A superb, 'turn-key' example of the Cigarette Boat Racing Company's 36 Gladiator, fastidiously maintained, lying in Mallorca and offered 'In Absentia' - offered at No Reserve The world famous Cigarette Racing Boat Company was established during 1969 in South Florida by legendary power boat racer, the late Don Arronow. He went on to win numerous powerboat World Championships and set several World Records in his famous Cigarette racing boats which are still built and winning today. The Cigarette design is instantly recognisable throughout the world and their designs and style have set the highest standards in power boat racing across the globe. This fabulous example is a 36-foot Gladiator model built in 2004 and fitted with 'Richie Zul' V8 American engines producing 775hp each, coupled to IMCO Bravo XR racing outdrives with five-blade Hering surface-drive propellers giving the boat a top speed capability of 108mph! The boat was supplied new to its first owner, Ivan 'Putch' Rodriguez, in 2004 and was originally based in Marina Botafoch in Ibiza. It was subsequently sold to our vendor, a private enthusiast with several other serious motor yachts, in January 2010 having logged c.160 engine-hours. He moved the boat to Mallorca, where it is currently stored indoors (and has always been stored indoors whenever not in use), and since then it's been looked after by Nigel Figgins of NJF Marine.Nigel has been instructed to maintain the boat regardless of cost, and all the documentation and invoices covering this annual maintenance are present with us and can be seen and inspected. They total some 128,000 Euros over the period to the current day, despite very little usage during this time. This work included a full engine overhaul to both engines by Richie Zul as well as a rebuild of the complete drivetrain. More recently, in 2023, new batteries were fitted as well as a new seawater pump and the usual annual maintenance which has been consistently carried out throughout our vendor’s period of ownership. It is now available 'turn-key' and ready to use.Potential buyers can arrange to have the boat surveyed, or inspected, in Mallorca at their convenience and expense. It will need collecting from Mallorca as it is being sold 'In Absentia' and not physically present at our London sale, although all documentation will be there to inspect. Please call Iconic Auctioneers Chairman, Nick Whale, for further details. Please note, fresh photos to follow by 21st May.In Summary:Genuine American Cigarette Racing 36-foot racing hullTwin ‘Richie Zul’ 775hp American V8sIMCO Bravo surface-drives with five-blade Hering propellersGenuine 108mph boat236 engine hours with a total and complete service history amounting to over €128,000 in the last decadePrivately owned and maintained regardless of costMallorca-based and always indoor storedSpecification Make: CIGARETTE Model: 36 GLADIATOR Year: 2004 Chassis Number: HIN: CRTUSB08H304 Registration Number: N/A Transmission: N/A Make: Click here for more details and images

Surely the lowest mileage and most original TX1 to ever reach the open market. 12 miles from new, single ownership and offered in time warp condition. The much-loved Fairway Taxi was a tough act to follow, having been in production for nearly 30 years and becoming a staple part of London’s culture and aesthetic, but the TX1 thankfully carried the Fairway’s torch very well indeed. Manufactured by London Taxis International (formerly Carbodies), it was introduced in 1997 as the successor to the Fairway (FX4) and was a significant evolution in London's black cab lineage.Aesthetically, the TX1 retained the general shape of its predecessor, with its distinctive high roofline and boxy silhouette, however it incorporated more modern, sleeker design elements as well as improvements in safety and functionality. The interior boasted several updates including improved accessibility for passengers, better ventilation and better interior amenities. The engine/gearbox remained the same as the final Fairway's, fitted with Nissan’s TD27 2.7-litre diesel engine and 3-speed automatic gearbox.R90 CAB is an extremely early TX1, first registered to its one and only registered keeper on 17th November 1997. It was fitted with a wheelchair access ramp, sliding partition window with intercom system, and a taxi meter/fare light in preparation for a life on the streets, but that was not to be.As with its sister car, R80 CAB, it's on offer from the same single ownership, presenting in the same as new, ‘time-warp’ condition, with just 13 miles covered. Its supplied with its original documentation, service record, handbook, both sets of keys and even the original sales brochure all in as new condition. This is surely the lowest mileage, most original, and most unrepeatable TX1 taxi ever to reach the open market.Upon its purchase back in 1997, R90 CAB was mothballed alongside R80 CAB, an extremely late production Fairway, with both being professionally stored under dust covers in temperature controlled units at significant cost. They were only ever woken from slumber once a year to be recommissioned with new oils, filters, fuel, run up to temperature and gently exercised. With the exception of the above consumables, everything on the vehicle is original, including the intact LTI protective wrappings from the factory. All the usual attributes associated with a London black cab are present and in working order including the infamous orange ‘Taxi’ light adorning the roof.R90 CAB is surely the lowest mileage TX1 in existence and would look at home in any Collection, museum or London-themed environment. In common with R80 CAB, it's offered at a very reasonable estimate and wouldn’t it be great to see this pair stick together.Specification Make: LONDON TAXI INTERNATIONAL Model: TX1 Year: 1997 Chassis Number: SCRT3A3MEVC100083 Registration Number: R90 CAB Transmission: Automatic Engine Number: TD27-564116 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 12 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images

A carefully restored example of the legendary RC30 with only 271km since the restoration. One of the modern era's few immediately collectible classics, the Honda VFR750R, better known as the 'RC30', was created for just one reason, to win the World Superbike Championship. This feat was achieved in the emerging series' first two seasons of 1988 and 1989 and whilst American Fred Merkel was bringing Honda its first two WSB titles, Lancashire’s Carl Fogarty used an RC30 to win the TT F1 World Championship in 1988 and 1989, and the equivalent FIM Cup in 1990. No mere short-circuit scratcher, the RC30 and its derivatives proved durable enough to win a hat-full of Endurance Classics too. That this latter requirement was also part of the design brief may be determined from the fact that a quick-release front fork and single-sided swinging arm, essential for wheel changes in race conditions, were part of an unrivalled specification that included a twin-spar alloy beam frame, 16-valve V4 engine with gear-driven cams, close-ratio 6-speed gearbox and 4-pot front brake calipers. With this level of technology, the RC30 was never going to be cheap and, at the time of its launch in 1988, an RC30 cost £8,499, nearly double the cost of other ‘super-sports’ 750s. Although the passage of time and progress of motorcycle technology means that the RC30 is no longer a match for the latest generation of sports bikes, it has developed an almost mythical exclusivity that none of them can approach. The example on offer here today was originally registered new in Italy, subsequently being imported to the UK in 2014. In need of a light refresh, the decision was taken to fully restore the bike and Anson Classic Restorations in Leicestershire were tasked with this exercise which was duly completed to their normal high standards at a cost of over £14,000. It has been enjoyed by the same owner since then covering only 271km in that time. UK-registered on a current V5C, the bike is accompanied by its history file containing import paperwork, old MOTs and the restoration invoice and will have a fresh MOT by the time of the sale.'No other bike from the late 1980s is lusted after like the RC30' declared Bike Magazine recently and looking at this fabulous example, few would disagree.Specification Make: HONDA Model: VFR750R TYPE RC30 Year: 1991 Registration Number: H620 JCV Engine Number: Not SeenClick here for more details and images

Beautifully restored and upgraded to 4.2-litres by leading marque specialists, Desmond J Smail, this stunning DB5 is ready to present on the world's concours circuit. Aston Martin's post-war evolution took a major step forward with the launch of the DB4 in 1958. Classically proportioned, the beautiful, Touring-designed, body established an instantly recognisable look that would stand the marque in good stead until 1970. The engine was still an all-alloy, twin overhead-camshaft six but the old W.O. Bentley-supervised 3-litre unit had been superseded by a new design from the pen of Tadek Marek. The new 3,670cc straight-six developed 240bhp at 5,500rpm and the David Brown gearbox was an all-new, 4-speed all-synchromesh design. Five distinct Series were built as the DB4 gradually metamorphosed into the DB5 which was introduced in July 1963. The new '5' boasted an enlarged 4-litre engine which had seen service initially powering the four-door Lagonda Rapide of 1961 and, having proven itself reliable, was subtly modified to suit the sporting aspirations of Aston's new flagship. Equipped with three SU carburettors, the 4,000cc engine produced 282bhp at 5,500rpm and was mated to a 4-speed/overdrive gearbox, a proper ZF 5-speed unit becoming standard later. The DB5's distinctive cowled headlamps had first appeared on the DB4GT and the newcomer was the same size as the lengthened Series V DB4. Outwardly there was little to distinguish the DB5 from the last of the DB4s apart from twin fuel filler caps, although these had already appeared on some of the earlier cars. Beneath the skin however, there were numerous improvements including alternator electrics, Girling disc brakes instead of Dunlops, Sundym glass, electric windows and an oil pressure gauge as standard equipment. This delightful DB5 left the Newport Pagnell factory in September 1964, originally finished in Sierra Blue with a Fawn interior and, according to a copy of the original guarantee, was sold by Aston Martin dealers, Brooklands, to Woodward (Hampstead) Ltd., a firm of furniture manufacturers, presumably for the use of their Chairman. DVLA historical records show that #DB5169R belonged to a Mr George Martin White from Kensington in 1968 and was under the same ownership in Gerrards Cross in 1970. It was subsequently returned to the factory in 1971 for a service at 57,000 miles before becoming the property of Leigh Road Garage in Chumleigh in 1975, who sold it a couple of years later to Cheltenham-based Anthony Finney in 1977. No further ownership change is recorded until the DB5 came into the possession of Antea Cars of Wandsworth, who in turn exported it to a Japanese buyer some time later.DB5 5169R remained in Japan until it was discovered by respected marque specialist, Desmond J Smail, in original condition and still dressed in its original factory paint and trim combination. Several months later, the car was repatriated to the UK and sold to its previous owner with a view to a full 'ground-up' restoration. Desmond Smail completed the work in 2014, with the costs totalling some £200,000. The process was incredibly thorough with 'no stone left unturned', including industry-leading body and chassis fabrication by Bodylines of Olney and the repaint superbly finished in gleaming Rothesay Red by fellow Olney specialists, the Lone Pine Garage. Additional works included a full engine rebuild to 4.2-litre specification with Cosworth pistons, gearbox and axle rebuilds and a full retrim in Connolly hides and Wilton carpeting by Desmond’s ex-factory trimmer, Joe Dorrill. The Aston is as good as – or, to be accurate, probably slightly better than - the day it left the factory and now incorporates a few discreet modern upgrades including air-conditioning, a music system with iPod connectivity, electric cooling fans and further sound and heat proofing. The result is a sublime looking and driving DB5, perfect for long distance grand tours and for displaying on the global concours circuit.Having covered just 3,400 miles since the restoration was completed ten years ago, it was purchased by our vendor in April 2019. The DB5 has formed part of his private Collection, where it has continued to be lovingly maintained, serviced and MOT’d annually by Desmond J Smail and used only on high days and holidays.#DB5169R is a matching numbers car with its original engine and gearbox and presents superbly in the seldom seen hue of Rothesay Red. It’s accompanied by its original build sheets, the Heritage Certificate and the fully documented restoration history. We invite and encourage your viewing of this fabulous DB5 to fully appreciate its quality. Lot 377

Surely the lowest mileage and most original Fairway Taxi to ever reach the open market. 13 miles from new, single ownership and offered in time warp condition. The Fairway Taxi, also known as the FX4, is quintessentially British, instantly recognisable and undeniably iconic having graced the streets of London for nearly 40 years. Produced by Carbodies Ltd, now known as the London Taxi Company, between 1958 and 1997, the Fairway is instantly recognizable with its distinctive design, high roofline and boxy shape. Over time, just like the London Routemaster bus, red telephone boxes and red post boxes, the Fairway has become a symbol of London culture, renowned for its spacious interior, durability, and reliability. When the Fairway was eventually phased out of production, it left a serious pair of shoes to fill, however, not surprisingly, its successor, the TX1, was well thought out and retained many of the Fairway's classic design cues whilst introducing modern technology and improvements in safety and efficiency. Many Fairway Taxis remained in service for decades, serving the citizens of London without complaint, however, the particular Taxi Cab on offer here has lead a rather different life…R80 CAB is one of the very last Fairway taxis produced and was first registered on 23rd September 1997, only a few days before the very last one rolled off the line, was registered R1 PFX on 1st October 1997 and presented to the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu. This special taxi has been owned and registered from new by its one and only keeper and cherished as part of a small private Collection. Having covered just 12 miles from new, it is in running, driving, time warp condition and as one would expect, it smells, looks and drives as if brand new. It's totally standard and is fitted with the Nissan TD27 2.7-litre diesel engine paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission and overdrive with full wheelchair accessibility, in line with a law that came into force in January 1989.Upon delivery back in 1997, R80 CAB was mothballed alongside R90 CAB, an extremely early example of the TX1 - the Fairway's successor, with both being professionally stored under dust covers in temperature controlled units at significant cost. They were only ever woken from slumber once a year to be recommissioned with new oils, filters, fuel, run up to temperature and gently exercised. With the exception of the above consumables, everything on the vehicle is original, including the intact LTI protective wrappings from the factory. All the usual attributes associated with a London black cab are present and in working order including the famous orange ‘Taxi’ light adorning the roof. The TX1 was licensed in 1997 and fitted with a fare meter ready for the streets of London, however, that was also not going to be its fate as it joined its older sister in immediate retirement where it has remained for 27 years.R80 CAB is simply unrepeatable. It's surely the lowest mileage Fairway taxi in existence, in addition to being a one-owner registered vehicle, in ‘as new’ condition and retaining all the original documentation, service book, handbook, keys - even the original sales brochure. This remarkable, end of production Fairway, in common with its stable mate, the very early production TX1, would look at home in any Collection, museum or London-themed environment and with both on offer at very reasonable estimates, it would be great to see this pair stick together.Specification Make: CARBODIES Model: FAIRWAY DRIVER TAXI Year: 1997 Chassis Number: SCRF383MXVC088689 Registration Number: R80 CAB Transmission: Automatic Engine Number: TD27-560366 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 13 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: GreyClick here for more details and images
