All matching numbers, full owner's provenance and a Leyland Blackheath, Cape manufactured car. A full workshop manual and data/log book accompanies the car. Significantly it is possibly the oldest known production example of this marque by British Leyland and Sigma Motor Corporation in South Africa.

Plate 1 Note: This engine built at Brighton Works in 1878 for LB&SCR was originally named Macon (after a town in Southern France). With planked style decking with 5 engine ventilators, hatch cover, bridge with open wings, seating with passengers, with removable centre superstructure for access to electric motor. To Wilmott Brothers Plant Services, Ilkeston, Derbyshire 1996 and used as a hire loco. Subsequently scrapped.

Lot 269

Diesel nameplates a Pair CROMWELL and CHURCHILL from Ruston & Hornsby 0-6-0 DH built 1961 and numbered 423 / 8217 / 01585. Formerly based at MoD Bicester, was sold on the 28th June 2003 and moved to the Avon Valley Railway for engine overhaul it was then sent to The Ecclesbourne Valley Railway at Wirksworth and whilst it was based here it received the CROMWELL and CHURCHILL nameplates, it moved again to Ruddington from where it was purchased by DB Regio ( Chiltern Railways ) for use at its Wembley depot, in 2010 the loco was taken to Long Marston for modifications and it received the Chiltern Railways blue livery and the nameplates were removed as later in 2010 it was renamed SCAZ. The Pair will come with a certificate from Chiltern Railways and are sold on behalf of Chiltern Railways in aid of their two charities Home-Start Banbury & Chipping Norton and The Brain Tumour Charity.

Worksplate rectangular brass SENTINEL SHREWSBURY LOCO No 10148. From 0-6-0 diesel hydraulic locomotive new in 1963 to Port of Bristol Authority, Avonmouth, No 34. Purchased by Thomas Hill (Rotherham) Ltd. Kilnhurst December 1983 for overhaul and resold June 1984 to NCB Coventry for work at the Smokeless Coal Plant. To Staffordshire Locomotives January 1996. Rebuilt by Yorkshire Engine Company later that year and sent on hire to Shotton steelworks. Later owned by Wilmott Brothers Plant Services, Ilkeston, Derbyshire as a hire loco and scrapped at their yard around July 2008.

Face restored.

The nameplate was then transferred onto 0-6-0 diesel electric locomotive Yorkshire Engine 2633 of 1957. New to Port of London Authority, Tilbury Docks as 203. Transferred to Royal Docks October 1959. Sold to Guest Keen & Nettlefolds Ltd. Tremorfa Works, Cardiff July 1972 where it was numbered 378 and named Tintagel. Scrapped on site in 1990/1991. Face restored, rear ex loco.

Tyers No 6 Aluminium single line Tablet OTTERSPOOL Jc - SEVERN BRIDGE. Ex GW & Midland Railway Joint, Severn & Wye Railway section between Lydney adjacent to the junction to the Engine Shed and Severn Bridge station, gateway to the famous Severn bridge that was demolished by a barge collision in 1960, that linked to Sharpness on the south bank. The station opened on 20th October 1879 and closed 26th October 1960, the day after the collision.
