A unusual Chinese iron red and underglaze blue and white portrait bowl 19th century, the shallow bowl with everted rim and short, circular foot, decorated with a portrait of a swarthy man with hooped earrings and a cloak, the cloak and lips densely painted in iron red, with lighter red painted highlighting to the face and bright green enamelled details, against an underglaze blue stylised wave and cloud ground, the sides decorated with floral and foliate sprays and the foot with dentil decoration, old collection label to base, 8½in. (21.5cm.) diameter. .

An early 20th Century needlework sampler worked in colours depicting alphabet, two storey house, flowers, birds, windmills, by Ethel Thomas November 25th 1905 aged 15, on a dark linen ground, framed and glazed CONDITION REPORTS Very dark brown stained and with some lighter patches. Overall with some fading, wear and some small losses.

(not deciphered) `Victoria Palace London 1952`; together with Royal Variety Performance `Cast of Performance` attended by Patron HM Queen Elizabeth II dated 1952, and with an `Hi-Fi` Cigarette Lighter formerly the property of Sophie Tucker, with manuscript note inscribed `Given to Ivor Silverstone by Sophie tucker and dated 1962.
