German WW1 1918 Imperial German Air Service Issue Flying Helmet. a good rare example, of the issue pattern worn by pilots and observers of the Imperial German Air Service during the Great War. Black leather skull with protective comb running from front to back across the crown, with similar band around the edge. Complete with fold down neck flap (dated 1918) with integral earpieces and chin strap. Liner present but fragile to parts, wear to the rear flap, this with faint 1918 issue stamp
A musical dressing table / sewing set in the form of a grand piano, c1850. The lid decorated with a scene from a French music room, applied decoration to all sides. The piano is mounted on turned wooden legs and has a fitted interior with silk lining and mirror to lid. When the internal tray is removed the musical movement is visible with sectioned comb in groups of seven teeth with hand-painted cover. By repute, this item belonged to the Coates family of Paisley
