5th-9th century AD. A mixed group of bone items comprising: a handle with ribbed sections; a lucet with octagonal head; a two-sided comb; a tag with ring-and-dot detailing; a spoon with teardrop bowl; a D-section handle with hatched ornament; a tag with lateral notches; a small lucet; three tongue-shaped plaques (weaving batons?). 114 grams total, 4-16cm (1 3/4 - 6 1/4"). Ex European collection; acquired 1970s. [11, No Reserve] Fair condition.
1st-2nd century AD. A bronze Romano-British peacock figurine with trefoil comb, piriform body, stub legs, flat rump with stud for attachment of a separate tail; discoid recesses to the body, eyes and comb to accept iridescent glass inserts. 48 grams, 67mm (2 3/4"). Ex Cotton collection; found Alton, Hampshire, 1978. Very fine condition.
8th-10th century AD. A flat-section bronze plaque with ribbed median panel, each short edge with openwork scroll terminating in an opposed pair of bird-heads with pellet eyes and notched comb; five fixing studs to the reverse. 12 grams, 43mm (1 3/4"). Property of a London businessman, from his grandfather's collection formed after World War II; thence by descent, 1972. [No Reserve] Very fine condition.
9th-11th century AD. A carved bone comb formed as a discoid handle with concentric incised circles and central hole, flared shoulders, rectangular body with ropework panel and central ring-and-dot, coarse-cut teeth to the lower edge. 18 grams, 95mm (3 3/4"). Private collection, North London; acquired in the early 1980s. Extremely fine condition.
A Fine Yew-wood Comb-back Windsor Armchair. The shaped cresting rail above a tall shaped centre splat with fretted decoration flanked by four long spindles either side with five further underarm spindles and bent-wood end supports. The elm seat on cabriole legs united by a turned H-stretcher and terminating with pad feet, 46 ins (117 cms) high, 24 ins (61 cms) wide.
A Small 19th Century Child's Primitive Comb-back Armchair. The bowed top rail mortised through with four long stick spindles; the outer two piercing through shaped arm rests with further underarm spindles and tapered end supports leading down to the D-shaped plank seat and on to form the front legs. The short rear legs mortised and wedged through the seat, 22½ ins (57 cms) high, 18 ins (46 cms) in width.
A silver milk jug, with partly fluted decoration, raised on four feet, London 1902 and five small silver trophy cups, in a variety of designs, combined weight 367 gms, a silver handled shoe horn, a silver mounted comb, Birmingham 1899, a silver mounted hair brush, Birmingham 1910, a mirror and a spoon.

Swiss musical box by Karrer-Hoffman, 6936, playing eight airs on a 28cm barrel and single piece comb, in a rosewood effect case with inlaid floral lid, overall length 51cm.
