- Believed to have been sold new in Italy and registered in England in March 2016 - Reported to have had only two owners in Italy with just 48,000 recorded kilometres, with instruction and service books - An early four door Range Rover in a classic colour combination and described as having good body and paint work Reportedly sold new in Italy in 1982 to a director of the Italian dairy company Parmalat, this 3.5 V8 petrol engined Range Rover was first registered in England in March 2016. Prior to its arrival in England the vehicle reportedly had the side panels repainted about eight years ago, and only 48,100 kilometres (29,900 miles) are recorded on the odometer with the car being accompanied by a hand book and service book. Also of note is in 2007 the car was awarded certification by Automotoclub Storico Italiano (ASI) which is awarded to only the most correct and original vehicles. At the time the Range Rover wore the Reggio Emilia licence plate RE-434098, and as the Parmalat head office is based within the Reggio Emilia region it is possible that the vehicle remained in that car friendly area for most or all of its life in Italy. Finished in a classic and most agreeable colour combination, this Range Rover has been described by the vendor as having "good" bodywork, paintwork, engine, and interior trim.

Joint development of the car began in 1981 under the 'XX' codename. The development work was carried out at Rover's Canley plant and Honda's Tochigi development centre. In the autumn of 1991, the 800 was re-skinned and re-engineered under the 'R17' codename. This saw the re-introduction of the traditional Rover grille and more curvaceous bodywork. A two-door coupÚ version was launched in early 1992, having debuted at the 1991 Motor Show. From 1992 until 1996, the Rover 800 Coupe came exclusively with the 2.7 Honda V6 engine and 16-inch Rover 'Prestige' alloys. A four-speed automatic transmission came as standard, and the car was capable of well over 130mph. The car had been originally developed with the American market in mind but was never sold there, with Rover having pulled out of the US market before the CoupÚ's launch. It was, however, sold to other export markets. Eighty percent of the interior and exterior of the 800 CoupÚ was finished by hand. On offer here is a 1992 registered model. The paintwork and interior are almost 'as new', the car having covered just 38,000 miles, with all electrics working as they should. In the current owner's care for some time, no expense has been spared when maintaining the car, and it comes to the sale with a large file of bills and old MoT certificates. The cherished registration number 'K5 TAS' is also included, as well as a current MoT certificate. Here is an opportunity to acquire a now rare and appreciating car, of which only 33 are believed to remain licensed by the DVLA, and which represents tremendous value for money.

Lot 24

- Older restoration with documented history file and 74,000 miles - SE specification engine, galvanised chassis and recently renewed Rotoflex couplings - Black upholstery, recent service and 'no advisories' MOT valid till Nov 2016 Further Info: "The uncanny cornering powers of this remarkable machine equal and probably exceed those of any production car we have driven before: similarly the handling and brakes are certainly not bettered." (Motor magazine, September 1967, re the +2). The Elan name was first applied to Lotus's oh-so-neat, Ron Hickman-penned two-seater Roadster of 1962. It comprised a steel backbone chassis clothed in a lightweight fiberglass body, all powered by a 1558cc Cosworth DOHC version of Ford's proven 'Kent' engine. With independent suspension and disc brakes all-round, the Elan was notably light and nimble. However, it was also tight on space and in June 1967 the company launched the Elan +2 for those in need of more accommodation. Based on a lengthened and widened version of the original chassis, it boasted a lower drag co-efficient and superior road-holding; the latter courtesy of a six-inch wider track and larger tyres. Lotus summarised its intent by saying 'the +2 is designed to carry two adults and two children on a long holiday in comfort'. This pretty +2 hails from 1969 and benefits from the 118bhp SE version of Lotus's lusty 'twin-cam' engine. It is finished in the striking hue of Carnival Red matched to Black vinyl trim. The car was the subject of an older restoration based around a new galvanised factory chassis, while its Rotoflex driveshaft couplings are a more recent replacement. The vendor informs us that 'the engine is in great condition, pulls strongly and maintains good oil pressure'. He classes the four-speed manual transmission as 'very good' and the bodywork, well-patinated paintwork and interior trim as 'good'.
