World War One Princess Mary Christmas gift tin containing photograph of Princess Mary, and a very rare Asprey tinder lighter, this is stamped with the crown and an 'M' cypher and ' xmas fund 1914' , Asprey London maker mark stamped on the back, also contains a George V cap badge and button to the Royal Engineers and an aluminium dog tag marked 28098 J.F. DANSON who was a Corporal then later 2nd Lieutenant in the 5th Signal Company Royal EngineersThe lighters are one of the rarer items that should have been included with the Christmas gift tins. Asprey & Co was unable to fulfil its contract for half a million lighters as the stones used in them were supplied by companies in Austria. As the war progressed they did not feel inclined to replace supplies when Asprey & Co ran out. Instead replacement items were delivered making the lighters very scarce.
A good collection of 3x vintage Schuco made clockwork model racing cars. All largely near mint to mint. Unboxed, and all in working order. Comprising: 1073 Ferrari Formel 2 (rare presentation cigarette lighter version - non-clockwork) (missing spoiler), 1072 BMW Formel 2, and 1073 Ferrari (works with some encouragement). Great collection, highly detailed. Unboxed, no keys.

[THIRD REICH AVIATION]: MESSERSCHMITT WILLY: (1898-1978) German Aircraft Designer and Manufacturer of, amongst other aircraft, the Messerschmitt Bf 109 which became the most important fighter plane of the Luftwaffe during World War II. Signed 7 x 5 photograph of Messerschmitt in a half length pose with a lit cigarette in one hand. Signed with his name alone to a largely lighter area at the centre of the image. GABLE CLARK: (1901-1960) American Actor, Academy Award winner. A good vintage signed and inscribed 10 x 13 photograph of Gable in a smiling close-up head and shoulders pose wearing a black bow tie. Signed in bold black fountain pen ink to the image, 'To Evelyn, Best of luck always, Clark Gable', largely across a lighter area. Some surface and corner creasing, only very slightly touching the first letter of the signature. G

L.
