Make and Model: Triumph 2000 MK2 Saloon Registration: GDH 446H Year : 1970Colour: BlueEngine Capacity: 1998CCChassis No: ME13608DLOEngine No: ME13841HEDocuments: V5C. Huge and comprehensive service history with a stack of invoices. Handbook and workshop manuals. Currently on SORN. Only two registered keepers but all the same family. The Triumph 2000 was introduced in 1963 and production ran until 1977. It was in direct competition with the Rover 2000 P6 in the executive saloon market. The four cylinder Rover was solid and revolutionary but the Triumph boasted a silky six cylinder engine lifted from the outgoing Standard Vanguard. The car was styled by Michelotti and looked very sharp for the time. All independent suspension assured a fine ride and sure footed handling. In 1969 the Innsbruck facelift added a handsome longer restyled front and rear end. Sadly, the big triumph line died during the British Leyland era, but not before Triumph fitted the 2.5PI engines from the TR5 with its troublesome fuel injection system to the model and then the more reliable 2.5TC with tried and tested twin carburettor induction in 1974.This extraordinary and rare survivor has had just one family owner since new. The service history is amazing, with day to day hand written logs of journeys undertaken, parts and fuel purchased and routine servicing. We are informed that it had a repaint some 12 years ago. The interior appears original. The car benefits from the desirable manual overdrive gearbox. It is some years since the car has been driven so naturally some re-commissioning will be in order. A great car to use, improve and enjoy.
Make and Model: Triumph Spitfire MK IVRegistration: SPG 697MYear : 1973Colour: Mimosa YellowEngine Capacity: 1493CCChassis No: FH57674Engine No: YC73617HEDocuments: V5C. Current MOT until 5th July 2018. 91,674 milesThe Triumph Spitfire was introduced at the London Motor Show in 1962, based on the underpinnings and engine of the Herald saloon and designed by the Italian designer Giovanni Michelotti. The car had a separate chassis but was structurally reinforced for additional rigidity. Production ran from 1962 to 1980, the MK1 and MKII models with 1147cc engines, the MKIII and MKIV with 1296cc and MKV with the 1493cc engine. The MKIV had a revised rear suspension set up to eliminate most of the negative handling characteristics of the Herald swing axle design. The example here was restored in early 2000 with a GRP bonnet fitted. It has a full stainless steel exhaust system with twin rear pipes, a recent battery and alternator change, uprated brakes and a halogen headlight conversion. The Moto-Lita steering wheel is a particularly fetching addition. It appears a very solid example with a strong chassis and remarkably little corrosion. It has been used daily since recommissioning and we feel would form a perfect basis to make into a superb car to use, improve and enjoy.
