AN EARLY 19TH-CENTURY COUNTER BOX, having four removable lidded compartments each containing mother-of pearl counters, (86 in total), the sides and lids all profusely inlaid en massein a dark wood (probably stained alder) on a ground of lighter wood (probably sycamore) with domestic utensils, agricultural implements, human and animal figures, birds, butterflies, insects, weapons, furniture and much else, in total approximately 135 individual inlays, the borders feathered, on ball feet, 19 x 14 x 4cm high
