A CHINESE BROWNISH JADE CONG, the exterior carved in relief with the Eight Buddhist Trigrams, the predominantly light brown stone with some darker and lighter markings, Ming, 4.5"" across from corner to corner. Provenance: The Collection of Lt. Col. Digby Willoughby MC, MBE (1934-2007), acquired whilst on active service in the Far East between 1954 and 1975, and thence by descent.
A CHINESE BLACK JADE BI DISC, both surfaces finely incised with archaic scrolls, the central aperture with slightly angled walls and an old collection number (63), one side of the disc with a slightly faceted depression in an area of lighter-toned stone, Shang/Zhou, 3.5"" dia. Provenance: The Collection of Dr. Julian Deveron Redmill (1916-1993), and thence by descent. Probably acquired on the London Art Market in the 1950`s.
A Minaudière, by Van Cleef & Arpels, for Asprey, the oblong case set with rose cut diamonds to the clasp, and initials `PF` set with diamonds, containing a lipstick holder, a lighter set with rose cut diamonds, and a case set with rose cut diamonds, with various other compartments contained, the comb and the compact both missing, contained in a black carrying case, measures 15.2cm by 11.8cm Styptor, an alloy of silver and pewter, was used in the late 1930`s and 1940`s.The inspiration for the Minaudière, one of Van Cleef and Arpels` notable contributions to the history of jewellery design, allegedly came from a meeting between Frances Gould and Charles Arpels. Gould, having left the house in a hurry, put her make-up etc into a metal Lucky Strike cigarette case - the Minaudière was born! (Minaudière - from the verb to simper) This is in reasonable condition. There are missing components as mentioned. The black carrying case is quite worn. It is stamped `LA MINAUDIERE DE VANCLEEF & ARPELS`, `SPECIALLY MADE FOR ASPREY`, and in several place it is stamped `STYPTOR` and `METAL`. It is numbered `42911`. The black carrying case has an internal label marked `ASPREY LONDON`. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; caratweight 3.00, colour I/J/K, clarity SI2/I1/I2. Gross weight 826.6 grams. A mixed collection including silver, comprising: a late George III circular pill box by John Bettridge, Birmingham 1818, bright-cut engraved; two cigarette cases, one by Asprey & Co., Birmingham 1958, presentation engraved and applied with initials; the second by William Neale & Sons, Birmingham 1930, 252g (8.1 oz) the two; a Javanese model of a Kris, stamped script mark, with a carved horn handle; a Japanese rectangular box, mid 20th century, stamped STERLING 950, the cover scroll foliate engraved, wood lined; an Indian circular ashtray, Calcutta early 20th century; a silver plated Dunhill Rollagas lighter and a Dupont silver plated gas lighter, in a box.
Royal Worcester Mottled Blue Shallow Footed Bowl, central roundel of apples and blackberries, signed H.Price, with framework in gilt over pastel pink and green, further gilt motifs and a gilt band to the inside rim; 2.75 inches high x 10.5 in diameter; date marks for 1928 and 2769 to underside (fine crack running from rim to top of roundel frame, some slightly lighter patches to blue interior)

A cloisonn‚ Box and Cover, late 19th century, by Namikawa Yasuyuki, of rounded rectangular form, the sage green and ground with a small bird perched on the branch of a prunus tree, silver mounts, the interior typically bright green, 5 x 6.3 x 2.7cm (2), A very small lighter mark visible on the left edge of the cover but no signs of any damage that may have caused this. No obvious faults.
Two Lonquan celadon dishes, Yuan/early Ming dynasty, each moulded in the centre with a peony within ribs and channelled rim, one cracked, one restored, 27cm (2), Both with surface scratches throughout. The lighter coloured dish with crazing throughout. The darker coloured dish with restoration to rim.
