Benjamin B. Green-Field (American, 1898-1988). Bes-Ben "The Mad Hatter of Chicago" felt fur hat with painted and gilt leather adornments surrounded by netting. Marked along the interior with a Bes-Ben tag and stamped "Le Grand Merrimac." There is a metal comb affixed along the interior to allow for a more secure fit to the hair.Height: 5 in x width: 9 1/2 in x depth: 9 1/2 in.

Lining original but in slightly tired condition. Comb intact. Main spring broken.

Rest of case scratched.Movement appears to work ok, but background squeeking and the stop lever does not work and nor does the change lever. Comb and cylinder look ok.
