The only criticism so far is that she is a bit hot, in the engine room. So I suppose the poor old chief is still sweating! A George V silver cigarette case by Charles S Green & Co Ltd, Birmingham 1919, of rounded rectangular form with all-over engine turned decoration, centrally monogrammed, 11.8cm x 8.4cm, together with an Edwardian silver vesta case, Chester 1909, 4.4cm x 3.3cm, gross weight of group 5.56ozt (2)Condition Report; Case: Fair order. Moderate denting, concentrated on the cover. Moderate scratching and wear. No splitting, thinning or signs of repair. Moderate wear to the engine turned decoration, mostly around the edges and corners. Hinged cover opens smoothly, and closes with snap. Cover does not sit completely flush. Elasticated strap is partially broken and frayed to one side.vesta: Good order. Some denting, mostly concentrated to the corners. General scratching, wear and tear consistent with age and use. No splitting, thinning or signs of repair. All engraved decoration is crisp. Hinged cover opens relatively smoothly, and closes flush with a snap.

A fine and exceptionally rare mid 19th century English giant carriage chronometer timepiece with running seconds and power reserveJohn Poole, 57 Fenchurch Street, London, No.4428.The gilt brass case with low shaped handle over a large bevelled glass inspection panel within a stepped frame on a boldly moulded cornice, the remaining glass panels bevelled and set between rounded columns on a stepped base and block feet, the glazed rear panel inset with a winding aperture with hinged brass cover, the signed and numbered silvered Roman dial marked 'CHRONOMETER' with large subsidiary seconds ring intersecting XI, XII and I above the power reserve dial set at VI marked DOWN and UP, with original fine blued steel matching hands, signed in a reserve 'JOHN POOLE, 57 FENCHURCH STREET, LONDON, 4428' against an engine turned background, the substantial chain fusee movement with Harrison's maintaining power, the Earnshaw type detent escapement set on a large gilt platform with engraved cock and large diamond endstone to a blued steel helical balance and Poole's typical balance with auxiliary compensation. Accompanied by a hand-written history of the founding of the original manufacturing company by engineer George T. Stares in partnership with Howard R. Pearce (with typed transcript). Condition: Good & appears to have never been assembled & run. Locomotive has some paint flakes & 'coal' moulding has become detached, plastic roofs of good vans have become distorted. From the Members of the Twickenham Volunteer Fire Brigade Dec. 1917, together with a similar, with engine turned design, marked sterling silver, awarded to 'Phyll, with Happy Memories from the L/Fwn, and A.G.O of 'A' Division N.F.S Sept 1942', with initials to front PG, plus two other silver cigarette cases, marked Birmingham 1938 by William Neale & SOn Ltd, the other Birmingham 1928 by F.H Adams & CO, also sold with a silver plated example, approx. 17oz without the plated example
