Good quality 19th century Swiss music box by Eugene Bornand, signed and numbered 3761, in rosewood case with brass inlay, large winding key and small lock key. Lunch of the comb 33cm, length of the cylinder 33cm. Overall size of the case 54cm wide x 22.5cm deep x 16cm highCondition report: There is no tune card with the box. The case requires some attention, some of the brass stringing and inlaid decoration is missing. Some of the missing pieces are present. The hinge on the side door is partially broken. The box winds up and appears to play well with no missing or damaged pegs noted. Cylinder approximately 8cm in diameter.
An early 20th Century Symphonion, the walnut case 45cm wide and with an album of twelve discs CONDITION REPORT: The Symphonion is in working order but the arm is a little loose on the 27cm discs resulting in missing notes, the movement is twin comb and there are three teeth and tooth tips missing from the right hand comb. The case has minor scratching and other abrasions and the wooden platform is missing a screw. The book of 12 discs is complete, all discs tarnished.
A 19th Century Swiss musical box with drum and four bells, struck by a pair of polychrome Mandarin automata playing 10 airs on 38cm cylinders and 86 tooth triple comb no. 38001, with type sheet to the cover reverse, contained in an inlaid rosewood case, 65.5cm wide/see illustration CONDITION REPORT: This musical box is probably a marriage, the music sheet is attached but other pins remain and the suspension has been lowered to fit the bells and figures, please see additional images. The start/stop lever needs attention, when going ball, bells and the drum work including Mandarin nods, hammers need adjusting for greater clarity of sound and the drum hammers are touching vellum, teeth and tooth tips appear good.

An extensive Art Deco silver and pale blue guilloché enamel dressing table set, Adie Brothers, Birmingham 1932, comprising pair of hairbrushes, pair of clothes brushes, pair of cut glass scent bottles, cut glass powder jar, hand mirror, pair of circular boxes, an easel back bedside clock, ashtray, comb, shoehorn, button hook, scissors and a nail file/see illustration CONDITION REPORT: Overall good appearance. One hairbrush has some chipping to enamels at corners, other has a small chip to one corner. One clothes brush has small flat chip to enamel edge. Other very minor flat chips to enamel on a few pieces like the circular boxes but it is hard to say if this is damage or a manufacturing issue. Mirror good. I am not sure I have ever seen a set this extensive in such good condition.

A Thames Valley Style Ash and Elm Windsor Armchair, the comb shaped top rail above a solid splat with moulded seat, on cabriole legs joined by an H stretcher and terminating in pad feet, the underside of the seat stamped T5962, 66cm by 42cm The chair is structurally sound. Back support curved section with gap in joints but structurally OK. Moulded seat with some deep scratches and small split to front rail. Numerous scuffs around the legs consistent with age.

A similar volume was sold in these rooms on 30 January 2019 (lot 27), containing 16 lithographs of trees from the 'Ile Maurice' series, and 20 lithographs of fruits; the present volume contains four tree plates (Cocoa-nut tree, Tree firn, Red Malartic Plantain, Young filaos) and five fruit plates (Alligator pear, Sapodilla, Coco-nut, Queen's Apple, Sour sop) not in that copy. Another set of the 'Ile Maurice' series, with 16 plates, appeared in Paris in 2008 (Kahn-Dumousset, 4 April 2008, lot 18). There was an exhibition of Pitot's work at the National History Museum of Mauritius in 2018, and Richard is identified as leading figure among the 'accomplished Mauritian artists' who emerged in the second half of the 19th century (Kervern & Martial, Mauritius: 500 Early Postcards, p. 11).
