From the 11th century onward, they are found in the Levant, especially in Syria and Lebanon, and typically worn by Druze brides. The headdresses in this lot lack the conical shape, showing a greater affinity in style to another Levantine bridal headdress called tarbush. The tarbush was more versatile, usually being formed by a single oval or circular filigree silver disc fastened to the flat surface of a hat and often embellished with coins.Qty: 3
