Yes “One owner from new” and owned by the man that bought us rear window louvres and shiny plastic hub caps, things that were the absolute “must have” back in the 70’s. Just about every one over 40 would have owned an “Autoplas” product at some point.Being an ardent lover of Jaguar cars the owner of this one, now sadly passed away, would buy a jag, keep it until he wanted another or a new model XJ came out then buy that, he never sold the old ones, just parked them up in his garages! This is what happened to this lovely XJ12 Saloon, it was driven into the garage 22 odd years ago and that was where it stayed until now. It was like a time warp, exactly as he left it!With only 64,890 miles on the clock not much will be worn out and the engine runs. The body work has survived well with very little rust just various “storage marks” Inside, apart from the drivers foot well that has its original floor mat the other 3 foot wells have expensive and very thick shag pile over mats, these have been there from new so you can imagine what the carpets are like underneath, new! The leather needs no more than a deep clean and feed. The electric windows are temperamental, sticky switches probably. In the boot is the original Jaguar tool kit in its box plus the jack and original owners book, there is even a Jaguar map showing where Jaguar dealers are round the country (For our younger visitors, a map is like a fold out Sat Nav. Sorry couldn’t resist). This is a superb opportunity for someone, yes it needs recommissioning but it’s a One Owner low mileage 1986 5.3 V12 XJ12 and even better, it still has its “Auto-plas” rear window louvre in place!!
While not having been run for a while but driven to where you see it in the pictures, this 2CV Dolly is ripe for restoration. Body work is ok and the piano hinge on the boot lid is good, as is the lower windscreen panel, both normally rotted out or having been long since replaced. The chassis is beginning to rust but looks to be the original and saveable. The floor pans look good from the inside and all the lights etc are present. Interior is actually surprisingly good, but if you are going to fully restore it then you would look to retrim, if not a clean and leave it alone.Mechanically you would want to go right through it but the vendor assure us that it did run, drive and stop under its own steam, prior to being parked up. But it is sold for restoration not as a road worthy car.Now the other “free” one. Its um not nice! Really it’s only good for spares. Its all there mechanically (engine gearbox etc with the car) but it has some “minor” things missing like its floor pans and the chassis is broken! It’s actually only the doors being shut that keep it looking a bit straighter. Please be under no illusion, in our opinion this one is past saving but as said, an excellent source of partsNOTE. The vendor has said that if they make reserve he will transport both free of charge up to 50 miles (outside of London)
You have to admit Alfa Romeo do have a knack of making their cars stand out from the crowd and have the sort of presence other makers hanker for. Presented in Tropico Verde this pretty convertible has 98k registered on the clock and while not having a full history it does have bills for the all important cam belt change. Mechanically the engine that delightfull twin cam that loves to be reved, the transmission and electrics are all said to be very good. Exterior is good with no big nasties and the interior is very good and well equipped. The classic car world is finally waking up to what good cars these are, so grab one while they are still so affordable. A convertible Alfa for how much??
Along with Fords XR3 and XR2 probably one of the most famous Hot Hatch’s to come from the 80’s was the Peugeot 205GTi. Same ethos, take a small every day shopping trolley, stick in a bigger engine and stiff suspension and “Hey-presto” probably the best fun you can have on four wheels. When you think about it the manufacturers of the day were doing no more than people had been doing for years in garages and workshops up and down the land, just mass produced. This particular car has the bigger of the two engines available, the 1900cc unit which still appears to be in rude health, starting easily and pulling strongly with no nasty smoke etc evident. Gearbox clutch and general transmission are all good. Electrics and general mechanics are good. The body work in this rare green metallic is bright and shiny, not mint but even after all these years still very presentable. Interior is good again not mint but good and very useable as is and the vendor will be placing a new MOT on the car prior to auction. So look on this particular car as one you can get in and use, enjoy it for what it is as it is and tinker with as you go. Sounds like fun to us!
This late in the run, 2nd generation 2001 Range Rover 4.0 HSE auto has a full service history, with 21 Land Rover service stamps! The last being at 124,659 miles in September last year. The 4.0 litre engine, gearbox, general mechanics are all described as being in good condition and the troublesome air suspension has been modified back to conventional springs. Mot is until April 2018.
This Shadow 11 is described by its vendor as being “One of the best”. The body work is excellent with superb condition chrome fittings. The interior wood and leather is just superb. There is a very low mileage of 24634 recorded on the odometer but in its history is a Speedometer change at 38000 so true mileage is still a very low 62000 or so miles. Having covered only 700 miles in the last 4 years the vendor asked Rolls Royce specialists “Silver Ladies” to go over the car prior to offering it for sale. They carried out a full engine service, over hauled the brakes and carried out an MOT.The history with the car is stunning. Pages of invoices totalling many 10s of thousands spent on its up keep, old MOTs, original purchase invoice and even the build sheets that were used to assemble the car. As he said, they really do not come much better.
Having sat in a garage un-used since 1980 ANO677F is indeed a rare find. Purchased originally when apx 18mths old for the two daughters of the family to learn to drive in, neither parent could drive, then used for family holidays. Once the daughters left home it was parked and stayed there until we collected it after unfortunately both parents have passed away. With only 58265 miles on the clock, this has to be one of the lowest mileage original MK2’s on the market today.Obviously it will need restoration. We have however had the engine running on its own fuel supply and released the brakes to allow it to be rolled (Hand brake works).A one off opportunity to own a bit of “Blue Oval” history.LOG BOOK IN HAND along with original bill of sale, hand book and old mot’s!!
