There are four holes approx. 3.5 cm diameter to the interior corners, probably for a pole and curtains, the top rear rail which forms part of the canopy has been reduced slightly in length, probably for it to go into a recess or a small room, and is only really noticeable because it is a much lighter colour wood. The interior of the canopy has panelled and pierced decoration, with a few splits, with some minor splits to the front, and general wear as one would expect. From a Somerset country house now undergoing refurbishment. Report by MW Yes, the bed can be taken apart into several sections for transportation.
