Aberdeen - a Scottish provincial mounted horn cruet William Dunningham & Company, marked WD&Co, S, 925, comprising open mustard, pepperette and lidded salt, the flared cow horn formed body with simple mounts with silver covers etc, with horn salt and mustard spoons; together with a horn snuff box by the same maker Note: William Dunningham & Company, like many other companies in Aberdeen, made a large amount of mounted horn goods. This was due to the high demand for Scottish souvenirs from the booming tourist industry. Interestingly the horn was supplied from off-cuts and spares from the Aberdeen Comb Works. Their craftsman also helped make some of the more complex items.
