An Minton porcelain tea cup and coffee cup with matching saucers, early to mid 19th century, painted with hand painted floral vignettes within gilt sea scrolls between cream ground crown motifs on a light green ground with moulded rim heightened with gilding, pattern 1941, saucers 14.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The coffee cup is in good with no visible obvious faults, it rings out nicely when lightly tapped. The teacup has very light rubbing to the gilding on the handle. There is a small patch of very fine scratch marks to the interior of the cup just located outside the centre cartouche. There is further lighter surface scratch marks around the green bordering the rim. The gilding on the rim has very light rubbing, the teacup rings out nicely when lightly tapped. Both saucers have very light surface scratches to the green ground but are not overly detrimental. The gilding to the base of each vignette is lightly rubbed. The rim on one saucer is rather rubbed with only 25% of the gilding remaining intact, the centre enamel decoration to this saucer is lightly scratched. The saucer with the excessive gilt rubbing rings out nicely when tapped, the other saucer has a very fine rim to foot rim hairline crack.
Charles Knight (1901-1990), watercolour, "The Harvest". 23 cm x 38 cm, framed, signed, label verso "The Fine Art Society Limited, 1944". ARR CONDITION REPORT: The painting appears to be in generally good condition. We can see no evidence of any foxing, crinkles or creases. We cannot see any visible acid burn. We are familiar enough with the artist to comment on the strength of the colours - it is certainly on the lighter side and maybe a little faded.
A Chinese peach bloom ground vase, 20th century, of ovoid form, with pseudo six character Kangxi marks to the underside, height 9 cm. CONDITION REPORT: This is of recent manufacture and certainly not of the period or even 19th century. The peach bloom glaze is not uniformed throughout and is stronger around the base and is much lighter around the top rim. Using a high powered torch one can see that there are a few very light surface scratches to the body but nothing that is visible to the naked eye. There are no obvious chips, cracks or restorations visible.
