The flint sparks readily. The lighter however does not appear to have any gas. We would be very surprised if when filled it does not work.
Six 19th century beechwood measures, peck to half pint, and a large Treen handled measure (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The peck measure has several splits to the top metal band. Both bands are rusty. The piece is structurally solid however. There is a crack across the bottom board and an old tin repair to the centre on the underside. Daylight is visible between the edge of the piece and the bottom board. There is evidence of old long gone woodworm. The half peck measure is in generally a little better condition but does have a few old woodworm holes. The remaining measures are all in similar condition. They are all structurally sound. They seem to have their original metalwork and all have some old woodworm holes. The larger of the lighter coloured measures has some more significant cracking around the edge of the bottom section of the sides. There is also perishing to the timber in the base. Old woodworm is evident. There is some springing to the barrel sides. The large oval measure with the handle has old woodworm holes. The handle is secure but probably held on with later nails. There are some old splits to the sides but no movement.
