Man used his lighter to light his cigarettes until he lost it, and then Mother used it to ignite the oil tank after she attacked the people who devoured her child with a shard of glass. This lot consists of a metal Wendehorn lighter with a functional flint and a piece of clear acrylic shaped like a jagged piece of glass. This lot exhibits discoloration, a buildup of grime, and scuffing and scratches on the acrylic. An Italian metalwares silver and enamel powder compact, together with a cigarette lighter, the compact with mark of Ottavia Spinelli, Florence, (1941-1945), shell shaped with lobed edge, hinged cover bordered with faux 'lapis' and 'turquoise' around a central image of a young lady, gilt washed interior with mirror, verso lavishly engraved with foliage and scrolls, the gilt frame with maker's stamp, additionally stamped 800, 9 x 8cm; the lift arm pocket cigarette lighter, circa 1930, decorated with a polychrome enamelled scene of young lovers, with blue enamel and scroll decoration, stamped to the underside MADE IN AUSTRIA STERLING 935 with unidentified maker's mark 4.5 x 3.5cm (2)
Enfield Percussion cavalry carbine, 21 inch sighted barrel, with underside ramrod, the lockplate stamped with crown VR and 1869 date, the stock with saddle ring bar and various military acceptance stamps. Section 58(2) antique / obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence. Buyer must be over the age of 18, photo ID will be required if this lot is to be posted out.93cm long The gun is in outward good general condition but it has had an old refinish during its life. The bore has some heavy pitting marks, the gun is .650 calibre smooth bore. The action works correctly with a strong spring. The stock has quite a few dents, marks and stains. It is a little chewed up around the nose cap by the muzzle. The toe of the stock has a spliced piece, this was probably done during manufacture as several other Enfields have been seen built in this manner. The stock has been refinished, this work has left some of the marks lighter in the stamping than they should be. There is a short crack to the stock emanating out from the lock plate but this looks stable.
Flintlock tinder box lighter, with exposed action and wood pistol grip stock.21cm long The lighter has overall pitting to the metalwork. The action cocks and releases correctly. The grip has a split on the opposite side to the trigger which has been repaired. There are some dents, stains and marks to the woodwork. Some screw heads have been chewed from use.

Minimal glaze, firing faults and crazing in places. One of the pair of mugs with small glaze chip to the rim. Small firing/glaze faults on the leaf yunomi. Small manufacturing flaw to the banded yunomi, very minor near the footrim where the glaze meets the foot, hardly noticable, mentioned only for transparency. Otherwise seems ok.

With a texture effect case, 6.5cm high; in a Dunhill brown leather fitted case Condition Report: Overall in good-very good condition, rarely used. No obvious breakages, dents or significant damage. Some rubbing to the interior of the lid consistent with it being opened and closed. It has no flint and so we are unable to tell if it is functioning however the roller moves smoothly.
