Gordon Bennett 1903. A lady's travelling vanity case by Steele & Co. Birmingham, the lid opening to show a silk lining (in need of delicate care) the front opening to reveal gilt-coloured accoutrements to include a folding mirror, comb, brushes, scissors, button hook, thimble and bobbin etcetera. The applied insignia stating, 'Gordon-Bennett Trophy Ireland 1903'. 9 x 7 x 4-inches. AF.
WW2 Soviet Russian SSh-36 Steel Combat Helmet, very good example of the SSh-36 pattern steel helmet retaining much of its original green combat paint finish to the exterior of the shell. Short comb to the crown of the helmet. Interior retains the original oil cloth sweatband and cloth lining. Original chinstrap attached to the shell. Some ink stampings to the inside of the shell. A good example of a now hard to find steel helmet from WW2.
French Mounted Gendarmerie Dress Helmet, fine pre-WW1 dress helmet in the form of brass shell with makers stamp to the reverse, nickel silver trim to the shell. Central helmet plate with fused grenade to the centre. Nickel plated comb with black brush plume. Scaled leather backed chin scales with lion head side bosses. Side plume socket with blue over red feather plume. Interior of the helmet with leather liner system. Generally good condition example.
A PARCEL-GILT AND SILVERED COPPER-ALLOY REPOUSSE COMB TOP, TANG DYNASTYChina, 618-907. The gilt upper section of the comb is decorated in repousse with stylized birds of paradise flying amidst blossoms reserved in a ring-punched ground with floral medallions. The copper-alloy has a fine, naturally grown patina with malachite, cuprite, and azurite encrustations.Provenance P.C. Lu Works of Art Ltd, Hong Kong. From a private collection in the northeastern United States, acquired from the above. Started as a small business in January 1976 in Hong Kong, selling Chinese antiques, P.C. Lu was able to scale operations, eventually sending his son Fred to the MIT to pursue his PhD. An ash comb back armchair, 19th c, shaped cresting above a spindle back, scroll arms, H-stretcher, 110cm h, a vernacular oak chair, 18th c, vasular splat, panelled seat, bobbin-turned fore-stretcher, towel rail, etc., (7) The armchair re-varnished, some of which is unevenly worn and scratched in places, and encrusted with grime in places, otherwise structurally sound. The side chair with old repairs, some light losses, and signs of former worming in places. The rest in mixed, but generally good condition.

Beautiful detailed composition in this cast metal relief sculpture with brown patina designed by Art Nouveau and Art Deco master craftsman Rene Lalique. The design for a hair comb represents three beautiful female faces whose entwined locks of hair wrap around the comb. The comb is raised from the surface with a protruding rectangle that serves as a base. This exceptionally crafted quality piece was acquired directly from the private collection of the descendants of Rene Lalique. Nicole Freres: A Swiss inlaid rosewood music box, circa 1856-57Of rectangular outline, the top inlaid with a marquetry panel of scrolling foliage, the movement stamped Nicoel Freres and numbered 33525, playing eight airs from range number 1485, with winding key.43cm wideFootnote:Nicole Frères were recognized makers of quality musical boxes in Geneva, Switzerland. They were established 1815 and continued in production until 1881 when the business closed on being purchased by a Mr. Charles Brun and transferred to London. Over the years the Geneva business produced some 48,000 cylinder musical boxes, the exact number is not known.Condition:The case has been professionally and sensitively cleaned and restored. There are four small areas of fill to the marquetry panel. Small chips to the base of the case at the back adjacent to the right 'foot'. Movement winds, runs and cycles through the airs. The comb is in good order with evidence of five teeth being replaced. The music card is intact, in original condition with some creasing to the top left corner.
A french cameo hair comb, with the French 1798-1809 silver hallmarks of the Cockerel, makers mark JA. Three cameos are set to the chased ground, two with cherubs the middle one with Psyche nursing Cupid, each set in black enamelled frames to the tortoiseshell comb. Dimensions 11.5cm x 8cm, weight 45gms Condition Report:slight lifting of the sandwich layers of metal, tortoiseshell & pitch or other sticky substance that holds it all together... a small rivet to that corner would sort it out as it pushes back together fine, overall dusty. Central cameo has a bit of damage, whether this was prior to manufacture I can't tell as it looks like the voids were filled with a black substance to disguise this? One small chip to the tines of the comb.
