 2 stage barrel 15? with Tower private proofs and engraved ?London?, rounded lock with swan neck cock and unbridled frizzen, plate engraved with scrolls and ?Barbar?, pale walnut fullstock with pronounced comb to butt and with brass mounts including military style sideplate and vacant oval escutcheon, with later brass tipped ramrod with concealed worm.
