A late 19th century French brass-cased carriage clock, the eight-day two-train movement with platform lever escapement striking the hours on a coiled gong and with half-hour pass-strike, the enamelled round dial with blue Roman numerals and with an engine-turned border, in an oval foliate engraved case with button repeat, the back plate numbered 973 and the gong block stamped FD in an oval cartouce, 14cm high with handle raised (replacement platform)
