1995 Mercedes-Benz S600 L Transmission: automatic Mileage: 13500The Mercedes-Benz S-Class represented a classification officially introduced in 1972 with the W116. The S-Class has served as the flagship model for Mercedes for over fifty years in its various incarnations debuting many of the company's latest innovations including drive-train technologies, interior features and safety systems such as the first seatbelt pre-tensioners. The term stems from the German abbreviation 'S-Klasse', for 'Sonderklasse', meaning 'special class' and in automotive terms refers to 'a specially outfitted car'. In 1991, the W140 series replaced the W126 in the Mercedes-Benz line-up and saw the S-Class grow in its proportions; more technology and features were added due to product evolution and through competition. Innovations were introduced such as double-pane window glazing, self-closing boot lid/doors, electric windows with a jam-protection feature and a heating system which emitted warm air while residual energy was available after the engine was turned off. This fabulous example was ordered new by the late Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Hamad Al-Thani and subsequently sent to the well known armoured car specialists in Belgium, Carat Duchatelet, to be equipped to B6/B7 armour standard. This is the highest domestic armoury which can be bestowed upon a vehicle without it being military, used mainly by Heads of State and similar VIP status individuals worldwide. This Mercedes-Benz is presented in dark metallic blue with cream leather and Alcantara interior, both of which are in exemplary condition. The interior was equipped to the Emir’s specific requirement with added features such as telephones fitted to front and rear, centrally mounted television in the rear, picnic tables situated on the back of the driver’s and passenger’s seats in walnut, two seats in the rear and curtains to the rear and side windows. This magnificent and highly specified example of this luxury marque is superb in every respect; particularly noteworthy is its minimal mileage covered of only a mere 13,500 km from new.*Historics and the present owner offer this vehicle for sale accepting no responsibility for any injury sustained as a result of the failure of any of the special equipment and armoury that has been fitted. Carat Duchatelet welcome any return of vehicles to their factory for re-inspection and have service teams available to travel worldwide.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

2010 Ferrari 458 Italia Transmission: paddle Mileage: 26661In Ferrari's first official announcement the 458 was described as the successor to the F430 but arising from an entirely new design, incorporating technologies developed from the company's experience in Formula 1. The 458 is powered by a 4.5 litre V8 engine of the ‘Ferrari/Maserati’ F136 engine family, producing 562 hp and 398 lb ft torque at 6,000 rpm with 80% torque available at 3,250 rpm. The engine also featured direct fuel injection, which is a first for Ferrari mid-engine set-ups in its road cars. The car's suspension features double wishbones at the front and a multi-link set-up at the rear, coupled with E-Diff and F1-Trac traction control systems, designed to improve the car's cornering and longitudinal acceleration by 32% when compared with its predecessors. The brakes include a prefill function whereby the pistons in the calipers move the pads into contact with the discs on lift off to minimise delay in the brakes being applied. Ferrari's official 0–62 mph acceleration is 2.9 seconds with a top speed of 210 mph and Ferrari quote a power to weight ratio of 5.75 lb per horsepower. This Rosso Corsa Red example with black leather trim looks typical of all Ferrari 458's - absolutely fantastic from every angle. A 458 Italia offering up 562bhp combined with Formula One technology means this is a real driver’s offering from the Modena based manufacturer. Purchased by our vendor just last year from a Ferrari main dealer, this example has 18 months main dealer warranty remaining and was serviced as recently as March 2021. Options added include the all-important hydraulic front lift kit, carbon kit to the interior and full electric lumbar supporting seats with red stitching and red carpet set. The history file shows no less than the required 10 service stamps from new and we think this fabulous supercar car is very good value with the versatility to be purchased either by a collector or just to be enjoyed. A fabulous motorcar.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 2000 Lotus 340R Transmission: manual Mileage: 10860Given the success of its long-running Seven, still manufactured by Caterham and much copied by others, perhaps the most surprising thing is not that Lotus had another stab at building a stripped-down, back-to-basics sportscar, but that it took them so long. First shown as a concept car at the 1998 British International Motor Show, the 340R uses the Elise's bonded aluminium mid-engined chassis, basic running gear and 1.8-litre Rover K-Series engine in its 177bhp form. Originally the target bhp/ton power-to-weight ratio, the '340' ended up being the maximum production figure for this exclusive and exciting car. Even more Spartan than the Elise, the 340R lacks roof, doors, windows and heater, all omitted in the cause of weight reduction, while the narrowed body makes do with carbon-fibre cycle wings instead of the real thing. The end result is a fantastic car looking like no other in current production and one that, according to EVO magazine, enables its driver to 'bask in the quizzical wonderment that every other road user expresses when you pull up alongside.' Despite looking like a track-day special, a role, incidentally, at which it excels, the 340R possesses full European type approval and delivers a level of ride comfort totally unexpected in such a performance-focussed car. This fabulous example presented in grey with blue interior is car number 66 of 340 built. It is in original factory specification fitted with the more powerful 190bhp factory upgraded 1800 engine and comes with original Tecnomagnesio four stud wheels, five point harness fitted to both seats and has a Meta alarm system with intrusion sensor. A few dealer extras were fitted such as a quick release Alcantara steering wheel (original included) short shift gear change (original parts included) fire extinguisher, Decat pipe (original catalyst fitted currently) and is shod with Yokohama tyres. There is a full service history with the car with all but one Lotus dealership stamps in the book (16 altogether). The last C graded service was carried out in 2018 at 10,550 miles and it was then that the cambelts were changed and an A service was carried out by the owner in 2020 at 10,776 miles. It comes with an original toolkit and all factory books, two sets of keys and an outdoor cover. With performance figures matching many Supercars 0-60mph in 4.3 seconds and 0-100mph in 10.1 seconds, this is an adrenalin rush on wheels weighing as little as 700kg! Superbly impractical but supremely outrageous! Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.
1985 Mercedes-Benz 500SL Transmission: automatic Mileage: 96665The Mercedes-Benz SL class has been manufactured since 1954. The designation SL derives from the German 'Sport Leicht' or 'Sport Light' and was first applied to the 300SL 'Gullwing,' named after the upward-opening doors. The term SL-Class refers to the marketing variations of the vehicle, including the numerous engine configurations spanning five design generations. The Mercedes-Benz R107 and C107 cars were produced from 1971 through to 1989, being the second longest single series ever produced by Mercedes-Benz after the G-Class. The R107 took the chassis components of the mid-size W114 model and mated them to the larger engines from the S-Class (W116) and has become a benchmark of quality throughout the years. This wonderful example showing 96,665 on the odometer is presented in its original colour of Diamontblau Metallic over a contrasting beige leather interior. It has been treated to much restoration work in recent years including an extensive respray returning the car to its original colour, a full leather interior renovation using the original hide, reconditioned OEM wheels, as well as various other works. Showing very little sign of age, the paintwork, interior, and hood are all presented in excellent condition as is the engine bay which is very clean. Accompanying the 500SL is a sizeable history file detailing the restoration, many old MoT test certificates, photographic records of the restoration, many sundry invoices, and the V5C Registration document. Dry stored and exercised occasionally the vendor reports that the 500SL runs very well indeed and is a joy to drive. This is a wonderful example with an extensive history. Offered in one of the most desirable colour combinations we are sure it will be huge amounts of fun for the new owner!Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1999 Aston Martin DB7 Vantage Coupé Transmission: automatic Mileage: 26310Regarded by many as one of the world's most beautiful cars when released in 1994, the DB7 received many subtle but effective changes over its ten year life to complement the elegant body design. Originally designed by Ian Callum to be both beautiful and practical and encompass all the unmistakable DB styling cues, it was initially deemed a little underpowered and thus lacking in excitement. The Vantage was the first Aston Martin in 1999 to use the V12 engine and alongside styling changes enabled 420bhp. A more aggressive styling with a bigger front grille, new fog lights, side and indicator lights and imposing 18 wheels complemented the styling refresh. The Vantage interior leather trim was cut and sewn at a special trim shop at Newport Pagnell, where the carpet and wood veneers were also prepared. This desirable UK specification DB7 Coupé is presented in the elegant colour scheme of Aston Martin Racing Green with a Saddle Tan leather interior and benefits from the 12-cylinder Vantage engine, privately entered but presented to a showroom standard. The first owner cherished this example for some 14 years, his careful tenure contributed to just 22,000 miles being covered since it was first registered on 10th December 1999, this in turn encouraged our vendor to purchase the car in May 2018, wanting the best of this marque. Since he purchased the vehicle our vendor has continued the fastidious upkeep, utilising the skills of Chiltern Aston and Aston Martin Works to maintain this glorious Vantage Coupé adding to the comprehensive history file containing details of the continual service history together with previous MoT test certificates. Fitted with a fabulous sounding factory sports exhaust and upgraded front grille, we believe it certainly is one of the best you will find on the market.Offered with an MoT test certificate valid until May 2022, this stunning example has the desirable combination of V12 power and soundtrack coupled with sumptuous luxury and effortless acceleration through the automatic transmission; road trip to the South of France anyone?Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1960 Aston Martin DB4 Series II Transmission: manual Mileage: Launched at the London Motor Show in 1958, the Aston Martin DB4 emphatically demonstrated that a British manufacturer could better the Italians at their own game when it came to constructing the ultimate Gran Turismo. Classically proportioned and instantly recognisable from the moment of its introduction, the Touring-styled DB4 established a look that would survive, with only minor revisions, until 1970. Following in the classic tradition of close-coupled sports saloons, the 3.7-litre DB4 Aston Martin carries orthodox modernity to its highest pitch. A luxurious two-seat saloon which can carry four adults when necessary, it recorded almost 140mph as a two-way mean speed over the measured mile. That the DB4 was able to manifest this rare combination of unrestrained high performance and civilised docility was down to its magnificent engine. A new design by Tadek Marek, the DB4's all alloy, twin overhead camshaft six featured 'square' bore and stroke dimensions of 92mm for a displacement of 3670cc and developed its maximum output of 240bhp at 5,500rpm. The David Brown gearbox was a new four speed all-synchromesh unit. An immensely strong platform-type chassis replaced the DB2/4's multi-tubular space frame, the latter being considered incompatible with Touring's Superleggera body construction that employed its own lightweight tubular structure to support the aluminium-alloy body panels. The DB2/4's trailing link independent front suspension gave way to unequal length wishbones while at the rear the DB4 sported a live axle located by a Watts linkage instead of its predecessor's Panhard rod. The DB4's peerless credentials as a Grand Routier were summed up thus by The Motor: 'Performance, controllability and comfort have been combined in the Aston Martin DB4 to make it a highly desirable car; one in which long journeys can be completed very quickly indeed with the minimum of risk or discomfort and the maximum of pleasure.' Manufactured between October 1958 and June 1963, the DB4 developed through no fewer than five series. This DB4 was originally sold to Mr. R. G. Lawrence in Norwich by Aston Martin dealers Brooklands of Bond Street, London on 17th August 1960. It was then sold to Mr. Hudson-Morley in Leeds who then sold it to Mr. Boxston in Bath. After that, records show that the car was bought by father and son, Mr. Alain and Laurent De Clercq in France where it remained for a number of years. Whilst in Mr. De Clercq’s ownership, much work was carried out by Atelier de L’Artisan, owned by Frederic DeLaere, between 2012 and 2015, invoices for which are included in the history file. It was subsequently registered in the UK on 22nd March 2016 with the registration number it bears today. The history file contains a record of invoices detailing all work carried out each year from 2016 to 2019 by Aston Martin Works in Newport Pagnell which totals £38,942. Copies of photos of some of the work are also included in the file. The wonderful red leather interior is original and in very good condition and the present owner had the 1960 rear windscreen removed and replaced with a bespoke new one to include a built in aerial for the original radio which is in 100% working order. He also had some modern internal work completed to bring it up to today’s standard including converting the electrical system to negative earth at a cost in excess of £6,000, all whilst retaining the original aesthetics. The exterior paintwork, in iconic Aston Martin Metallic Green, is in exemplary condition. This fabulous example of the iconic British sports car is still stunningly beautiful and the sound of the straight six engine howling through the country roads is addictive. Without doubt this is a splendid example of one of Newport Pagnell’s finest designs.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1966 Jaguar E-Type Series I Roadster (4.2 Litre) Transmission: manual Mileage: 3600Introduced in 1961 at the Geneva Motor Show, the Jaguar E-Type’s striking presence dazzled crowds and upended the automotive world. The British car was handsomely designed by a team led by the imaginative Malcom Sayer with the blessing of Jaguar founder Sir William Lyons. The success of the E-Type was due, in no small part, to its stunning looks, high performance, and competitive pricing, the equivalent Ferrari of the day was costing three times more and delivering less horsepower! With Jaguar's racing pedigree from the 1950s still fresh in the memory, it's no wonder the E-Type captured the hearts and minds of all who were at the launch. Built in 1966, this Series I car is fitted with the 4.2 litre powerplant, often considered the best E-Type engine. For the 4.2 model Jaguar introduced their own all-synchromesh gearbox along with improved seating and brakes. The new gearbox allowed faster changes and was well received in the motoring press at the time, offering an exhilarating driving experience for both pilot and passenger. Apart from 4.2 badging, the car's external appearance was unchanged but under the skin there were numerous detail improvements, chiefly to the electrical and cooling systems, top speed remained unchanged. The Jaguar E-Type is a genuine head-turner which thrives on its legendary reputation for sporting performance (it was based on Jaguar’s D-Type Le Mans racer) and ageless design.Delivered new in 1966 to the United States this well presented, matching number, Series I E-Type has been professionally converted to right hand drive and is offered in Primrose Yellow over a black leather interior. Treated to an extensive restoration which included the removal of the gearbox and an engine overhaul, as well as various other works, totalling to circa £25,000. Offered in very good order throughout, the paintwork and interior show little sign of age and the engine bay is clean. The vendor reports that this E-Type runs and drive well and has been part of his private collection for some time. Accompanying the car is a sizeable history file detailing the restoration and including photographs of the process, various MoT test certificates, sundry invoices, and a V5 registration document. Ready for the coming summer months, we are sure this well looked after example will prove to be huge amounts of fun for its new custodian.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1998 Porsche 996 C2 Transmission: Mileage: 111000The Porsche 996 is the internal designation for the Porsche 911 model manufactured and sold between 1998 and 2005. On its debut, the 996 featured the most significant changes to the Carrera model since its 1963 introduction, namely the water-cooled engine replacing the previously air-cooled unit. Progressively stringent noise regulations, environmental concerns, a higher expectation for refinement and a high-performance, four-valve per cylinder engine made the switch necessary. Other changes included a sleeker body with a more steeply raked windshield and a re-designed interior. This very tidy example is presented in Zenith Blue with grey leather interior and comes with a full main dealership service history which is so rare with these cars. These early cars don't have fly by wire but cables which is more desirable. The last service was carried out in January 2020 at 109,913 miles and it comes with virtually all invoices and a fully stamped service book which is also extremely important and reassuring for any prospective purchaser. The car has air conditioning, satellite navigation, CD player, sports seats, six-speed gearbox, 18” wheels and comes with two sets of keys and all its original factory books. The previous owner replaced the clutch at 75,000 miles and it has been meticulously maintained and serviced throughout its life, thus it is now being presented in such great condition.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 2003 Porsche 911 / 996 Carrera 4S Tiptronic Transmission: automatic Mileage: 94421The first 996 Series cars arrived on our shores in October 1997 but only in hard top Coupé form. Those who wished to have the wind in their hair had to twiddle their thumbs for another year before the Cabriolet versions were launched, as well as Carrera 4 all-wheel drive variants. Both manual and the Tiptronic S automatic gearbox were offered. 2001 saw a revision of the 911 Carrera 2 and 4 ranges, with turbo-look headlamps, revised steering and suspension, some interior upgrades, but most importantly of all, a 3.6-litre engine which developed 320bhp. The Cabriolet version's hood was amended, and it also gained a glass rear window. The Targa version was also revived, but this time around it was a beauty with an electrically sliding glass roof and an opening rear window. This very nice example is presented in the much sought after colour combination of Basalt Black Pearl exterior with black leather interior. The front seats are fully heated with electric memory the roof lining is Alcantara. The car also has factory fitted Porsche satellite navigation, Bose surround sound system and Bluetooth headset, reversing parking sensors, digital climate control air conditioning. The wheels have been refurbished and powder coated and it has a GT Cup style exhaust system. All invoices for work and maintenance are available. The car is powered by a 3.6 litre engine and mated to a Tiptronic gearbox. It comes with a full service history with invoices, service book and all original manuals.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 2001 Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph ‘Last of Line’ Edition Transmission: automatic Mileage: 26903Unveiled in March 1998, the Silver Seraph replaced the Silver Spur. All Seraphs were handbuilt at the Rolls-Royce factory in Crewe, England, which stopped making Rolls-Royce models in 2002 but continued with Bentley. The car had a base price of £155,175 in the UK and was powered by a 5.4 litre, aluminium alloy, BMW V12 engine making it the first twelve-cylinder Rolls-Royce since the 1939 Phantom III. Standard electronics included digital engine management, adaptive ride control and anti-lock brakes and, aside from the radiator grille, badges and wheels, the Rolls-Royce was externally identical to the contemporary Bentley Arnage sharing both its platform and bodyshell. Inside, the Silver Seraph and the Bentley Arnage were similar but quite distinct from one another. In the Seraph, the gear selector was column mounted, and the gauges followed a traditional Rolls-Royce layout; for example, without a tachometer. In both cars, the seats and dashboard were upholstered in Connolly leather and glossy burr walnut veneer and featured folding picnic trays for rear passengers. The Silver Seraph Last of Line is a special edition of the Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph. The model was meant to mark the termination of the production of Rolls-Royces in the factory in Crewe. These cars boasted above the standard cars, special wood veneers with inlayed ‘Spirit of Ecstasy’ motif, a commemorative plaque on the centre console, red RR-badges on the grille and the boot lid, ‘Spirit of Ecstasy’ motif on the hub caps, chromed exterior mirrors and a subtle badge on the front fenders with the text ‘Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Crewe, England’, together with the British flag. This absolutely stunning example is offered in a combination of Sherwood Green with Barley Hide piped in navy with Wilton carpet and sheepskin over rugs. One of just 46 right hand drive Last of Line examples, this car boasts just four former owners, the first being the supplying dealer JCT 600 who had this well specified example as a demonstrator before selling it to the first owner in June 2002. The car is offered with a comprehensive service history starting with JCT 600 right through to P&A Wood and recently Silver Lady in October 2020 at 26,898 miles. Complemented by the original two umbrellas in the boot and uprated modern Bluetooth phone kit and satellite navigation, this example also comes supplied with a full book pack, original service booklet and history file. Thought to be one of the best examples available to market and signifying such a transition for Rolls-Royce, this is certainly a collector’s item – so much so that our vendor commissioned his Spirit of Ecstasy to be gold plated. A stunning example of a truly appreciating classic.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1972 Mercedes-Benz 350SL Transmission: manual Mileage: 149764The Mercedes R107 was launched in 1971 and production continued through to 1989 - a hefty 18 years; the longest single series ever produced by the firm besides the G-Class utility vehicle. The R107 replaced the W113 Pagoda SL in 1972 and was replaced by the R29 SL in 1989. Some 237,000 R107 SL's were built and about two thirds were sold in the U.S. The car was essentially a two-seater sports car although a small seating arrangement was available behind the front seats. Mercedes-Benz offered a number of engine choices over the years, the first cars in 1971 being fitted with the 350 engine, a V8 3.5-litre unit. By 1973 a larger 4.5-litre, V8 was available, constructed primarily for the U.S. market. The SL Roadster has since become the epitome of how a luxury roadster should look and is as popular today as when first launched. This lovely example was first registered on 10th February 1972 and is presented in the rare colour combination of aqua blue over a deep blue leather interior. Offered with what many would consider to be the best combination for an R107 Mercedes, a 3.5 litre engine mated to a manual gearbox with the rare jump seats at the rear. The vendor reports that this 350SL is in good order throughout, treated to a restoration some time ago the chrome work presents well and shows little sign of age, as does the paintwork which is in fine order. Recently fitted with a new deep blue hood and correct carpets as well as a Bluetooth audio streaming system built into the period Becker head unit. The Mercedes is offered with a history file detailing previous maintenance work, various MoT test records, sundry invoices, and a V5C registration document. Accompanied by the SL's desirable factory hardtop for winter months, this 350SL is offered at a very attractive price and is the perfect summer drop-top for its new custodian, especially when considering the recent prices achieved for R107 models.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1992 Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evo 1 Transmission: manual Mileage: 125170The Lancia Delta was first shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1979. The Delta is best known for its World Rally Championship career in the late 1980s and early 1990s, when it dominated. The first Evoluzione cars were built at the end of 1991 and through 1992. These were to be the final homologation cars for the Lancia Rally Team; the Catalytic Evoluzione II was never rallied by the factory. In order to improve the handling, the Evoluzione had a wider track front and rear than earlier Deltas. In order to enclose this track in the bodywork, the wide arches were extended even further and in the process also became more rounded. The front strut top mounts were also raised in height in the quest for more grip: this then necessitated a front strut brace to control the forces thus generated. External changes included new grilles in the front bumper to improve the air intake for engine compartment, a redesigned bonnet with new lateral air slats to further assist under bonnet ventilation, an adjustable roof spoiler above the tailgate to assist in competition, new five-bolt wheels derived from the rally cars and, finally, the rear of the car was changed with only one exhaust pipe now showing. The new Integrale retained the four-wheel drive layout; an epicyclical centre diff with torque splitter, Ferguson viscous coupling and Torsen rear differential. The engine, although technically the same as the earlier 16V cars, was remapped to give 210bhp at 5750rpm. These improvements were aimed at, and did change, the car’s handling potential, with the new car being able to travel 5% faster over rally sections both tarmac and gravel. The result was even greater driver confidence when driving in normal road conditions. This superb and very collectable example of this rare marque is presented in the equally rare exterior colour of metallic Madras Blue with grey Alcantara interior. The paintwork is superb and the interior is in equally wonderful condition which belies its age and mileage. The car comes with its original Lancia wallet together with the original sales brochure and all the Lancia Delta books. A great history file accompanies this Italian beauty including an A4 folder containing many old receipts and various other documents including a Certificate of Conformity from Fiat UK. It is supplied with an MoT test certificate which expires on 8th March 2022 and, as can be seen from the service history, has the benefit of its belts being serviced at 123,586 kms. The colour combination of this car clearly makes it stand out from the rest of these rare examples and would be great on any European rally or show including the Italian Car Day at Brooklands Museum in July this year. 2008 Volkswagen Golf GTi Mk. 5 Transmission: automatic Mileage: 47980The Volkswagen Golf Mk. 5 was the fifth generation of the Volkswagen Golf and the successor to the Mk. 4. Sharing the Volkswagen Group A5 platform, it debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show in October 2003 and went on sale in Europe one month later. The Golf Mk. 5 was replaced in 2009 with the Mk. 6. The GTI comes with VW's four-cylinder 2.0L Turbo engine (FSI) which gives it 197 bhp. Transmissions include a six-speed manual or six-speed DSG. The Mk. 5 is now regarded as probably the best incarnation of the legendary GTi after the original Mk. 1 of 1976-1983 and is fast acquiring modern classic status. This superb example from the ‘daddy of hot hatches’ is presented in black with black cloth interior and is immaculate throughout including underneath. It comes with air conditioning and climate control, six speed DSG automatic transmission, sports seats and has 11 VW stamps in its original service book. Its MoT test certificate expires in March 2022 and the car also comes with two sets of keys. Great fun, practical and quick!Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1979 Mercedes-Benz 450 SL Transmission: automatic Mileage: 63200Introduced early in 1971, this impressive two-seater sports car replaced the 280SL. The body and chassis of the third generation Mercedes-Benz SL was considerably heavier and longer than its predecessor but still showed a resemblance to them. The 3.5 litre, V8 engine underwent slight modifications to those being used on other models and the gear shift lever was placed on the floor in the centre of the car. The standard transmission provided a top speed of 130mph and a very respectable 0-62mph in 8.8 seconds. As with the previous generation SL's, the vehicle came as an open roadster with removable hardtop and went on to become one of the longest running styles from Mercedes-Benz. A range of engine size were available, one of the more powerful and rarer was the 4.5 litre unit. This genuine unrestored example of the very desirable V8 powered 450 SL is presented in special order Mercedes-Benz silver green (861) with black leather trim. A car with just three previous keepers, our vendor purchased the car some seven years ago from the previous custodian of 23 years. We are informed the paintwork is factory original as is the hood and hardtop and the car sits on the desirable Mexican hat alloy wheels. The mileage is backed up by countless MoT certificates in an impressive history file which boasts a near full service history, much from renowned specialists John Haynes Mercedes-Benz in West Sussex. The original and unused spare wheel is found in the boot which is testament to such an original and unrestored car in fabulous order throughout. 1991 Ferrari 348 TS Transmission: manual Mileage: 43803The Ferrari 348 was a mid-engined, rear wheel drive V8 powered two-seater replacing the 328 in 1989 and continuing until 1995. Badged 348 TB for the coupé (Berlinetta) and 348 TS (Spider) for the targa versions, it features a naturally aspirated 3.4 litre version of the quad-cam, four valve per cylinder engine which was originally found in the 288GTO. As with its predecessors, the model number was derived from this configuration with the first two digits being the displacement and the third being the number of cylinders. The engine, which produced 300bhp, was mounted longitudinally and coupled to a transverse manual gearbox similar to the Mondial T with which the 348 shared many components. The 'T' in the model name TB and TS refers to the transverse position of the gearbox. The 348 was equipped with a dry-sump oil system to prevent oil starvation at high speeds and during hard cornering. This fabulous privately owned and cherished right hand drive 348 TS has been part of a significant Ferrari collection for some time and has been dry stored and exercised occasionally during the vendors tenure. Offered in Rosso Corsa over a Crema leather interior, this Ferrari presents very well indeed and comes with a comprehensive history with no less than 15 services recorded, all completed by renowned Ferrari specialists. The most recent of which was undertaken by Kent High Performance Cars at 43,788 which included a cambelt change. Inspecting the car and the history file will lead any interested party to view this as a very well cared for car. Offered with a MoT test certificate until March 2022, a full Ferrari toolkit and book pack, various sundry invoices, and the current V5 Registration document. We strongly advise viewing to appreciate what is an appreciating example of the great Italian car manufacturer.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1934 MG PA-Type Transmission: manual Mileage: The MG P-Type was manufactured from 1934 to 1936. This two-door sports car used an updated version of the overhead camshaft, crossflow engine used in the 1928 Morris Minor and Wolseley 10 and previously fitted in the J-Type Midget of 1932 to 1934. The chassis was a strengthened and slightly longer version of that used in the J-Type with suspension by half-elliptic springs all round as well as rigid front and rear axles. The most significant improvement, however, was that the crankshaft main bearings were increased from two to three. The top-end was a carry-over with a cross-flow cylinder head and a single overhead camshaft. Most cars were open two-seaters although some streamlined ‘Airline Coupé' bodies were also made. The P-Type was also available as a four-seater, a car that, unfortunately, suffered from a lack of power and poor rear ground clearance. Around 2,000 MG PA’s were produced and in 1935 with a new PA open seat tourer cost £222.Originally registered on 2nd March 1934, this MG PA presents in good order throughout, the car started immediately when requested and the engine ran very smoothly with no adverse rattles or noises. The knowledgeable vendor has fettled this car well to ensure the car is ready to be used and enjoyed by any new owner. These stylish Abingdon built sportscars always cause interest wherever they appear. It is hard to imagine this vehicle is 87 years old, what a great way to enjoy classic car motoring for a relatively modest outlay.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1969 Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL Transmission: automatic Mileage: 67595The Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL 6.3 began as a private venture by Mercedes-Benz employee Erich Waxenberger in 1966. The idea of placing a large powerful sports car engine in a saloon is still very popular today as can be seen with the current Mercedes-Benz range; indeed, the 6.3 capacity V8 engine is still in use today, albeit many generations on from the W 109 SEL. Waxenberger's theory was simple - take the powerful 6.3 litre V8 Mercedes-Benz M100 engine from the luxurious Mercedes-Benz 600 Limousine and fit it into the regular Mercedes-Benz W 109 S-Class model which, at the time, only had six-cylinder engines. The result was a nearly two-tonne saloon with performance similar to the most prestigious sports cars of the era. This right hand drive 300 SEL was manufactured in 1969 and imported from Australia in 2016.The vendor purchased this rare Mercedes in September 2018 following an interior refurbishment the previous year. During his tenure this handsome Mercedes has benefitted from renovation work to the radiator, water pump and cooling system. A total of £16,000 has been spent on the car in the last 4 years. A recent mechanical appraisal has unfortunately identified a burnt out starter motor and the requirement of a new head gasket. Due to a change in circumstance the owner has decided not to proceed with the works and has reluctantly entered the car for auction. Presented for sale with a UK V5C registration document and offered without reserve. A delight to drive, these luxury saloons were the choice of Embassies and Royalty around the world and, with reasonable expenditure, this Mercedes could be enjoyed once more.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.
1968 Maserati Quattroporte Series II Transmission: manual Mileage: 79578The Quattroporte was introduced at the October/November 1963 Turin Motor Show, where a pre-production prototype was on the Maserati stand next to the Mistral coupé. Regular production began in 1964. The Tipo 107 Quattroporte joined two other grand tourers, the Facel Vega and the Lagonda Rapide and was capable of travelling at 124mph on the new motorways in Europe. It was equipped with a 4.1 litre, V8 engine, producing 260hp at 5000rpm and either a five-speed ZF manual transmission or a three-speed Borg Warner automatic gearbox on request. In 1966, Maserati revised the Tipo 107, adding the twin headlights already used on the U.S. model. A leaf-sprung solid axle took place of the previous De Dion tube. The interior was completely redesigned including the dashboard which now had a full width wood trimmed fascia. As detailed by the Maserati certification AM1072400 was originally produced at the Maserati factory on 31st October 1969. This very rare factory right hand drive manual example was delivered new to Australia and originally in Luci di Mezzanotte with white leather trim. Now presented in blue coachwork with complementary blue leather luxury trim and stunning walnut veneer. Little of the cars early history is known, it is believed to have been owned by a Mr. Huntley from 1984 to 1998 when he sold the car with the House of Maserati in Sydney, Australia to a Bob Burnes who carried out an initial body restoration before selling in early 2012 to a Maserati collector who completed an engine rebuild, all of which is detailed in the history file. In 2014, Oldtimer Australia purchased the car and enlisted Autodelta to compile a full inspection and rectify any minor issues before servicing, Oldtimer Australia then sold the car to our vendor, a successful collector and businessman in aviation who is the current custodian of a modest collection of classic cars. Our vendor who has high standards for his cars sent the car to Joe Macari for servicing when it arrived and some remedial work in 2015 before he commissioned the well-respected classic car specialist, Adam Redding to recommission and further finish the car to his exacting standards. Between 2015 and 2016 a further £30,000 plus was spent and the car thus now is in fine fettle indeed, often seen gracing the streets of West London turning heads as it goes. A fabulous opportunity to own a stylish well restored icon of the 60’s. Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1990 Jaguar XJS Convertible Transmission: automatic Mileage: 88150The XJS convertible, which first appeared in 1988 at a price of £36,000, was considerably more than merely a coupé with the roof removed. The earlier 'T-top' Cabriolet paved the way as the first open Jaguar since the departure of the E-Type in 1975, but this was to be the first full convertible and a strengthened sub-frame was employed in order to alleviate scuttle shake. It looked superb and elegant with the hood erect or folded and finally met the demands of the highly valued North American market. Retaining the roomy cockpit space of the coupé, the new convertible boasted a useful shelf for extra luggage and all the expected Jaguar refinements as standard. The XJS's superb 5.3 litre engine developed some 295bhp in later fuel injected form and, even when allied to an automatic transmission, the car was capable of a genuine 150mph. It made for a very fine open-top 'Grand Touring' car, exceeding the specification of other home-grown machinery and being much cheaper than the equivalent high profile Mercedes SL.This lovely 1990 Jaguar XJS convertible is showing 88,150 miles on the odometer and is finished in the wonderful colour combination of Bordeaux Red metallic over a contrasting Magnolia interior and comes complete with Lattice alloy wheels. Offered in good order throughout, this Jaguar has been treated to much maintenance work during the vendors tenure including various services and an extensive refresh to the paintwork. The paintwork retains a deep shine and the interior is presented very nicely. Offered from 19 years of single private ownership this XJS has been owned by just two families from new and comes with a sizeable history file detailing its past. Included in the file are many previous MoT test certificates, maintenance invoices, a V5 registration document, a current MoT test certificate valid until July 2021 and the original service and workshop booklets. Also present is the original toolkit and the spare wheel. A nicely presented example of the flagship 5.3 litre V12 XJS which has established itself as a most worthy, latter-day, classic.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1908 De Dion-Bouton AL2 8hp Rear Entrance Tonneau Transmission: manual Mileage: The names of De Dion and Bouton are inextricably linked with the pioneer years of the motor car, initially in company with Trépardoux in the building of light steam carriages, the first of which appeared in 1883. In the early 1890s De Dion and Bouton turned their attention to the internal combustion engine, much to the annoyance of Trépardoux who quit in 1894, leaving his erstwhile partners to develop what was, in effect, the first high-speed internal combustion engine.Engineer Bouton's power units developed significantly greater output than their contemporaries from Daimler and Benz, yet matched them for reliability. Small wonder then that De Dion Bouton engines were adopted by many other manufacturers both in Europe and the United States. Early 137cc engines ran at speeds of up to 1,500rpm, and the first internal combustion-engined tricycles were built in 1895. The 250cc engine of 1896 developed approximately 1.75hp and made the contemporary Benz engines seem positively antiquated. Early De Dions were rear engined and of the vis-à-vis type – where the passengers sat facing the driver but from 1902 onwards a more conventional layout for a motor car was adopted, one of the first of this kind being the Type O. By this time, De Dion's fast-revving, single-cylinder engines were offered in 4 1/2hp, 6hp and 8hp variants. All featured mechanical inlet and atmospheric exhaust valves, and were noted for their reliability, which is borne out by the number surviving today. The De Dion offered here although registered on the V5 as a 1906 at present is verified by the Veteran Car Club of Great Britain as a 1908 example of the 8hp with desirable rear entrance door which, when new, we believe cost £208. With right hand drive and wheel steering, it represented De Dion-Bouton's latest thinking at the time of its introduction, embodying important developments in design, construction and coachwork in advance of the firm's earlier quadricycles. Presented in green coachwork with beige trim, this example was purchased by our vendor from the ex De Dion-Bouton Club Chairman and the history file includes details of both operating instructions and the model line ups from the era and the full report from the Veteran Car Club. Offered in very good order with a recently rebuilt engine this car has also known modifications including Zenith Carburettor and electric starter. A wonderful example of an iconic turn of the century vintage motorcar with the engine to which De Dion-Bouton made an inestimable contribution to the early development of the automobile. 1972 Triumph TR6 Transmission: manual Mileage: 22954The Triumph TR6 was manufactured for seven years from 1969 and by the time production came to an end in July 1976, it was the best-seller of the TR range. The bodywork closely resembled that of the previous model, the Triumph TR5, but the front and rear were squared off and all TR6s featured inline six-cylinder engines. For the US market, the engine was fitted with carburettors whilst, for other world markets including the UK, the TR6 was fitted with fuel-injection. It featured a four-speed manual gearbox, independent rear suspension, rack and pinion steering, 15 wheels and tyres, pile carpet on the floors and boot, bucket seats and a full complement of instruments. In total 94,619 TR6s were built of which 86,249 were sold overseas and only 8,370 were sold in the UK.First registered on 1st August 1972, the BMI Heritage Certificate for this lovely TR6 shows the car was built on 9th May 1972 and left the factory the day after. This desirable ‘CP’ 150BHP car was a UK home market supplied vehicle, which included the overdrive gearbox option from new. The overdrive gearbox has been rebuilt and the vendor reports it to change both smoothly and efficiently. The engine also benefitted from a full rebuild, at which time it was lightened and balanced, had an unleaded conversion, TH5 camshaft fitted, spin on oil filter, electric fan, Bosch fuel pump, high torque starter motor, all running through a stainless steel exhaust system. The differential was also reconditioned with strengthened mountings and polybushes. More recently it has had electronic ignition fitted, with a full service in 2018 at a cost of £728.88 by renowned Revington TR and another £1,513.01 spent in 2019, again by Revington TR. When the engine was rebuilt the car also had the dashboard restored and MX5 seats fitted, with the carpets and hood presenting in immaculate condition. The speedo and tacho have been refurbished, reading accurately with no needle bounce. The whole car has just been subject to a comprehensive recommission, with the vendor reporting it to run and drive beautifully.Supplied with its UK V5C registration document, BMI Heritage Certificate, previous MoT test certificates and many receipts. This example, offered in its ultimate high powered specification, is not to be confused with the average TR6. Its condition is fantastic and it presents like a freshly restored car.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1958 MG A Roadster Transmission: Mileage: When the MGA arrived in 1955, it must have come as quite a shock to MG aficionados who had become accustomed to the pre-war look of the company's sports cars. It was a complete departure in styling and its beautiful streamlined body was right up to the minute in terms of appearance. It was powered by a new engine; MG had decided that the old XPAG unit had had its day and so introduced a much more modern B-Series engine that had made its debut in the recently announced Magnette saloon. The 'A' was officially launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1955. Only 5,869 cars were sold on the home market, giving the MGA the highest export percentage of any British car and was replaced by the MGB in May 1962.This delightful MGA presents well in dark green metallic with black trim piped in cream. Manufactured in 1958 and originally registered in the United States, 167 YUF was repatriated to the UK in 2011. On its return the car benefitted from a restoration which included a conversion to right hand drive and the fitment of a five speed gearbox. This handsome MGA has seen little use recently but fired into life when requested and we are informed is a delight to drive. The history file that accompanies this car includes a V5C registration document, previous MoT test certificates and sundry invoices. Sitting proudly on chrome wire wheels with a recently fitted new hood, this usable MGA is realistically priced. 1967 MG B Roadster Transmission: manual Mileage: 3981The MGB was launched in May 1962 to replace the MGA. Introduced as a four-cylinder roadster, a coupé with 2+2 seating was added in 1965. It was a relatively modern design at the time of its introduction, utilising a monocoque structure instead of the traditional 'body-on-frame' construction used on both the MGA and MG T-types. The lightweight design reduced manufacturing costs while adding to overall vehicle strength. The performance was considered brisk at the time of its introduction aided by the relatively light weight of the car. This MGB is presented in gleaming white and black leather interior with white piping. The black hood and matching full tonneau cover are complemented by a stylish chrome luggage rack mounted on the boot lid. Sold by Historics to our customer in 2017 and having been enjoyed by him since this MGB is presented with an MoT test certificate which expires in March 2021. A lovely example with electric fan and braided hoses to the delightful engine bay and with its wire wheels giving it that classic British sportscar appeal, this iconic little gem will be a joy to drive and will bring a smile to anyone’s face.Guide £12,000 - £15,000 Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1994 Maserati Ghibli II Granturismo Transmission: automatic Mileage: 51749The Maserati Bi-Turbo came in a number of different format's however the Ghibli II was by far in a way the more desirable, better built with improved styling and better designed interior comfort. The return of the Maserati Ghibli in 1992 was trumpeted by its maker as a hugely important milestone with this example representing the top-of-the-range form. With the iconic analogue Maserati clock set into walnut dashboard, these well-appointed Italian classics are becoming increasingly desirable. It takes a very specific collector to absorb a Maserati into his or her collection, they need looking after in order to keep performance levels as they should be and the condition up to scratch. Fortunately, right from the word go, this car benefits from a comprehensive history folder detailing works that have taken place throughout its lifetime. With just four previous keepers, significant sums have insured that this car has been maintained to the best possible condition. The history folder details over £18,000 spent with not only Maserati specialists but the best Maserati specialists available, that is to say, Bill McGrath. This includes not just spark plugs and air filters but a full engine rebuild, new turbo's, new cambelts, new brake discs and pads all round as well as complicated brake pipes. The paintwork has also been refreshed to an exceptionally high standard for no other reason that there were a few age-related marks which the previous fastidious owner wanted to take care of. 1991 Porsche 928 GT Transmission: manual Mileage: 122338Critics immediately recognised the advances inherent in the 928 over the 911 and it was universally praised as one of the greatest GT cars of all time. It handled, it was quick, it looked fantastic, and it was comfortable. With the 928, Porsche created a serious long-distance grand-touring car that could also tackle twisting B roads with ease thanks to super direct steering, fifty-fifty weight distribution and a clever Weissach rear axle that kept the car firmly planted. Many road testers found that their nerve ran out long before the 928’s grip. Porsche continuously developed the 928 throughout its production life, culminating with the launch of the S4 in 1987 which differed slightly from the earlier cars with its smoothed-off front and rear bumpers, larger rear spoiler, more interior equipment, and a five litre version of the V8 engine developing 316bhp. 1989 saw further development with the launch of the GT model, featuring a more powerful five litre engine creating 326bhp, but more importantly, the introduction of a five-speed manual gearbox for those who wanted a sportier driving experience. This lovely, rare right hand drive Porsche 928 GT is fitted with the desirable five-speed ‘dog-leg’ manual gearbox and has recently been repainted and the leather seats repadded. The cambelts and diff lock pump were replaced in 2018, less than 500 miles ago. The car has also just been serviced and completely gone through, approximately £10,000 has been spent on this Porsche over the last three years. Looking resplendent in black with black leather interior, this 928 GT is supplied with a V5 registration document and has an MoT test certificate which expires in 2022. It is believed that only 38 right hand drive, manual 928 GTs were supplied to the UK market making this one of the rarest Porsches that any collector or enthusiast could own.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1975 Triumph Stag Transmission: automatic Mileage: 25568The ‘Stag’ name was a development codename allocated when the design project was initiated by Giovanni Michelotti in 1965. None of the subsequent names suggested through the process were ever deemed more compelling, 55 years later, the Triumph Stag still occupies one of the cornerstones of the collector’s car market. The svelte Michelotti styling married to decadent V8 power makes this model both beautiful to look at and enormous fun to drive. Add to that a thriving club network, these cars make for hugely desirable ownership.Fresh from an eight year passion project restoration carried out by a retired automotive painter, this Stag has been finished to a very high standard with no stone left unturned. The history file shows over £6,000 spent in parts and panels alone, along with a further £4,000 spent on an engine rebuild by renowned Stag specialist N&P Motors. This, of course, doesn’t include the many hours labour the vendor worked on the car himself, which would have run into thousands of pounds if carried out by a restoration business. The engine has covered barely 500 miles since its total rebuild, also benefitting from many of its ancillary components being rebuilt or replaced at the same time, such as the addition of a new updated Mk. II radiator.Whilst the car had already been restored in the early 90’s, by the time the vendor acquired the car in 2011 it required attention to the bodywork and so a total restoration began. With the help of the well respected motorcycle and classic car restorer Glen Moody, every panel showing any sign of rust was repaired or replaced before being given a bare metal respray in its original and desirable colour of Topaz Orange. Taking three months to complete the welding alone, the car benefitted from new door skins, outer sills and membrane, all four outriggers, two floor panels, the boot floor, the front and back valances, the valance lip, the two rear wings and their inner wheel arches. Equal attention was paid to the interior, with the dash being re-veneered at a reported cost of £500. The seats and headrests also received sympathetic attention and the hood was replaced at the same time. New chrome bumpers along with freshly refurbished wheels and many other details all help this car stand out from the crowd. Reported to run and drive without fault, it starts and sounds beautiful with that newly rebuilt V8 rumbling away. Supplied with its UK V5C registration document, previous MoT test certificates, many receipts from both its most recent restoration and its previous one, as well as its factory hardtop which boasts a heated screen. A rare opportunity to acquire a freshly restored, solid, late model Stag in the most desirable colour. Surely one of the best.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1970 Fiat 500L Transmission: manual Mileage: 72468Designed by Dante Giacosa, the Fiat 500 was produced between 1957 and 1975 with limited production of the Fiat 500K estate continuing until 1977. Measuring only three metres long and originally powered by a tiny 479cc two-cylinder, air-cooled engine, the 500 redefined the term 'small car' and is considered one of the first city cars. Despite its diminutive size, the 500 proved to be an enormously practical and popular car throughout Europe, capturing the hearts and minds of the public. The 'L' or Lusso was manufactured between 1968 and 1972 and featured a much more up to date interior including a renewed dashboard that gave the 500 a more modern feel. This UK registered right hand drive example has benefitted from a full restoration which included new body panels and paintwork. The transmission has been rebuilt and the stopping power has been improved with the addition of Pirelli Cinturatos front disc brakes. The 650cc power plant has the addition of a performance camshaft and a larger carburettor. A performance exhaust was fitted as were new kingpins, new driveshafts and couplings, new wheel cylinders along with new hoses and pipes. The interior of this 500 has had inertia reel seatbelts fitted, a new folding roof, new carpets and door cards. The overall look is complemented by new bumpers front and rear. The file for this cutest of all Fiats contains a photographic record of the restoration. Presented to auction with a V5C registration document, this MoT test exempt Fiat is offered without reserve.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1975 MG B GT Transmission: manual Mileage: 30700The fixed-roof MGB GT was introduced in October 1965. Production continued until 1980, although export to the U.S. ceased in 1974. The MGB GT sported a ground-breaking greenhouse designed by Pininfarina and launched the sporty 'hatchback' style. By combining the sloping rear window with the rear deck lid, the B GT offered the utility of a station wagon while retaining the style and shape of a coupé. This new configuration was a 2+2 design with a right-angled rear bench seat and far more luggage space than in the roadster. Relatively few components differed, although the MGB GT did receive different suspension springs and anti-roll bars and a different windscreen which was more easily and inexpensively serviceable. This lovely example is presented in white with red leather interior. This wonderful British classic has been extensively rebuilt over the last eight years to a high standard and using some new parts where necessary. The history file contains many invoices for all the parts renewed and a list of the work carried out in chronological order. Its interior is in excellent condition with the walnut dash gleaming as it should, complementing the red leather and white piping to the front and rear seats. Its 1800cc engine is mated to a four-speed gearbox, with overdrive which makes it great for modern day driving and is ready for the next owner to enjoy.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1983 Land Rover Series III 88” Country Safari Transmission: manual Mileage: 59170The iconic Land Rover Series I, II, and III are commonly referred to as ‘Series’ Land Rovers to distinguish them from later models. These easily recognisable vehicles were produced by the world famous midland manufacturer from 1948 until 1985. Land Rover state that 70% of the vehicles are still in use today. A superb achievement for any motor manufacturer. This fantastic 1983 Series III with desirable Safari top was originally registered in December 1983 and as such was one of the last Safari to come off the production line benefiting from all Land Rovers enhancements, such as tinted windows, wing mirrors fitted on door hinges and rear wiper. This example has benefitted from a sympathetic restoration to an originally excellent Series III Safari Station Wagon, boasting original bodywork, chassis, bulkhead and interior the quality of which is easy to see. The car now presents wonderfully in Land Rovers red coachwork complemented by a contrasting white Safari roof and classic white steel wheels. 2003 Jaguar XKR Convertible Transmission: automatic Mileage: 101569The XK8 is a grand tourer car that was launched in 1996 and was the first generation of a new XK series available in both coupé and convertible body styles and with the new 4.0 litre Jaguar AJ-V8 engine. The 1998 XKR was introduced with a supercharged version of the engine. Both the XK8 and XKR are electronically limited to a maximum of 155mph; the top speed of its predecessor, the XJS V12, being 158mph. A navigation system and self-levelling xenon headlamps came as standard with the XKR with Jaguar's adaptive cruise control as an optional feature available on both models. Both come with all leather interior, burr walnut trim and side airbags. Jeremy Clarkson, during a Top Gear test drive, likened the interior of the original XK8 to sitting inside Blenheim Palace. This lovely convertible example of this desirable model is presented in the best colour combination of metallic blue with Ivory leather interior and comes with a full service history. Its wonderful interior has Recaro memory seat and a Jaguar satellite navigation unit and it also comes with a new stainless steel exhaust and 20 inch Detroit wheels which have been refurbished and shod with new tyres. 1962 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II Transmission: automatic Mileage: 79249The Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II was a massive improvement over its predecessor, the Cloud I. The six-cylinder engine gave way to a 6.2 litre, V8 increasing its top speed to over 110 miles an hour; significant given the sheer size and proportions of this most elegant of motor cars. It's monocoque frame was also a significant advantage over the previous coach-built examples, especially combined with increased acceleration, torque and accompanying power steering. This example, chassis SAE437, was originally delivered through the James Young Limited, Bromley territory to Brady's Motors of Essex. Its final destination being Frank Yovell Esq of Biddenden in Kent. Presented in, it was additionally ‘spec’d’ from the factory with electric windows, a 630T radio and Dunlop tubeless tyres. Sometime later, this vehicle found its way to the sunny state of California in the USA where it remained under the ownership of Mr. Kim Stapp. In 2013, it was repatriated and became the property of Mr. Simon Holloway of Spilsby in Lincolnshire. After another sale in 2020, a full inspection and overhaul took place. This included the removal of the master cylinder and rebuild, new brake pipes as required, new brake hoses, new exhaust sections, new spark plugs and tuning all to a figure just shy of £6,000. Also included are a number of MoT test certificates, the latest of which expires in November this year. The paint finish, in a classic Cloud colour combination of ‘sable over sand’ with matching beige leather interior is, though thoroughly presentable, arguably not up to the good structural state of the factory coachwork and in due course could be refinished. This most elegant example drives well and could be used quite happily and driven from the sale.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 2001 MG Rover ZS180 Transmission: manual Mileage: 91446The MG ZS 180 is a sports saloon car built by MG Rover between 2001 and 2005 and was the flagship vehicle produced at Rover’s Longbridge factory. Being developed from the Rover 45 but just as the Rover was a luxury saloon, the MG was produced as a sporting saloon and was leaning heavily on the Honda heritage at the time by utilising the double wishbone front suspension, fully independent multi-link rear suspension and uprated springs and shock absorbers giving the MG a lower, firmer ride with better handling. The braking system was improved with larger disc brakes front and rear as well as ABS and EBS assistance. The ZS 180 was fitted with 2.5 litre V6 24 valve four cam engine producing 175 BHP giving an official top speed of 139 MPH with 0-60 in 7.3 seconds. Visually the 180 has a deep front bumper with a bib spoiler and built-in fog lights with lower side sills, a large rear wing was offered as an option but 17” sports alloy wheels with 205 tyres came as standard. This example is presented in silver with a black and blue interior and comes with two sets of keys, the owner’s handbook and has only had three owners from new, the present owner having owned it since 2004.
