Lot 1333

-Click here to bid -   1977 Ford Capri 1600  Reg. no. SOO 428R Chassis no. 6AECTJ02864 Engine no. TJ02864  When Ford introduced the Capri in 1969, the intention was for the model to be a hit in Europe in the same way that they had had with the North American Ford Mustang. The running gear was based on the Cortina and although the design was a fastback coupe, Ford wanted the Capri to be affordable to all potential buyers. Ford made the model available in several engine sizes in order to achieve this. We understand that this car has not been restored and it is in good presentable original condition. This brown 3-door hatchback is sold with a current V5c.

Lot 1335

-Click here to bid -   1981 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow  Reg. no. EHT 407W Chassis no. 5RH0041489 Engine no. 0041489  In 1965 Rolls-Royce introduced the Silver Shadow as a modern car for all occasions. It was powered by a 6.2 litre V8 that meant this luxury saloon was capable of 100mph with ease. From the models inception, there was a continual process of improvement and refinement. This particular Shadow is in good overall condition, having just been repainted and in this current ownership the car has been serviced regularly. Last year new front discs and calipers were fitted and our vendor tells us that the car drives and performs very well. There is a selection of bills available that total £61,000 for work carried out on the car over the years, the car now has a current MOT (expires in June) and it is sold with a V5c.  Estimate: £3,000 - £4,000

Lot 1336

-Click here to bid -   Circa 1952 Ferguson T20 Tractor  Reg. no. n/a Chassis no. Unknown Engine no. Unknown  This model is by far the most successful design of Harry Ferguson and was a highly effective lightweight tractor that is still popular with enthusiasts today. This example requires restoration and will be a rewarding little project. Such a tractor would be very useful addition to any collection purely for moving vehicles around without strain.   Estimate: £600 - 800

Lot 1338

-Click here to bid -   1976 MG Midget 1500  Reg. no. PYJ 984R Chassis no. 6AN6-1858966 Engine no. 32716  The Midget was designed as a small engined sports car with few refinements and it was initially powered by a 1,098cc engine. This was increased to 1,275cc and finally to 1,493cc in 1974. This was the Mk. III which by this stage was offering customers a little more for their money. This Midget is very good in all departments and our vendor believes that the car has had a Heritage body shell at some time in its life. The car is sold with its V5c.  Estimate: £?????

Lot 1340

-Click here to bid -   1973 Triumph 2000 Dolomite Sprint   Reg. no. XNP 33M Chassis no. VA3019DC Engine no. VA002&&0HE  Triumph Cars always represented good value for money and when introduced to replace the popular Toledo, the Dolomite’s equipment was updated to a level higher than that of its larger siblings. Although the Dolomite proved to be refined and rapid, competitors such as the BMW 2002 had a performance advantage which was costing Triumph dearly, both in terms of sales and prestige. To remedy this, Triumph unveiled the Dolomite Sprint in June 1973, although the launch had been delayed a year. At launch the Sprint was priced at £1,740, which compared extremely well to similar cars from other manufacturers. Prospective buyers would have been hard pressed to justify the extra £1,000 cost of the BMW 2002 which offered similar performance. Motor magazine had this to say: ‘the Sprint must be the answer to many people’s prayer. It is well appointed, compact, yet deceptively roomy. Performance is there in plenty, yet economy is good and the model’s manners quite impeccable…Most important of all, it is a tremendously satisfying car to drive.’ We are told that this car had a full engine rebuild only 10,000 miles or so ago and that it is good in all respects. It is sold with its V5c.  Estimate: ???

Lot 1341

-Click here to bid -   19th Century Funeral ‘Bier’  Reg. no. n/a Chassis no. n/a Engine no. n/a  A bier is traditionally a flat frame, usually wooden, that was used to carry a coffin into a Church. This example is unusual in that it was designed to be pushed or pulled by hand, rather than horse led, which leads one to think that it was designed for those families who could not afford anything else. This piece appears in good original condition and interestingly is returning to its previous home when it arrives in Castle Combe, as it bears a plaque indicating that it was purchased by the ‘Parochial Church Council of Castle Combe Parish May 1934’. Surely a must for any collection?  Estimate: £500 - 800
