Lot 390

Winchester Royal Irish Constabulary 1897 12 bore pump action shotgun LICENCE REQUIRED Winchester Royal Irish Constabulary 1897 pattern 12 bore pump action three-shot shotgun, 26inch barrel, with 1/4 choke, London proof marks for 2 3/4" shells, the receiver stamped with Enfield inspection mark, the stock stamped 'RIC 780' serial number E719963 for 1922/ 23. The magazine tube has a 1990 Birmingham magazine restriction proof stamp.UK SHOTGUN LICENCE OR RFD REQUIRED14" LOP The Winchester pump action has a few professional repairs to the butt stock. There is a pinned repair along the bottom of the butt. There is also a wood pinned repair to the top of the stock at the wrist joint and two pieces spliced in at the bottom of this area. Extra images have been uploaded online showing this. The forend has some splits which look to have been stabilized with glue. There is a dark line on top of the comb of the butt which looks like an oil stain. The action functions correctly with snap caps. The bore has a fair amount of pitting marks which are probably too deep to polish out. These are mostly within the second half of the barrel towards the muzzle. The metalwork has a fair amount of original blue however this is wearing through in places, especially on the barrel, magazine tube, and top parts of the receiver.

Lot 457

Krieghoff 12 bore model 32 over and under shotgun LICENCE REQUIRED Krieghoff Model 32 12 bore over and under shotgun, 29 inch barrels with full and 3/4 chokes, satin white finished action engraved with game birds and scrollwork, serial number 9292.UK SHOTGUN LICENCE REQUIRED TO BUY THIS LOT.14.25" LOP The shotgun is in good general condition showing light signs of use. The bores are bright and shiny,  they measure to their 18.30 and 18.40 proof stamps. There is no pitting to the bores and there are no dents or marks to the exterior of the barrels. The barrels are tight on the action with no wobble when the forend is removed. The action functions correctly with snap caps. The stock has very minor marks but no splits or repairs. There is a dark stain line to the comb probably from cleaning fluid running out of the action. The rubber but pad is scruffy and the gun would look better if this is replaced.

Lot 51

Austrian .54 Lorenz rifle and bayonet Austrian .54 Lorenz rifle, type 2 by Fred Fruwirth, 37 inch octagonal to round four groove rifled barrel fitted with folding leaf sight, the lock plate stamped 862 for 1862, the beech stock carved with cheek rest. Together with a correct pattern quatrefoil bayonet. The Lorenz rifle was the third most common rifle musket used in the US Civil War being imported by both Union and Confederate armies. Section 58 (2) Antique / obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence. Buyer must be over the age of 18, age verification will be required if the lot is to be posted out.134.5cm long The rifle is in average condition. The bore has some scattered pitting patches which are relatively light but still just too deep to polish out. The pitting is mainly in the grooves but in one place stretches across to the land. The action works correctly with a strong spring. The metalwork has some scattered pitting patches throughout. The stock has some filled areas to the comb of the butt. There are lots of other dents and marks typical of a military rifle but no splits or repairs other than that mentioned.

Lot 64

Williams and Powell double 10 bore side by side percussion shotgun Williams and Powell double 10 bore side by side percussion shotgun, 30-inch Damascus barrels engraved with 25 South Castle Street Liverpool address, platinum breech plugs, the metalwork engraved with scroll work except for the lock plates which are left unfinished.Section 58 (2) Antique / obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence. Buyer must be over the age of 18, age verification will be required if the lot is to be posted out.120cm longThe gun is in reasonable condition. The bores have some light pitting marks but are generally fair in condition. The exterior of the barrels have some scattered pitting marks mainly around the breech and muzzle areas, the right tube has a dent to the top 6 inches from the muzzle. The rest of the metal work has light peppered pitting, there are scratch marks to the locks which work correctly with strong mainsprings. Some of the screws show signs of being worked and the gates are a bit distorted. The stock has some dents scratches and marks throughout, there are slightly deeper dent marks within the chequering of the forend. The butt has been expertly been lengthened, there are very short splits to the thin splice of wood that has been added in. The piece of wood let into the top tang area of the comb of the butt is a lot longer than the present steel butt plate tang. This suggests that the butt plate has been replaced at the time of lengthening the stock. The steel butt plate has the same patina as the rest of the gun which implies that if it is a replacement, it has been with the gun for most of the shotgun's working life. There is short hairline crack to the horn end cap, it is however stable and not showing signs of this being too detrimental.
