John Dalzell Kenworthy (1858-1954), oil painting on canvas, "Turnip Cutting". 88 cm x 105 cm, framed, signed (see illustration). ARR CONDITION REPORT: This picture has not been relined and there are no visible repairs. There is one small paint loss to the sky to the right hand side of the painting which should be visible from our image. There is cracking to the paint surface particularly in the lighter areas of the sky to the right hand side of the tallest boy's head, between the two figures and to the right of the figure holding the turnip. There is a small paint loss to the right hand side of the boy holding the turnip at around waist level. Again this should be visible on our image. There is one further very small hole at the right hand side of the painting approximately 2 inches in from the frame. The painting is not particularly dirty but would probably benefit from some restoration.
A 9 ct gold Dunhill pocket cigarette lighter. Height 42 mm, width 36 mm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: There are small dents to both sides of the case, there are also some minor scratches. The spring to the rear of the lift up arm is slightly weak. The striking mechanism appears to operate as it should. There appears to be some damage to the top of the wick aperture, approximately 20% of this appears to be missing.
