G. Wilkinson, Petworth, in 1999. Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use, Some old splits and cracks and some repairs to the glazing bars,All the other metalware (hinges, locks, handles) appear to be original, There are two keys present with this lot, one is operating the glazed cupboard doors, the lower ones have a key inserted in the lock and is stuck firmly. this may be the right key but the lock is seized and require a good oil, or it may be the wrong lock inserted and stuck - Dreweatts make no guarantees - all elements are open at time of report, there are screws required to fix the top to the base - there are two loose with the cabinet but Dreweatts do not guarantee how good a fit or the overall stability - this would need to be fixed securely before use in a domestic settingThe interior of the top cabinet has had a later backing inserted which has been painted black - presumably to better show off the former contentsThe interior of the lower panel doors is lighter in colour and appears un-polished, it is presumed that the flame veneers to the doors is thin and applied to the thicker planed panels for stability, this is of a differing timber and has been left as something of a feature. This cannot be proved for certain without deconstructing the doorsPlease refer to additional images for visual reference to conditionCondition Report Disclaimer
