A 17TH CENTURY GERMAN MORION OF THE MUNICH TOWN GUARD, characteristic two-piece skull with exaggerated tall raised comb polished and with blacked gutter, downswept shallow brim, the whole with turned edges, the base of the skull with twelve lining rivets, the whole with later blackened finish and decorated to either side with mirrored fleur de lys within stylized acanthus border.
A George V Enamelled Silver Dressing-Table Service, by Henry Matthews, Birmingham, 1927, each piece with blue guilloche enamel over a wavy ground, comprising: a box, the inside of the hinged cover with a mirrror, 9.5cm diameter; a facetted glass bottle, 17.5cm high; a hair-brush; a clothes-brush; a hand-mirror; a comb; a shoe-horn; a button-hook; a manicure set; a timepiece, apparently unmarked; a crocodile jewellery box and a crocodile desk blotter, all in a fitted crocodile case; Together With: a pair of similar candlesticks, by A L Davenport Ltd., Birmingham 1930. Overall there is some surface scratching and wear as well as some loss and scratching to the enamel. The case has some scratching and staining to the material inside. The candlesticks: There are some bruises to the edges of the bases. There is a bruise to the nozzle on one. The circular box: the enamel is generally intact but with some scratches. The timepiece: possibly silver plated and not solid silver as it is unmarked. There are areas of loss to the enamel. The mechanism is not currently working. The hand-mirror: the marks are rather worn. The mirror plate has some scratching and minor marks. The smaller implements: there is some corrosion to the metal mounts. The brushes: some wear and damage to the bristles on the brushes.

Long rectangular glass jar with a few slight pin head sized nicks to the glass but nothing serious. The enamel is okay, the silver with light tarnishing. The hand held mirror with several small scratches to the mirror plate. General tarnishing to the silver and some light scratches to the silver. Rubbing to the hallmarks. Enamel lightly grubby and with some light surface scratches and general patina. The shorter of the slender glass jars also with a couple of very slight pin head sized nicks to the faceting but nothing serious. Hallmarks lightly rubbed, silver with light tarnishing and a few light scratches. Enamel with a few light surface scratches. Small rectangular lidded glass box with light wear to the underside of the glass base. Silver with light tarnishing and a few light scratches. Enamel with a few very light surface marks, but essentially okay. The rectangular scent bottle with circular cover does have a stopper, this item does have a couple of slight little pin head nicks to the glass, nothing serious. The interior with some dark staining from previous perfume. There are three small chips to the enamel on the top edge and two smaller ones near to the hallmarks, these are all fairly small. Widest of the glass bottomed toilet jars also with a few pin head sized nicks to the glass. Silver lightly tarnished. Enamel with slight surface patina, but essentially okay. The button hook with some rusting and tarnishing to the hook section. Silver surface lightly tarnished. Enamel with two very slight nicks at the edge. The shoe horn with light surface patina to the horn section, light tarnishing to the silver, there may be a repair to the widest part of the join where the shoe horn section is attached to the handle. Enamel with a couple of slight little edge chips, nothing serious.

Adalberto von Savoyen-Genua (1898 - 1982) ging als Soldat zur italienischen Armee. Im Ersten Weltkrieg kämpfte er an der Front. Danach fand seine militärische Karriere zwischen Italien und Italienisch-Ostafrika statt. Im Oktober 1924 erfolgte die Beförderung zum Oberstleutnant. Von 1927 bis 1930 besuchte er eine Militärschule für Generalstabsoffiziere. Im März 1929 wurde er Oberst. Er kommandierte von 1931 bis 1934 das 3. Kavallerieregiment Savoia Cavalleria. Am 1. März 1934 wurde er zum Brigadegeneral befördert. Er war 1934 bis 1935 Kommandeur der 6. Infanteriebrigade. Vom September 1935 bis zum Februar 1936 war er stellvertretender Divisionskommandeur der 24. Infanteriedivision Gran Sasso im Abessinienkrieg. Er wurde im Februar 1936 zum Generalmajor ernannt. Er bekam mit der Beförderung zunächst das Kommando der 24. Infanteriedivision Gran Sasso. Im Juli 1936 folgte das Kommando der 58. Infanteriedivision Legnano. Am 15. März 1938 erfolgte seine Beförderung zum Generalleutnant. Er bekam später bis zum 10. September 1939 das Kommando über das 3. Korps Milano. Am 14. Dezember 1939 ernannte man ihn zum General. Als Italien in den Zweiten Weltkrieg eintrat, wurde er Kommandeur der 8ª Armata (8. From a member of the Royal House of Italy extremly rare. Adalberto of Savoy-Genoa (1898 - 1982) joined the Italian army as a soldier. He fought at the front in the First World War. Afterwards, his military career took place between Italy and Italian East Africa. In October 1924, he was promoted to lieutenant colonel. From 1927 to 1930 he attended a military school for general staff officers. He became a colonel in March 1929. He commanded the 3rd Cavalry Regiment Savoia Cavalleria from 1931 to 1934. He was promoted to brigadier general on 1 March 1934. He was commander of the 6th Infantry Brigade from 1934 to 1935. From September 1935 to February 1936 he was deputy divisional commander of the 24th Infantry Division Gran Sasso in the Abyssinia War. He was appointed Major General in February 1936. He was initially given command of the 24th Infantry Division Gran Sasso with the promotion. This was followed in July 1936 by the command of the 58th Infantry Division Legnano. On 15 March 1938, he was promoted to lieutenant general. He was later given command of the 3rd Corps Milano until 10 September 1939. On 14 December 1939, he was appointed General. When Italy entered the Second World War, he became commander of the 8ª Armata (8th Army, 1940-1942) and in 1943 of the 7ª Armata.
Fantastic and unique Swiss music box with 24 interchangeable cylinders. In all our 40 years of involvement in mechanical musical instruments we never had or seen a music box with that many cylinders. This music box by Samuel Troll & Fils, Geneva, from around 1875 was definitely made for Royalty. It was sold for a huge fortune at the time and it can be bought for a small fortune now. 144 tunes playing wonderful music on a single comb movement.
