1950 Velocette LE 150ccReg. no. GWN 57Frame no. 5162Engine no. 5015As a pre-war design the LE (Little Engine) was unconventional with its pressed steel frame, state of the art forks, swinging arm suspension, and adjustable rear shock absorber mounts. The engine is started using a hand operated lever and the drive shaft operated through one leg of the swinging arm. Extensively used throughout the UK Police Force led to its nickname the ‘Noddy Bike’.This bike appears to be in very original unrestored ‘oily rag’ condition and the engine turns over, using the hand start lever. It is being sold as part of a deceased estate and it is not known when it was last running.Comes with – a current V5C, Velocity LE Service Manual and a spare parts book.Estimate: £400-600To be auctioned along with a fantastic selection of other vehicles on March 5th at our Showell Farm site, SN15 2NU. 1964 Triumph 21/3TA 350ccReg. no. DJH 125BFrame no. H24871Engine no. 3TA – H24871In 1957 Triumph announced a new machine with a twin cylinder engine that would revive interest in the 350cc class. It was called the ‘Twenty One’ and its most striking feature was the styling of the rear enclosure reminiscent of an old fashioned hip bath, hence the nickname ‘The Triumph Bathtub’.This matching numbers motorbike was completely rebuilt in 2002 when the mileage was 48,911 and this included a new barrel, pistons, rings and the cylinder head was replaced. The crankshaft was reground and fitted with new big end and main bearings and the gearbox was rebuilt with all new bearings. The swinging arm and steering head bearings were renewed as were the main and primary chains. Both wheels were re-spoked onto Dunlop rims and a new rear brake drum was fitted at the same time. New fork seals, a new seat, new indicators, a 12volt conversion and a respray completed the restoration.Purchased by the owner in 2007 the bike has had very little use over the following years and will therefore require recommissioning.Comes with – a current V5C, photocopies of old registration documents and a green continuation logbook, various MOT certificates from 2002 to 2016 and some old receipts and tax discs.Estimate: £3,000 – 4,000To be auctioned along with a fantastic selection of other vehicles on March 5th at our Showell Farm site, SN15 2NU. Chang Jiang Motorcycle Combination Model CJ750DReg. no. Not registeredFrame no. 5908323Engine no. NF2P 78 FMV-2 59060391Chang Jiang means long river and was the name given to the Russian built Ural M-72 after China took over production in the 50s. The Chang Jiang 750 is basically a copy of the Ural M-72 equipped with a 4-stroke, 746cc flat twin side valve flat head engine that is built on the same principle as the original BMW boxer engine. These bikes came in three versions the M1 the M1M and the overhead valve M1S. All were shaft driven and the M1M and the M1S had 12-volt electrics and a reverse gear that made it a very maneuverable combination for a solo rider. This combination has come from a deceased estate and has not been used for several years. The engine turns over, using the kickstart but the bike only has one carburetor, so no attempt has been made to start it. New Chang Jiang motorcycles are still available to buy in the UK and the Cossack Owners Club is an excellent friendly club for help and information.Comes with - an illustrated parts catalogue, an instruction manual and keysEstimate: £1,000 – 1,500To be auctioned along with a fantastic selection of other vehicles on March 5th at our Showell Farm site, SN15 2NU. 1956 Francis Barnett Falcon 74 197ccReg. no. XHU 787Frame no. WM 80212Engine no. 070B 66058After the war Francis Barnett concentrated on making good quality small engined lightweight motorbikes for the mass market. The Falcon 74 used the reliable 197cc Villiers 2-stroke engine and with its swinging arm frame it handled well, was economical and reliable.Prior to being purchased by the present owner this bike had previously spent many years in dry storage where although it was not run, the engine was turned over, using the kickstart and the bike was moved around to prevent things seizing up. Since purchasing the bike as a winter project, the current owner has sympathetically restored it using as many of its original components as possible. The bike was fully stripped down, media blasted and repainted, a new wiring loom fitted, electrics updated including a remote coil, a new battery, a fused lighting/ignition system and a separately fused charging circuit. The fork seals were renewed, and the bike now starts, runs and rides nicely giving any perspective new owner a sound base to either further restore to show condition or just use and enjoy.Comes with – a current V5C.Estimate: £1,300 – 1,600To be auctioned along with a fantastic selection of other vehicles on March 5th at our Showell Farm site, SN15 2NU. 1972 Suzuki T350 RebelReg. no. TSX 965KFrame no. T350 - 33144Engine no. T350 - 33144Externally the Rebel T350 is exactly the same size as the 250, with the same chassis, brakes, clean lines and good looks. Where it really differs is in the power delivery which comes in strongly from 3500rpm and from there to 5000rpm is a good place to be for everyday riding. Wind that throttle open past 5000rpm and it really takes off all the way to 8000rpm. Unlike the 250, the very torquey engine means you don’t have to be continually going up and down the six-speed gearbox to make progress. The 1972 Suzuki T350 Rebel was to be the last of the series as it was to be replaced by the GT380 Triple. This rare to the UK market Suzuki Rebel T350 was imported from Ohio USA to France where it was purchased by the present owner, it then returned to the UK and was registered with the DVLA. With only 5179 miles on the clock (not guaranteed) this bike is in extremely good original and believed to be unrestored condition. The owner has said everything is working as it should and it starts easily, runs and rides nicely.Comes with – a current V5C and a NOVA Certificate.Estimate: £4,500 – 5,500To be auctioned along with a fantastic selection of other vehicles on March 5th at our Showell Farm site, SN15 2NU. 1977 Kawasaki KZ 650 B1Reg. no. UAL 272RFrame no. KZ650B 014674Engine no. KZ650BE 017771The Kawasaki Z650 was a scaled down version of the very successful Z1 and shares not only a great deal of its looks but also like its big brother, has excellent handling and performance. Its 64 bhp engine was capable of 120mph and although the single front disc was adequate for the machine’s performance, Kawasaki supplied the bikes with the right fork leg ready equipped to bolt on a second caliper to enhance the braking even further if required. This motorcycle was previously registered in the City of Toronto in Canada until 2021 when it was imported to the UK. It is unrestored and has retained many of its original parts. The current owner has ridden and enjoyed the bike throughout last summer and has described it as being in good overall condition, the engine runs smoothly with no rattles and it handles well. There is a dent on the right-hand side of the fuel tank.Comes with – a current V5C, importation documentation, a verification certificate of year manufactured from the ‘Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club’, its original manual and toolkit and its two original keys that fit all the locks.Estimate: £3,600 – 4,600To be auctioned along with a fantastic selection of other vehicles on March 5th at our Showell Farm site, SN15 2NU. 1956 TWN (Triumph Werke Nurnberg) BDG 250 SL SportReg. no. 547 XVMFrame no. 322697Engine no. 322697In 1886, Siegfried Bettman founded the Triumph bicycle factory in Coventry, ten years later he built another Triumph bicycle factory in his hometown of Nurnberg Germany and by 1903 both factories were producing the same model Triumph motorbikes. It wasn’t until after WW1 that things changed, and the German factory became known as Triumph Werke Nurnberg TWN.These bikes are rarely seen in the UK and this model uses a 250cc two stroke engine that uses two pistons running off a single forked conrod affectionately known as the ‘Twingle’ engine. This very original bike was first registered in Holland on the 10th April 1956, was imported into the UK in September 2015 and then registered with the DVLA. This example is described by the owner as being in very original condition and in good running order.Comes with – a current V5C, a dating certificate and its original Dutch registration documentation.Estimate: £2,000 – 3,000To be auctioned along with a fantastic selection of other vehicles on March 5th at our Showell Farm site, SN15 2NU. 1971 Kawasaki H1A 500ccReg. no. ENL 22LFrame no. 33745Engine no. 52453Kawasaki, at the time of production, stated that this bike was "the fastest and best accelerating road machine ever produced, being capable of 124 mph and 12.4 sec. for the standing start quarter mile". This was quite some claim, but by the mid-1960s, the US had become the largest motorcycle market, with American riders demanding bikes with more horsepower and higher maximum speeds. The goal for Kawasaki was to produce a motorcycle with 500cc displacement that was able to develop 60hp and have 13-second quarter-mile times, then considered over the achievable limit for a road bike. Tests at the time certainly achieved figures close to this. This fabulous UK sold example has had a full engine rebuild by well-known engineer Gary Clarke, including the fitting of new bottom end bearings, and new con rods, new pistons and rings etc. The carbs have been fully stripped and rebuilt and the fuel tap on the tank has been modified. Within the file are a quantity of receipts supporting the rebuild, an original logbook and a V5C.Estimate: £9,000 – 10,000To be auctioned along with a fantastic selection of other vehicles on March 5th at our Showell Farm site, SN15 2NU. 1932 Wolseley Hornet ‘March’ Special – the demonstrator car for 1932-34Reg. no. GX 9443Car no. 106315 (recorded by Barry at the time of discovery, original plate still present))Chassis no. 264-65 (recorded by Barry at the time of discovery, and on chassis plate)Engine no. 228/A65Kevill-Davies & March Ltd was a partnership formed in 1929 between Lord Freddy March and Hugh Kevill-Davies, an association which began when both were employed at Bentley Motors. After a short but successful career as a racing driver, Lord March was firmly established in the current motoring scene. With his artistic ability and natural understanding of line and symmetry, it was not surprising that he developed his ideas by styling sports and touring cars of the period. With the assistance of Rivers Fletcher, what has been described as the ‘March Line’, was produced in 1932 on the Wolseley Hornet Special chassis. There would seem to be no precedent for the long elegant wings at the time, since most sporting cars were produced with cycle-type mudguards, but from late 1932 long flowing wings were in vogue. In 1967 Barry Trevarrow recorded a Wolseley Hornet Special, minus two front wheels, abandoned in ‘Peacocks’ chalk pit in Wiltshire, which had been partly destroyed and vandalised. Jack Nichols had recovered the engine in 1967/8, local scrap merchants stripped the alloy off the body and Barry recovered as much as he could carry at the time, including part of the windscreen frame, the dashboard, the spare wheel carrier, wings and ‘March’ horn badge. Over the years Barry traced and recovered most of the mechanical parts but efforts to trace any documentation proved unsuccessful, due mainly to the fact that the car had been ‘cleared’ as unclaimed goods from RAF Upavon at some time in the 1960s by a local resident. Twenty years later Barry returned to the pit and rediscovered the chassis complete with firewall and identity plates. In 1986 Barry was able to take possession of the chassis and therefore he had possession of the whole car. In February 1988 Barry found the engine block and two wheels; the original engine block is present but is not part of the restored engine. Over many years, a great deal of research into this and other March Specials ensued, correspondence in the folder includes letters to and from The Earl of March, Rivers Fletcher and Michael Worthington-Williams.GX 9443 the ‘33’ version, was the prototype for a production run of under 25 cars, and probably coachbuilt by Whittingham & Mitchel. GX 9443 had been first photographed in July/August 1932 by Charles Bowers who did the publicity work for Kevill-Davies & March Ltd, (endorsed by Monty Bowers who was present when his father C.K. Bowers took the photographs) and was used by Autocar in their driving test August 1932. It was the demonstrator car for the company who sold cars as the ‘March Special’. The demonstrator had special features, the most prominent of which included a special ‘March’ badge on the horn, mounted in front of the radiator, and spare wheel carrier with the word ‘March’ engraved. The first March Hornet was GX 16, the second version was GX 9443, and this demonstration car was shown in all subsequent adverts. In the Light Car and Cyclecar of August 12th GX 9443 was featured in a full-page driving report complete with ‘rear tank protected with wooden slat armouring’.Barry’s long-term research supported his early hypothesis that this car was GX 9443, for example the ‘standard’ March did not have this type of horn or the double arched scuttle and the demonstrator had chromed wheels, horn and chromed hinges. Interestingly GX 9443 was also tested in Wiltshire in August 1932. According to Rivers Fletcher, The Earl of March’s own demonstrator was built in aluminium, yet all production cars were in steel. Did the Earl of March own GX 9443?The car has been partly restored over many years, the bodywork has been skinned in alloy and a new bonnet made to the original pattern. The engine has by repute been rebuilt and most parts are present to finish the restoration of this exciting and historically important motor car. In the file are the original chassis plate, original ‘March’ horn badge, a set of three rebuilt SU carburettors, ‘March’ spare wheel spinner etc. plus a huge quantity of literature including two original Wolseley Hornet Spare Parts Lists, another for a Hornet Special, an original Hornet Special Instruction Manual, a current V5C, various correspondence and research on other March bodied cars etc. There are also various spares including front and rear axles, three engine blocks, a radiator, etc.

It was restored to a very high standard over several years from 1998 by the present owner and with the help of the VMCC marque specialist. Land Rover Series 3 DormobileReg. no. JVV 265TChassis no. UnknownEngine no. TBCTransmission: Manual The Series III was the continuation of Land Rover’s ever popular all-terrain vehicle produced from 1971 – 1985. These 4x4s were offered in various guises based on the 88” and 109” chassis. This particular 109” has had the famous Dormobile conversion we believe carried out ‘in period’. There is a company that still today produce pop top camper conversions for the Land Rover market. The Dormobile converted SIII’s are both rare and sought after which means this Land Rover deserves a full restoration to achieve its proper value. This vehicle was found as part of a house clearance in Bristol and has been sat on a driveway for some time. It has suffered damage from a fire some years ago hence the melted windscreen and battery. Whilst the Dormobile top, interior cabinets, engine and gearbox are present, the bulkhead is rotted, and it requires a new floor amongst other things. With the values of these vehicles increasing and the majority of parts to restore it readily available, this is one for an enthusiastic Land Rover restorer to undertake. It is offered with a V5C.Estimate: £1000 - 1500Listing amendment:It was thought that a gearbox was mounted in the car but this is not the case. Just engine, axles, prop shafts and driveshafts are present. To be auctioned along with a fantastic selection of other vehicles on March 5th at our Showell Farm site, SN15 2NU.
