Wow! What the hell is that??? Yes ladies and gentlemen, this is exactly what it looks like… a Trike powered by a 5.3 V12 Fuel Injected Jaguar XJS Engine and the product of one mans obsession to “create” something a bit special. Over 4,000 man hours and £50,000 + later the “Jike Trike” was born. There is no point in trying to describe this vehicle as you really need to study it for hours to do it justice. Virtually the whole thing is hand made and one off where the chassis etc are concerned with the original car donating its running gear, back end and rear seats. It really does make you proud that there are still people out there that continue the “anything is possible if you think about it” engineering philosophy that we are famous for here in the UK. For those of you that want the ultimate toy or an interesting revenue stream as people will queue up to hire it for Proms, weddings etc. This IS the only one in the world!
Ford Capri 1600GT 1972 - Recently repatriated from Germany is this UK spec Right Hand Drive 1600GT MK1 Capri.Since February 1992 it has been owned and on display at a Ford Main dealership in Europe, as part of a personal collection of classic cars after receiving a body restoration (at this time it was changed from its original blue colour to the resplendent orange colour you see today) .The interior is said to be original and in excellent condition. It is rare to have a full “webasto” type roof also in excellent order. In December 2015 it was refreshed prior to being put back on the road and registered as historic. This included new tyres, brake pipes, water pump etc. and it passed the very stringent local test with flying colours.UPDATE:Now with us here in the UK, having just completed a 1000KM drive from Germany, through weather that was forcing many modern cars to pull over, without missing a beat! Now with its UK MOT which it passed with no advisories and during which the MOT tester took pictures as he had never seen a MK1 Capri that has never had or did not need welding underneath! Interior as we were told, is excellent with all the gauges etc working as they should. Even the original Ford radio works! Back on its original UK registration number.Mechanically it is very strong. No nasty whines from the back axle like so many old Fords. Engine runs smoothly with good oil pressure and water temperature. Brakes work as they should having had new wheel cylinders prior to its trip.Just a lovely MK1 Capri that is truly “Turn Key” and ready to go having returned to its Spiritual home, Essex.
Lotus Cortina MK2 Right Hand Drive - With only 34 Lotus Cortina’s now listed as registered with DVLA in total, they are a rare site but ask yourself “When was the last time you saw a MK2??” Being the even rarer of the two Lotus Cortina Models this MK2 was built in 1968 and is a UK car so right hand drive. Having been restored, is rust free and was resprayed in the original factory colours. Engine and gearbox are very good with the engine having had a recent rebuild apx. 200 miles ago so will still need an amount of running in, plus an oil and filter change is recommended in another 300 or so miles to be on the safe side. Interior is very nice with just a small crack in the dash pad on the top of the instrument binnacle and a lovely patina of age, while mechanically it is described as all very good. Under the bonnet where the interesting bit is, is very nice and with very little work would be show worthy, but to hell with that! These cars are meant to be driven with the engine, exhaust note and handling only a Lotus Twin Cam can give, there to be enjoyed. Prices on all “Fast Fords” rise year on year and this represents a chance to buy one of the most desirable Fords produced. With the car receiving a fresh mot prior to the auction, it will be ready for its new owner.
Triumph TR6 1973 with Overdrive - First registered in June 1973 is this UK model TR6 Fuel Injected with overdrive on its 4 speed gearbox. This car has been subject to a massive restoration by the current owner over a long period of years and now is an excellent example. Mileage showing is 4501, the original speedometer needed replacement so actual (total) mileage is 71386 proven by old MOT’s and an invoice in its extensive file of invoices and reciepts for all the work done. The work completed is as follows: Body: Fully restored using NOS British Leyland original front wings, boot floor and sills. Painted in Ferrari Giallo ( Yellow) New Hood,Chrome Bumpers and Wing Mirriors. Has full and quarter toneau covers Interior: New seats, carpets, Burr walnut Dash, door panels and fitted with a Period style Radiomobile . Engine was rebuilt in 1989 , with invoices to prove and has covered apx. 5000 miles since. In 2015 the cylinder head was removed for inserts to run on unleaded petrol, bores were checked at the same time, all was ok and there is a picture of the machined head in its history file and invoices for the work. New Bosch fuel pump, metering unit, lines and Injectors Gearbox was rebuilt by the previous owner including a new clutch (invoiced) the overdrive is fully working and operates in third and forth gears. Electrics are fully operational and have had new front lights and indicators. Brakes new front and rear including brake flexi hoses. Plus probably a load of other things the vendor has forgotten about. all this makes this TR6 a very solid car that is ready to use and enjoy in the hands of its new owner. Currently MOT’d until 1st of August 2017 so renew the free road tax and enjoy.
MG Magnette Mk4 “Farina” 1963 LHD Automatic - In 1961 MG replaced their Mk3 Farina bodied Magnette with the MK4 improving the handling and engine along the way with new anti-roll bars front and rear, suspension that lowered the ride height of the car plus a longer, wider wheel base. The engine was replaced using the 1622cc unit from their successful sports car the MGA. All this gave these later MG saloons handling and performance more akin to the sports car heritage associated with the “MG” name. This superb example is a very rare automatic gearbox equipped Left Hand Drive model that was manufactured for the USA home market and first registered in 1963. Having spent most of its life prior to re-importation in a warm dry climate and with only 67000 odd miles recorded in total, it has survived excellently both externally and internally. Presented in a lovely hue of dark green, the paintwork appears to be original with only small areas where the expected odd scratch etc have been rectified over the years. As the vendor states, this car has never been rusty or restored. The interior is the same, still original in Dove Grey leather and having never had a radio fitted the dash is un-cut with the original matching wood blanking plate in place and unused standard speaker mount below. There is a small area of discoloration to the driver’s seat bolster which seems to be where something was spilt and then cleaned at some point. Easy to recolonise to lose this which the vendor resisted doing as he preferred its originality. Mechanically the vendor describes the engine as “runs as quiet as a mouse” with the auto gearbox operating as it was designed to, as do all the other mechanics on the car. In fact in 2015 he completed a 1000 odd mile trip through France visiting the famous WW2 sites such as Normandy, all without the car missing a beat. The car comes complete with a large file of old MOT’s, invoices etc etc plus handbooks, manuals and period sales literature, it even has an original American “Pink slip” . The vendor also wants to bring to attention to all perspective owners, the car is so original it is still running as a “positive Earth” car as designed. With only 7 in total Farina bodied MK3 and 4 Magnettes now left taxed for road use and one more on SORN, these cars are getting exceedingly rare and are increasing in value every day. This is a turn key ready to go car with the vendor placing a new MOT prior to its sale at the auction. Being offered at the sort of reserve that makes it a must buy for any collector or somebody looking for an entry into affordable classic car ownership. NOTE. Personal plate has been removed now back on the correct Age Related “A” suffix plate and a “Heritage Certificate” for the car is in the paperwork. The original amber front lenses are supplied if the new owner wishes to replace the clear ones with amber bulbs that are currently fitted. MOT now carried out which it passed with flying colours.
TVR 280i “Tasmin” 1984 - If any car epitomised the era of the “Wedge” sport cars it has to be this. Designed by the same man as the Lotus Elite S2 the TVR Tasmin, later to be called a 280i, started TVR’s range of this shape car. Fitted for the UK with a Ford V6 2.8 injected engine and offering as a first for TVR, an Automatic option alongside the 4 and 5 speed manual gearboxes. With only just under 1200 V6 engine cars produced over its 7 year production run, they make for a rare but eye catching site on the roads today. This example is a rare beast indeed, not messed with by any of its owners and apart from a recent set of GAZ shock absorbers (X4), rear suspension springs, rear hatch struts and a full set of silicon water hoses, is completely original. The metallic grey bodywork shows no signs of delamination or spiders to the fibre glass and is described as very good by the vendor, with only the slightest marks etc. Interior wise the red leather is good with just a small split to one seam on the driver’s seat and some areas of dryness that could easily re reconolised on both seats. The dash, door cards, carpets and boot area are all very good. Very unusual for an older fibre glass car is that all the electrics including mirrors windows etc still work! The vendor states that the engine, gearbox and running gear are all excellent and earlier this year he completed a trouble free tour into Europe. The car comes with a file of old MOTs and receipts helping to back up the low recorded mileage of 58300. With its current MOT until March 2017 this rare TVR is ready to enjoy.
BMW 635CSi 1987 - “Eye catching” in this colour is how the vendor describes this lovely example of BMW’s flagship 80’s Sports Coupe. Equiped with the later 3.5 engine that produced well over 200 horse power, these cars were the ultimate long distant GT cars of their time. This particular example in radiant “Henna Red” is described as very good in all areas, interior is excellent with no areas of wear. The engine is silky smooth and with only 143K on the clock, barely run in and “on the button” . The automatic gearbox functions as BMW designed it to. General mechanics are all stated to be very good. With a current MOT till May next year, it is ready to go.
Fiat 600 1971 - This very straight and solid Fiat 600 was recently imported from Europe and is now fully UK registered on its correct UK age related plate. Very much the under dog to its smaller brother the 500, the 600’s drive so much better and with the extra room inside, better engine and much improved gearbox they really do put a smile on your face, while managing to not only scoot about town but loving the twisty bits out of town as well. No they will not set a new land speed records but are more than capable of being used outside the 30mph limits without holding traffic up. With people realising this prices are now on their way up. This particular car runs and drives very well, the previous owner flying out to buy it in Holland and driving it home. Having driven it 20 odd miles ourself we can agree with him. Body is very solid and polish’s nicely while being in a very period hue of green . The interior is useable as is but could easily be improved in places. General mechanics are good as is the engine and gearbox. So what you have is a very useable classic car that presents well whose interior could be improved over time if required. But is a turn key car wi MOT’d through to the 2nd of February and which comes with loads of reciepts, its original owners books and paperwork.
Porsche 911 2.7 “Sports Coupe” 1977 - This stunning 1977 Porsche 911 SC was supplied new to Australia so is an original Right Hand Drive car. When looking at the car it is clear to see that spending the majority of its life from new, in Australia’s warm climate, has benefited it enormously with its body and underside being totally rust free and structurally sound, unlike so many Right Hand Drive cars offered on the market today. With the car is a good history file showing service and maintenance plus an extensive invoice record for new parts etc. dating right back to 2002 when the car was imported to the UK. Recent service and tuning work has been carried out by respected Porsche specialists “ Autostrasse “ of Coggeshall Essex, including a recent £3000 service and maintanance bill and there’s a years MOT on it. Body work is finished in the much sought after bright silver colour, complimented with a contrasting black interior and features a rare optional electric metal sunroof (fully operational) and although not original, a genuine Porsche Classic Stereo with Radio, CD, and Navigation features. Equipped with a 2.7 flat six engine and a manual gearbox, this is not only a real drivers machine but a magnificent investment opportunity. Cars as nice as this rare to find and the values of all air cooled 911’s are climbing year on year. This car is turnkey, ready to go, would look great in anyone’s garage or collection and is definitely better than money in the bank! PLEASE NOTE: The personal plate will be removed prior to sale and replaced with the original age related plate issued by DVLA. As such it does NOT form any part of nor is it included in the sale contract.
Chevrolet “Silverado” C10 Stepside Truck 1978 - Rare to find with a “Step-side” this 1978 Chevy truck has spent most of its life in St Tropez which helps to explain its rust free condition. Equipped with a 5.7 litre V8 and a 4 speed automatic transmission plus again rare to find twin fuel tanks, making it perfect for the drive back from France the vendor made after purchase and in his words “it puts a smile on your face every time you drive it” Prior to purchase the paint work was refreshed, the engine and gearbox were rebuilt and the interior received a new seat and carpets, making it in the very nice condition you see today. One of the most striking features of the truck is not only the way it drives with power steering and power brakes to assist, but how good it is underneath with no signs of any rust or nasty repairs. Oh, and then there is the exhaust note! Not over loud just that glorious rumble only an American V8 can make. Coming complete with its French papers, a UK MOT and a Nova certificate, it is ready to be registered on to UK plates if purchased by a UK buyer and ECCA are more than happy to assist in this process. Alternatively we are happy for a small fee to carry out the registration on your behalf.
Fiat 500D “Transformabile” 1964 - Back in 1960 Fiat launched the Fiat 500D as a replacement for the outgoing model the Nuova 500. While retaining the outgoing models “suicide doors” they decided to replace the full length folding roof with one that only folded halfway, apart from that is on the rare model they called the “Transformable” making this model particularly sought after and very collectable today. Here we have a lovely example. Built in 1964 and restored approximately 10 years ago by an Italian Coachbuilder in Italy who rebuilt the engine, the interior and painted the body. Today the paint work is still very presentable with only minor imperfections. In fact all the original glass is still in place and is clear with only very fine hairline marks. All exterior trim is present, correct and in good condition and complimented by new chrome bumpers. The interior is still in great condition and it even the original over mats are present with only light marks. The engine starts with no hesitation, settles down to a nice even tick over and when on the road pulls cleanly, making the most of the 17hp that its 499cc produces. All the electrics work correctly and the overall mechanics are described as very good and there is a current UK MOT until 21st April 2017. Having watched and seen what other examples have sold for, this car is being offered with a very reasonable reserve and would complement any collection while increasing in value year on year.
Rover 3500 P6 Automatic 1972 - Every now and then you see a car that makes you think” Where has that been all its life? This 1972 Rover P6 3500 is one of those cars. With only 72618 recorded miles on the clock and with a service history that fills its service book to back that up, it can only be described as Excellent in fact the exterior that is the only part of the car that has been restored is described by the vendor as “As New” a major claim for any car that is over 40 years old! Interior is completely original, the black leather is lovely and gives off that welcoming smell only old leather can give. While showing little or no wear but having that lovely and correct aged finish. All the electrics internally are correct and fully functioning as are the external electrics too. Mechanically all aspects again are described as “excellent” with the engine starting instantly, the big V8 up front still pulling as strongly as the day it left the factory and the Automatic gearbox changing smoothly and correctly. Coming with a current MOT this car is ready to go, would grace any ones collection or garage and represents a rare opportunity to buy a P6 this good.
Citroen XM Exclusive Turbo Diesel 1999 NO RESERVE - Believe it or not there now only 10 Citroen XM Exclusive TD Auto’s left registered for road use in the UK, so rarer than an AC Cobra!! This particular example has only had 3 owners and covered low miles for a diesel Citroen. Exterior apart from a few marks on the front bumper and one mirror casing is exceedingly straight and being made out of galvanised steel as this model was, rust free. Its luxury leather interior with electricaly adjusted and heated seats, windows, central locking, air con and a electric glass sunroof etc (even the center arm rest between the front seats is electrically adjusted!) is in superb virtually un-marked condition. The engine and engine bay are spotless, again not what you would expect from a Diesel. The engine fires up straight away and once on the move, is very smooth and quiet in operation. Our staff member that collected it said” That really is a nice drive and a nice place to be. The auto gear box operates correctly and once in top, 70 mph comes up at 2000 revs so very economical.” This vastly underrated and under-priced future classic Citroen has its hand books in the original folder, some history and bills. It came in to a Citroen Specialist in part exchange and he does say that the previous owner was a known client and although there are no bills, he was told a cam belt change and a service were recently carried out and as previously said, looking at how clean it is under the bonnet, it must have been regularly looked after.MOT’d until 10th of January 2017 Offered with NO RESERVE so have a look and make your own mind up.
Triumph Dolomite 1500 SE 1980 - “1979 saw the introduction of the Dolomite SE, of which 2163 were built. The bodyshell was of the basic 1500 (single headlamps) but the interior was fitted with luxury trim including burr walnut dashboard and door cappings (the dashboard was the same style as fitted to that of the Dolomite 1300), grey velour seats and matching carpet. All the cars were painted black with wide silver stripes running full length, with the letters “SE” at the end of the rear wing. The SE also sported a front spoiler and Spitfire style road wheels” This delightfull example is one of only 10 Dolomite 1500 SE’s left on UK roads. Complete with all its original SE extras and described as very good in all areas, with a very small amount of work, could be a very unusual show car. Engine and engine bay are both very clean with the engine starting easily and once warm, pulls cleanly through the twin carburettors, giving suprisingly brisk perfomance when pressed. Gearbox and clutch are both smooth in operation and the exhaust has recently been replaced with a stainless steel item. Interior is very good and even still has the original Unipart radio fitted. Rear seats look too of never been sat on and fronts not far behind. The door cappings could do with the varnish renewing to bring up to the standard of the rest of the interior but the dash wood is excellent. The original black extrior still polishes up nicely with no major damage etc and the SE stripes are complete. Original dealer stickers are still on front and rear screens. Coming with a new MOT prior to auction and with a lot of old MOT’s so ready for its new owner.
Mercedes 300SL Convertible 1991 - Needing no introduction these early 90’s mercedes convertibles are probably one of the best buys on the market today giving “soft top” motoring in a quality car for a rediculously low price, but this is all begining to change with nice examples now going up in value and becoming very sought after by those in the know. This particular car is definately in that category, not only being finished in what a lot of people consider to be the best colour combination of a silver exterior over a full black leather interior, but with only 94910 miles on the clock and having been owned last by a very particular member of the Mercedes Owners Club. The exterior is imaculate with little or no signs of usage and complimented by a colour matched hard top and a brand new last year, set of genuine Mercedes alloy wheels shod with expensive Continental tyres. The electrically operated black soft top is in superb order and is fully fuctioning.Interior is more of the same with unlike most offerings, lovely supple and un-damaged leather that has obviously been “fed” regularly.Again the previous owner was not happy with the carpets and kick plates so these were also changed last year for new items. Coming fully loaded with options including air conditioning and cruise control all of which function correctly. The three liter engine fitted to this car manages to strike a lovely balance of delivering a nice punch when needed but still giving good fuel economy with the automatic gearbox changing smoothly. All other mechanical functions are very good. Supplied with the car is the original owners pack, service history and old MOT’s plus the current MOT which is until March next year. This really is a fantastic example of this appreciating classic and not to be confused with a lot of other lesser cars on offer today. One to buy and keep for sure.
Mercedes 280e 1993 - Fast becoming a popular choice for the person that wants a classic car, one that can take the kids to school during the week and then to do the car shows in at the weekend, the 280e Mercedes ticks all the boxes and currently, at a ridiculously low price. The 6 cylinder engines are famed for the prodigious mileage they will do when maintained and after the corrosion problems of the 80’s, these marked a return to Mercedes quality. This particular car was registered to Mercedes from 93 to 94 when it was sold to its first private owner who then owned it until it was passed on to his son in his will. He then sold it to its current owner along with the fathers other car which he has kept and is offering this one at a low reserve. There was one other twist in the tale. When he HPi’d the car it showed as Cat C due to a claim in 2011. When asking the son if he knew this he claimed that the car had never had a claim while in his father’s ownership. The vendor then contacted various insurance companies etc that said they had no knowledge of a claim either. As a final go, he contacted Waterhouse Mercedes, who had serviced the car throughout its life and they did indeed find records of it having a new back bumper (only), in 2011. So that has to be it, you can deduce that the cost of a new rear bumper being supplied and fitted by Mercedes against the value of the car, resulted in it having a Cat C marker put on it! The overall exterior condition is very good, with just some slight lacquer peel in places and some corrosion to the road wheels. Interior is also good, again just some minor cracks on a facia panel. Engine wise everything is very good, with 159K on the clock it is just about run in and has always been serviced (Last service was at 156978 in 2015). The automatic transmission is very good as well, operating as designed, in fact the overall condition of the running gear is stated as very good. With its MOT current through to March next year and with its mechanics etc being all good, this is ready to go. A bit of class for less than a bad holiday for two in Benidorm, figure that?
Chevrolet GMC Silverado 5.7 V8 “Step- Side” 4×4 Truck - This very rare to find in this spec, 1991 Chevrolet Silverado “Short Bed, Step-Side” truck is equipped with a potent 5.7 Litre V8 Petrol engine! “Ye-har” as our cousins over the pond would say!! But best of all it is also the 4 wheel drive version so with all that power going through GM’s bullet proof Automatic gearbox and 4 wheel drive system, straight onto the ground, this truck is not for the feint hearted! Its vendor does however say that with a lighter foot on the pedal, it is surprisingly good on fuel and docile in everyday use, he regularly loads up the back for tip runs etc.Being such a high spec truck it comes with all the creature comforts of a luxury car, electric windows, central locking, power steering, air conditioning and cruise control to name a few, all of which function as designed. The seats are in a more luxurious cloth than the lower spec trucks in the range and have proved to be very comfortable on the longer journeys. All of the interior is in very good order.Body work is very good with just one small crack on the l/h rear bumper capping and has some nice touches throughout. General mechanics are very good as are the external electrics on the outside of the truck. The engine is superb, starting instantly and soon settling into a quiet but meaningful throb. On the road it pulls cleanly through the rev range and the automatic gearbox changes smoothly , brakes are very good and the exhaust note, although definitely allowing the truck that um-mistakable V8 noise, is not to obtrusive. All in all a very tidy truck in a rare configuration that needs nothing and can be a stylish load -lugger or a show truck, the choice is yours? Supplied with a current MOT so ready to go
