A French NCO’s helmet of the 2nd Cuirassier Regiment, white metal skull, brass peak binding, ear to ear wreath with grenade to the centre, leather backed chinscales and ear roundels, ornametal comb with Medusa head finial, small “shaving brush” plume in front, plaited black hair falling plume and red, white and blue feather side plume, in similar corded socket, to left, leather liner; sword, with straight fullered blade 35” (small stain at forte), brass semi basket hilt with side loops and 3 sidebars to reinforce knucklebow, stepped pommel, outlined backstrap, wirebound composition grip, in its plated scabbard with single ring and black and gilt sword knot; brass cavalry trumpet by Couesnan, Paris, with red, white and blue end binding and tassels (some wear and dents); and a small archive of material relating to Jean Minier, including a group photo with fellow NCO’s in album, (AF) of regimental photos d 1907, a certificate awarding him the Medaille Militaire for services in WWI, and a higher education
A 19th Century Swiss rosewood and simulated rosewood, ebonised and floral marquetry inlaid cased musical / automaton box, playing eight airs, the brass cylinder striking three bells, flanked by two automaton cloth dolls, the inner lid with original handwritten air sheet, 42 cm wide CONDITION REPORTS Overall wear, scuffs and scratches. Some knocks and chips to edges. Mechanism appears to be very oily and greasy inside when you pull the winding lever nothing appear to happen. All teeth the comb appear to be present although some of the are slightly misshapen. The dolls with some wear, slight deterioration, staining, fading, discolouration. The lid of the box with various scratches and some lifting, cracking and small losses to the marquetry inlay. All the sides of the box are faux rosewood (painted effect), top appears to be rosewood veneered. Edges of lid and the interior are ebonised. It is not known whether or not it is complete nor whether in working order. A few old woodworm holes and some losses to the stringing / inlay.

A pair of late Georgian cut glass whisky tumblers with basal panel cutting and ground pontils, 9.9cm. high; together with a Georgian blown moulded glass tumbler, with wrythen moulded lower bowl with comb flute cutting above, on a moulded spiral rosette foot, probably Irish, 8.8cm. high; a Georgian rummer with blown petal moulded bowl with etched floral band and drawn stem, on a plain foot with pontil, 13.1cm. high, flake inside rim; and a late Georgian rummer with panel cut bucket bowl, blade knop stem and plain foot with ground pontil, 12.8cm. high.
