National Gallery [London] Reports 1893-1907. Official reports by the Director Sir Edward John Poynter to the Treasury, with mss. inventories, typescript and printed lists plus some related content from external publications, bound into a slim folio of dark green half morocco over lighter green cloth, spine lettered gilt, a little stained and bumped, upper joint cracked. The first list, by hand, titled 'A List of Pictures... proposed for transfer to the Gallery at Milllbank' concluding with a 'Note by Director' (in Poynter's hand?). A fascinating document for art historians, concerning the foundation collections of the gallery now known as Tate Britain, which was at first under the Directorship of the National Gallery at Trafalgar Square.
