Always a rare sight on UK roads, this low-mileage, Scotia White Evo V GSR is offered with a very tempting guide.  Mitsubishi had enjoyed much success in rallying all around the world since 1973 with their Gallant, Lancer and Starion, however in 1992, the decision was made to fully commit to winning the World Rally Championship (WRC). Utilising the best of the technologies established through previous years, including their much refined four-wheel drive S-AWC system (Super-All Wheel Control), the Lancer GSR Evolution model series was launched. True to its name, the series has undergone an ongoing evolution process ever since its introduction, with improvements in engine performance and handling leading to the Evolution II in 1993 and the Evolution III in 1995.Following the introduction of the new Lancer road car model which debuted major improvements in styling and performance, the Lancer GSR Evolution IV was launched in 1996, boasting more power and ever more innovative technology including their new AYC (Active Yaw Control) adaptive handling enhancement system. The Evolution V continued the process with a further increase in engine torque and substantially improved handling thanks to a wider track and upgraded Brembo braking. Its 2-litre, DOHC, intercooler-turbocharged, four-cylinder engine now used an upgraded intercooler, enlarged nozzle area in the twin-scroll turbocharger, lighter pistons, an upgraded radiator and oil-cooler to produce 280bhp. Launched in January 1998 and produced for only a year, the Lancer Evolution V took up the motorsport mantle, at least in terms of the WRC. A new ruling allowing a bigger body gave Mitsubishi the opportunity to extend the previous models platform, increasing brake and wheel size, adding 10mm to its track and displaying, for the first time, flared arches and much more aggressive styling. Its now widely accepted that finding credible examples of the Evolution V is becoming increasingly hard. In Japan, Evos were only produced by the Mitsubishi factory in five basic trims, RS, RS2, GT, GT-A or GSR. This is an exceptionally rare GSR variant, the road-going version of the out and out stripped RS competition edition. Featuring climate-control, electric windows and mirrors, sports seats and alloy wheels, this Scotia White GSR sports the correct Recaro Sports seats and is believed to be one of under 100 produced, making it an exceptionally rare car.Imported from Japan as a Grade 4 car with an impeccable history in 2017, when we understand that that the odometer was converted to miles with certification. It has been within our own vendor's private Collection for the last couple of years. This desirable Evo V comes to sale in superb condition and with such an attractive guide it should readily create a stir amongst JDM collectors.Specification Make: MITSUBISHI Model: EVO V GSR Year: 1998 Chassis Number: CP9A0006060 Registration Number: R583 LVE Transmission: Manual Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 84082 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: GreyClick here for more details and images

Lot 120

Just one previous owner, 28,873 miles from new and finished in the rare colour of Ford Aubergine. The Escort RS Cosworth was an 'homologation special' and its sole role was to incorporate parts that Ford planned to use in their rally cars to ensure success in International Rallying. Because it was smaller, lighter and more nimble than any of the Sierras, the combination of Cosworth power, four-wheel drive transmission and an effective aerodynamic package made it a Rally Giant in all conditions. Success duly followed between 1993 and 1998 in the World Rally Championship for manufacturers, but the road cars were very rare - with just 2,500 'homologation special' versions made, becoming known as 'big turbo cars', all capable of 150mph and easily identified by the aptly named 'Whale Tail' rear spoiler. On offer here is a UK-supplied, right-hand drive Escort RS Cosworth with only one former keeper and 28,873 miles from new at the time of cataloguing. First registered on 31st August 1995, the car is finished in the rare colour of Ford Aubergine with a Recaro trimmed Polaris Hex Upholstery along with deep pile carpets and carpeted door bins.Being a 'Lux', the car is equipped with opening rear quarter windows, electrically operated and heated door mirrors, ‘Quickclear’ heated windscreen, heated washer jets, 3-spoke leather-covered steering wheel, central double locking, tailgate release, lights on warning, rear centre armrest, rear head restraints, electric sunroof, electric windows, with the factory fitted Ford radio cassette alongside the factory upgrade 2040 CD player. It sits on original Ronal soft-spoke 8x16 genuine Ford alloy wheels in excellent condition shod with Toyo Proxie 225/45ZR16 tyres all round. The car was supplied new by Ford RS dealers, Bristol Street Motors in Cheltenham and is complete with its dealer book pack containing the service history as follows:1,870miles - 18-10-19959,511 miles - 15-05-199619,854 miles - 01-03-199724,593 miles - 26-09-2008 including cambelt kit28,824 miles - 14-06-2022The car is accompanied by three keys, including the 'Red' master key, and the aforementioned service history. This is a low ownership, low-mileage example finished in a rare colour and is therefore an opportunity not to be missed.NB; This vehicle will be issued with a fresh MOT prior to the sale.Specification Make: FORD Model: ESCORT RS COSWORTH Year: 1995 Chassis Number: WF0BXXGKABSE95948 Registration Number: N896 PEG Transmission: Manual Engine Number: SE95948 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 28873 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images

Lot 223

The 12th from last produced, fresh to market from long term ownership, an older restoration that is ready to be enjoyed as intended once again. Making its debut in 1957, the Type 14 Elite was the first production sports car that Colin Chapman designed for Lotus Cars. Lotus' design philosophy ran contrary to the prevailing norm, making their cars lighter, more aerodynamic and therefore more nimble, rather than increasing horsepower and weight, enabling Lotus cars to out-handle much more powerful vehicles on track. It was very light, weighing just 630kg and utilised a 'monocoque' construction which meant there was no separate chassis with the body being load-bearing and whilst this was becoming accepted practice, the Elite was the first time it had been attempted in fibreglass. There were only two strips of steel in the car — a strip for the door hinges to attach to and a very small steel frame to which the engine and suspension were attached and when combined with independent sports suspension, a ZF gearbox, disc brakes, the Coventry Climax all-aluminium engine and a very low drag coefficient of just 0.29, it made for a great drivers' car. The first 280 were built by Maximar prior to production transferring to Bristol Aircraft who built a further 750, however the Elite was very expensive to produce, especially the GRP monocoque which was extremely labour-intensive, and it's understood that they lost around £100 on every car with its successor, the Elan, returning to more conventional construction. This particular Elite S2, offered from long term ownership, has been with its present custodian for some considerable time prior to which it had been partially rebuilt due to having being rolled by an exuberant driver testing the Lotus phrase that the Elite was a ‘road-going racer’. A new body was ordered directly from Lotus in 1967/68 and rebuilt with all new glass, frames and bumpers and other associated parts as required. Finished in Lagoon Blue with a Silver Cap and black upholstery, the Elite has formed part of a private Collection since being acquired, with minimal use over the years however it has been maintained as required with invoices on file detailing such items as the ZF 4-speed close-ratio gearbox being rebuilt some years ago by DWR Engineering of Derby, marque specialists who it should be noted also rebuilt the engine with balanced internals. Other items noted within the history file list are a rebuilt differential, balanced diaphragm clutch and a replacement servo.By the time Elite production ceased in September 1963, 1,030 examples had been built and Lotus had developed from a company unheard of outside of UK club racing to one of the most famous racing teams in the world. They were about to be crowned F1 World Champions for the first time with Jim Clark and were seen as established world players in road car manufacture with a mature market presence in the US and elsewhere. The Elite played a big part in this remarkable feat of automotive industrial growth. It was Lotus' first 'grown-up', credible road car and laid down the foundations of the Lotus business that still exists today. With minimal use of late, minor recommissioning may be required but the potential is there for all to see and with that in mind we welcome and encourage your early inspection of this Bristol-built Series 2.Specification Make: LOTUS Model: ELITE Year: 1963 Chassis Number: FR1988 / EB2018 Registration Number: 323 CDA Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 10833 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 47258 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images

Lot 192

Just two registered keepers, 28,425 miles from new and delightfully original. It was back in 1970 that Ford introduced their Rally Sport models - the RS range. Originally designed as a way of building limited numbers of homologation specials for serious competition use, it soon grew into a major marketing opportunity and one that Ford grabbed with both hands. By 1976, when the RS2000 Mk2 was launched, the term RS had grown to mean something a bit special. In late 1978, the 'Custom Pack' became an option and included the following; 'Fishnet' Recaro seats, full door cards, clock and pod centre console, 6J x 13" alloys, boot carpet, remote drivers door mirror and the back panel around the rear lights was painted black. The key word to describe this car is originality. It still retains all the original body panels and glass and has been looked after extraordinarily well throughout its life. Although it has been cherished by a number of aficionados with an eye for originality, astonishingly it still shows as only 'One former keeper'. Our respected Ford collector vendor acquired the car back in 2021 and has professionally housed it ever since within his Collection and unregistered to him. Showing just 28,425 miles from new, a figure that is corroborated by the car’s MOT history, it drives really well today and is surely one of the best unrestored examples available. When supplied new to Breeze of Amble, Morpeth on 6th June 1980, the owner was the Managing Director of a Ford dealership and he immediately treated the car to an application of Dinitrol, a type of Waxoyl protection, still visible today and which has definitely helped protect the bodywork from any rust or corrosion. The original Custom-spec included some dealer-fitted options when new:Rear Ford mud flapsFront Ford carpet matsGlass sunroofFront wheel-arch liners‘Group 1’ vented discs, calipers and compatible brake compensating valveRear seatbeltsJanspeed stainless-steel exhaust and manifoldThe car shines in all the right areas - the spare wheel and tyre are original and unused, as are the ashtray and cigar lighter and one key fits all the locks as when new. Coming to the sale with a fresh MOT until October 2025 and a good history file, this is a great opportunity to own a splendidly original and unmolested example of the rarer Custom version of a true Ford 1980s icon.Specification Make: FORD Model: ESCORT Year: 1980 Chassis Number: GCATAG005340 Registration Number: DBB 134V Transmission: Manual Engine Number: AG00534 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 28425 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images

Lot 166

Well specified manual gearbox car in a stylish colour combination with just over 31,000 miles. At the Geneva Show in March 1999, as a replacement for their much-admired F355, Ferrari introduced the 360 Modena to critical acclaim and not unsurprisingly, within weeks there was a two year waiting list. The 355 was a tough act to follow, but the 360 was rather special - its all-aluminium construction (a first for Ferrari) was revolutionary, resulting in a much lighter car along with increased rigidity (40% lighter than the 355's steel platform but also nearly 30% stiffer), whilst also improving the under-body aerodynamics using knowledge gained from Ferrari's F1 programme. All this combined with the flowing Pininfarina lines, computer-controlled suspension, a staggering 400bhp, 0-60 in 4.4 seconds and 186mph - immediately made its predecessor, the excellent 355, feel rather dated. The Modena also saw a new word introduced into Ferrari reviews - 'reliability'. The engineering had been more thoroughly thought through and this was (and still is) reflected in lower servicing costs than for earlier mid-engined examples of the 'Prancing Horse'. Higher levels of quality too meant that the 360 became one of the first truly modern Ferraris that could realistically be used every day. That didn't detract from the excitement factor however, with strong performance, a searing engine note and a very capable chassis.Supplied by Maranello Concessionaires Ltd, this right-hand drive 360 Modena is fitted with the desirable manual gearbox and looks particularly special in Argento Nürburgring with a rare Bordeaux and black leather interior. It's still fitted with the OE equipment Becker Ferrari radio with the original instruction leaflet. Well specified from new with factory Wing Shields, a 'Challenge' rear grille and full electric seats, it was later treated to a Nouvalari sports silencer which just takes the exhaust note under load to a different level. The indicated mileage of 31,484 is supported by a full service record detailing a major service conducted just over 1,000 miles ago which included cam belts, air-conditioning belt and water pump. The service book contains 14 service stamps at the correct mileages, with either main dealers or specialists and the MOT is valid until August 2025. The car is supplied with all its original manuals, a full Ferrari toolkit, interior dust cover, Ferrari soft briefcase, Ferrari documents case with torch, four keys and two fobs including the original red item. Being finished in a colour combination away from the obligatory makes this lovely Ferrari in 6-speed manual form a very interesting proposition, as earlier Modena examples are now catching the eye and beginning to come of age.Specification Make: FERRARI Model: 360 MODENA Year: 2001 Chassis Number: ZFFYR51C000122444 Registration Number: X866 MGJ Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 59966 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 31484 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Black/Bordeaux LeatherClick here for more details and images
