BREGUET; an important and rare silver and gold quarter repeating full hunter pocket watch with lever escapement from the collection of Lord Raglan, circa 1820, the engine turned case engraved with the arms of Lord Raglan, with silver band and pendant, cuvette numbered and hallmarked, quarter repeating pull and plunge button in band at '1', no.3720B, 40, with gilt long lever escapement movement, fine brass escape wheel with oil retention holes, bimetallic compensation balance, with compensation screws, sprung balance jewel for pivot protection, polished hammer striking on a single coiled gong and with silvered dial set with black Roman numerals to outer minute divisions, gilt Breguet moon hands, and offset subsidiary seconds dial between 5 and 6, diameter 51mm, approx 106g.Sold to Crosbie 15th May 1823 for 4,700 francs. This watch was included in the Lord Raglan Collection and was the property of The Marquees of Londonderry. Originally when this was bought it was already a very expensive watch indicating that it included many of Breguet's innovations for watches - one of the rarest and most remarkable is the use of the straight line lever escapement which was an adaption of the lateral lever escapement used by the English and by Breguet himself in earlier watches. This version was in time adopted by horology as a whole and forms the base of most modern mechanical watches today; rarer still is the use of oil retention holes in the teeth of the escape wheel. Breguet flirted with ideas for extending the life of the oil by placing a conical reservoir for the oil leading on each tooth - however, as it was expensive and not very effective, it did not become a regular feature in his watches.Purchased Messrs. Bonhams 21st June 2017.Additional InformationLight surface scratches and a tiny dent to the case, no mention of working order is given on any watches. Some toning and tarnishing to the silvered dial.
BREGUET; a fine and rare gold repeater open face pocket watch, circa 1815, with engine turned case, silvered dial set with black Roman numerals, Breguet moon hands and inscribed 'Breguet et Fils', with cuvette no.3236 (matching the case), and also signed with full cylinder escapement to the movement and with pull and twist a toc (dumb) repeating piston in the pendant, diameter 54mm, approx 125g.

N.660', the case no.2276-42596 and with full lever escapement movement, diameter 55mm, approx 115.2g.Additional InformationThere are light surface scratches to the case and to the cuvette, no guarantee to be in working order but having wound the watch, the seconds hand is moving freely, some surface scratches to the glass and some toning and tarnishing to the dial. Tiny marks where the glass meets the gold rim where the gold has slightly misshapen.Balance wheel moving freely

Presenting rather well in Peacock Blue with a classic Rolls-Royce cream interior 30,544 miles indicated which could well be accurate, however, we have no paperwork We understand that it does drive but needs a battery This is a lovely straight old Spirit that looks to have been cared for on offer at No Reserve NB. On offer from a private collection, this vehicle has not been used for some time. It is a non-runner and is strictly sold as seen. There were no real surprises in Autumn 1980 when Rolls-Royce unveiled their new Silver Spirit and its long wheelbase counterpart, the Silver Spur, alongside Bentley's sporting Mulsanne range. The well-proven 6,750cc V8 engine previously used in the Silver Shadow was retained and now had slightly more power (228bhp and a mighty 330lb/ft) but the styling was much more modern and angular, being longer, wider and lower and with 30 per cent more glass area. Road-holding was reported to be "the best yet from Rolls-Royce" thanks to significant improvements to the self-levelling rear suspension and the new car could waft up to 60mph in just 10 seconds with a top speed of 125mph. Interior appointments were as luxurious as ever, using only the finest hides and veneers, the most noticeable change being the adoption of separate rear seats. "A gloriously individual possession that signifies impeccable excellence and taste, an extravagant celebration of detail over function, a monument in the driveway and an occasion to drive," was how Autocar summed it up. Dating from 1982, this Silver Spirit presents really well, and with a little bit of detailing could be rather special. 30,544 miles indicated which, judging by its condition, could well be correct but there is no paperwork to corroborate. It does drive and we believe just needs a battery. Incredibly it's on offer at No Reserve. Click here for more information This car was consigned by Simon Langsdale. Dating from 1959, right-hand drive and first UK registered on 25/05/1962 Two-year glass-out, engine-out, floor out restoration 1994/1995 Complete retrim (£1,800) in October 1997. Full engine rebuild (£639) in 1998 Still looks good in Cream with a super red leather interior, fabulous dashboard and original radio A lovely example of a rare car and, when further detailed, would make a good show car NB. On offer from a private collection, this vehicle has not been used for some time. It is a non-runner and is strictly sold as seen. Carl Borgward was a hands-on industrialist, who owned, and micro-managed Hansa, Goliath, Lloyd and Borgward brands in Germany. By the 1950s, they were running fifth in the German sales league, although there were clouds on the horizon, the company becoming insolvent in 1961 having put too much effort into the American market which was having troubles of its own. In truth, Borgward's strategy of constantly introducing new models was causing reliability issues, inefficient tooling usage and market confusion, but that didn't stop the concern making fine cars, which in the case of the Borgward Isabella, competed at the upper end of the market. Their bread and butter models were the Isabella two-door saloon and estate models, but to add some glamour, Borgward introduced the elegant coupé as on offer today. With overtones of Mercedes 190SL in the styling and BMW-influenced engines, they offered strong 80+mph performance from their modest 75bhp 1,493cc engines. There is little early history of this 1959 German coupé apart from some tax discs and MOTs from the early eighties, however, we know that it was first registered in the UK in May 1962. It was acquired in August 1993 by Tony Hunt of Tipton who had been looking for one for some months. There is a small article in Practical Classics Magazine (Jan 1996) telling the story of his two-year glass-out, engine-out, floor out restoration of 772 ELC and a number of photographs including some taken presumably at the end with the car looking very smart on a show stand. There is an MOT on file dated May 1996 at a mileage (km?) of 52,640. 772 ELC was subsequently purchased on 15/02/1997 by David Palmer from Oxford who owned it until 29/11/2009 and judging by the amount of invoices in the file that relate to immediately after his purchase, he was not too impressed with the restoration. Too much work to list here but the important bits are a complete retrim by Minns of Oxford in October 1997 (£1,800) and an engine rebuild (rebore, new pistons, crank regrind, new mains, big ends, small ends) £639 in June 1998. The Isabella has been part of a collection since 2014 but, pleasingly, has remained in decent condition. As well as all the invoices, MOTs photographs etc. it's supplied with the original 'Operating Instructions' in English. This is a lovely example of a rare car and, when further detailed, would make a good show car. Click here for more information This car was consigned by Simon Langsdale. The Burgundy coachwork appears straight with a good depth of finish Interior slightly scruffy. Ox Blood leather well-patinated and could do with a feed 77,632 miles indicated however there is no paperwork with the car Turns over and the fuel pump is working. Probably just needs a new battery and fresh fuel Great basis for a refresh or just use as is Illustrated registration number NAM 36 does not form part of the sale NB. On offer from a private collection, this vehicle has not been used for some time. It is a non-runner and is strictly sold as seen. Launched in 1966 as a two-door version of the Silver Shadow, the coachbuilt Mulliner Park Ward Coupe was a superior car to the saloon on which it was based. With fabulously elegant coachwork designed by Bill Allen, each and every one was handbuilt by MPW in a necessarily lengthy process that took all of 20 weeks and resulted in a price some 50% higher than the standard Silver Shadow. Only the very finest materials were used with different seats and dash to the Shadow, engine power went up by 10% and tweaks to the suspension and steering geometry gave an even better ride. Demand for these magnificent cars was so great that the waiting list was measured in years, not months, a state of affairs that resulted in them being given their own model name, Corniche, in March 1971. The Corniche was progressively developed over time, gaining features like split-level air conditioning, rack-and-pinion steering, Bosch fuel-injection and self-levelling rear suspension. Reassuringly exclusive, only 1,108 Coupes were made before production ceased at the end of 1981, though a convertible version continued as the flagship model in the Rolls-Royce range until 1996. Finished in Burgundy, this example appears straight with a good depth of finish. Attractive Corniche interior is slightly scruffy and the Ox Blood leather is well-patinated and could do with a leather feed. 77,632 miles are indicated however there is no paperwork with the car so this cannot be corroborated. It's believed to run and turns over freely but will need a battery and fresh fuel. Great basis for a refresh or just use as is. A good looking, two-door saloon attractively finished in medium grey over light grey Appears to be an original right-hand drive car. MPH speedo (91,860) MOTs up to 2008 Very smart, nicely appointed interior in red, presumably retrimmed. Cream painted and Bakelite dashboard in good order. Original Borgward Radio Fitted with the more powerful TS engine (1493cc, Twin Solex, 75bhp) Damaged steering rack-would straighten. Currently a non-runner NB. On offer from a private collection, this vehicle has not been used for some time. It is a non-runner and is strictly sold as seen. Borgward's new Isabella range was released in 1954 as a replacement for the Hansa, employing monocoque construction and sold in a number of different guises, including a two-door saloon, coupe, cabriolet and estate (Combi). With elegant Trans-Atlantic styling and plenty of chrome, the Isabella was a handsome alternative to Opel and Ford, neatly bridging the gap to more expensive offerings from Mercedes-Benz. Under the bonnet, Borgward's compact four-cylinder engine was mated to a four-speed, all-synchromesh gearbox via a hydraulic clutch, using a column-change lever typical for cars of the period. The standard engine's output was 60 horsepower but a more powerful 75 horsepower unit (known as the TS and using two Solex twin-choke carburettors) was used in the cabriolet and later found its way into the saloon. With independent suspension using a swing axle at the rear, the Isabella handled well and proved a willing performer, with excellent road manners. The Isabella's bespoke cabin was nicely appointed, with plenty of space for four adults to travel in comfort, the padded dashboard and large steering wheel both typically Germanic features. The Isabella remained in production until 1962, but Borgward was sadly in receivership and no replacement was forthcoming. In total some 202,862 Isabellas of all types were made over an eight-year period, making it commercially successful although few survivors remain on the road today. With a strong following around the world and plenty of support from the owner's club in the UK, the Isabella is an interesting alternative to other makes of the era. FSM-Fiat built in Poland. Left-hand-drive and first registered on 07/07/1983 Finished in a light Satsuma Orange with a smart Tan/Biscuit vinyl interior The original owner, a retired Polish Army officer covered 27,000 miles in 25 years Indicated mileage is 31,472 supported by ownership blogs and MOTs V5c, owner's handbook and an interesting history file Currently a non-runner but probably hasn't been started in a number of years NB. On offer from a private collection, this vehicle has not been used for some time. It is a non-runner and is strictly sold as seen. The Fiat 126 (Type 126) is a four-passenger, rear-engined city car, introduced by Fiat in October 1972 at the Turin Auto Show as a replacement for the Fiat 500. It used much of the same mechanical underpinnings and layout as its Fiat 500 rear-engined predecessor with which it shared its wheelbase but featured an all-new bodyshell resembling a scaled-down Fiat 127. Engine capacity was increased from 594cc to 652cc at the end of 1977 when the cylinder bore was increased from 73.5 to 77 mm. Claimed power output was unchanged at 23bhp. The Fiat Polski 126p was produced in Poland from 1973 until 2000 and was identical to the original version when first launched except for a higher chassis, a modified grille on the rear and front indicators. Over the 28 years of production, the vast majority of these little cars hailed from Poland. This example is left-hand drive and was built by FSM-Fiat in Poland in June 1983 finished in Orange with a Tan/Biscuit vinyl interior, undersealed from new and equipped with FSM mud flaps, rubber mats, a variable speed wiper and a radio. It was first registered on 7/07/1983 to a retiring army officer to be used occasionally during his retirement. There is quite a lot of history with the car and we understand that it was fitted from new with a 600 (594cc) Italian engine as the first owner was high-ranking within the Communist Party and was offered a better deal (the 600 had been replaced by the 650cc at that stage so who knows?). We believe that the little Fiat covered just 27,000 miles before being imported to the UK in 2008. From the file, we learn that during its first UK owner's tenure he removed the engine and fitted a new clutch, electronic ignition, fuel filter, front spindles, hub carriers, shock absorbers, brakes and rear wheel cylinders. New lights were fitted and he added a Fuel Cat to the tank (details in file) and the car now runs on unleaded fuel. The Blaupunkt DAB Radio/CD player is a more recent addition. The indicated mileage is 31,472 which is almost certainly correct given the history file/old MOTs etc. It's accompanied by its V5c, owner's handbook, the history file and has a fire-extinguisher under the bonnet. It's currently a non-runner but that's probably a result of sitting in a collection for 6 years. With some interesting provenance, in this condition and at No Reserve this little Fiat seems a cracking proposition. Click here for more information This car was consigned by Simon Langsdale. Powered by a four-cylinder 1,133cc OHV engine coupled to a three-speed synchromesh gearbox Between 1947 and 1949, the manufacturer produced 3,015 timber bodied conversions Running and driving up until seven years ago. Now a non-runner Around 88,000km and it's accompanied by its French Carte Grise Could be in demand in the film/TV industry NB. On offer from a private collection, this vehicle has not been used for some time. It is a non-runner and is strictly 'Sold as Seen'. Formerly producers of tools, coffee mills, umbrella spikes and corsetry, Peugeot commenced its long-standing connection with transport in 1885 when it added cycle manufacture to its portfolio. The second oldest motor manufacturer in the world, the company commenced car production in 1889 with a steam-powered tri-car but soon abandoned steam in favour of the internal combustion engine, building a succession of ever-larger automobiles before introducing the first of its famous Bébé light cars in 1900. New for 1939, the Peugeot 202 was powered by a four-cylinder 1,133cc overhead-valve engine coupled to a three-speed synchromesh gearbox with worm drive rear axle. The suspension was independent at the front and the 202 followed the lines of the larger 402, its streamlined styling reflecting the late-1930s preoccupation with passenger-car aerodynamics. Between 1947 and 1949, the manufacturer produced 3,015 timber bodied "Hatch" (hatchback) conversions: this model cost 55% more than the Berline (saloon) and anticipated future Peugeot policy by using a slightly longer chassis than that used on other 202 versions. The extensive use of timber took the company back to a technology that it had abandoned in 1931 when production of the Type 190 ended, and according to the manufacturer was above all a response to the shortage of sheet steel in post-war France.A very rare survivor of an already rare model, the Peugeot 202 offered here is an example of the Canadienne 'woodie' estate car variant. Attractively finished in maroon with trademark wooden doors and a beige cloth interior it was running and driving up until a few years ago. Currently, a non-runner but looks to have potential and would be regularly employed in the film/ television industry. We understand it has covered around 88,000km and it's accompanied by its French Carte Grise. Click here for more information This car was consigned by Simon Langsdale. Manufactured by Citroën between 1961 and 1978, the Ami 6 was a supermini and for several years was the best-selling car in the French home market. When the company eventually decided to replace it, a total of 1,840,396 units had been sold globally. It was often called the Citroën 3CV (Three Horses), as the engine size of 602cc was a little bit larger than the upper limit of the 2CV taxation class, and was offered as either a four-door saloon, four-door estate, or a two-door van. The early models were thrust forward by a 602cc air-cooled twin, not generating too much 'G-force' which was probably just as well given that the front seats easily unclipped and could be used as picnic chairs. The Ami 6, along with the Ford Taurus, were the first vehicles fitted with rectangular headlights, an innovative design that went against the view that all headlights had to be circular. Despite having dramatic modern styling, the initial sales were as slow as the car (0-50mph in just over half a minute) as it was judged to be too expensive, however, things quickly picked up and it was ultimately much loved. A major revision to the Standard Vanguard range occurred at the 1958 Motor Show in London, when the Phase 3 was visibly restyled in the, then-popular, "Italian" style. The redesign had been carried out by Michelotti (who styled the Triumph Herald) in conjunction with the Italian coachbuilder Vignale by which name the new model henceforth was called. Mechanically the Vignale Vanguard remained much as before, but externally featured a revised brighter range of 2 tone paint finishes, (separated by a thin chrome side strip), full-width chrome & polished aluminium radiator grille, revised rear lamps and stylish wheel trims. Another major revision was a revised roof pressing with larger front and rear window apertures giving a more modern appearance. Additionally, the Vignale was also offered with the 4-speed floor change as an option. Click here for more information This car was consigned by Simon Langsdale. Launched in 1949, the wonderful A90 Atlantic was by far the most flamboyant model in the otherwise staid Austin range. Looking like no car before or since, it ultimately proved a brave gamble that did not pay off. The retro-futuristic styling (art deco with a rocket age twist) was penned by Ricardo 'Dick' Burzi, Austin's chief stylist who had been poached from Lancia after being forced to flee Italy when he insulted Mussolini (not a good idea in the 1930s!). A riot of chrome, curves and quirkiness, the Atlantic was aimed squarely at the American market and was instantly identifiable by its Cyclops-style third headlamp. Available as a Sports Coupe or a Convertible, it featured almost unheard of luxuries such as powered windows and, in convertible form, a hydraulically operated hood. A range of innovative 'Jewelescent' metallic colours was also offered in shades such as 'Seafoam Green' and 'Desert Gold'. Powered by the same torquey 2.6-litre four-cylinder engine that later found fame in the Austin-Healey 100/4, it had a four-speed column-change gearbox and could cruise all day at 80mph with another 12mph on tap when needed. To prove its sporting credentials, a convertible A90 broke 63 'stock car' records at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in April 1949, pounding round the track non-stop for seven days and averaging over 70mph including halts for fuel. Sadly for the A90 though, its launch was totally overshadowed by the even more sensational Jaguar XK120 and fast though it was, its Steady-Freddy four-cylinder engine did not have the appeal of a US V8 or the Jaguar 6-cylinder. Despite Austin's best marketing efforts, only 350 were sold in America and just 7,981 were made in total before production ground to a halt in 1952. With only a handful still surviving, these glamorous machines rarely come to market and are increasingly sought after today. A tool-room copy D-Type Shortnose - a collaboration in 2005 between Jerry Booen (ex-Lotus design engineer/D-Type luminary and David Duffy) Two years in construction utilising, whenever possible, either original or correct period parts Fitted with a period-correct, 3.4-litre, dry-sump unit running triple 45DCO3 Webers and a genuine D-Type, 4-speed all synchro gearbox Aluminium hand-formed bodywork from specially made bucks. Steel frame monocoque/aluminium tub. Correct instrumentation and seating. Bolted-in Roll Hoop (for straightforward removal) Supplied with some old FIA papers, build details and its history file Offered at a fraction of what it would cost to replicate, especially considering the number of priceless and virtually unobtainable original parts used in the build The triple, Le Mans-winning Jaguar D-Type will need little introduction. Following on from the C-Type's victories in 1951 and 1953, the new D-Type, with its state-of-the-art chassis encompassing a central monocoque section, improved rear suspension and a more powerful XK engine, handsomely won the Vingt Quatre Heures du Mans in 1955, 1956 and 1957. Among the most desirable of collectors' cars worldwide, today even the 'customer' cars, let alone the works cars, will cost millions if you can even find one. Therefore, the opportunity to acquire a genuine sixties Jaguar two-seater that has been fully restored, re-engineered and re-clothed in effectively a 'tool-room' copy of D-Type by quality craftsmen, requires serious consideration. This particular, 'Short Nose' recreation, however, is no ordinary replica. In April 2005, two knowledgeable and highly skilled enthusiasts came together to build an exact copy of a Production D-Type. Jerry Booen is an ex-Lotus design engineer and in more recent times heads up the specialist team at 'D-Type Devs', whilst his colleague at the time was David Duffy, who had been a competitor for many years and during the period when this car was being built, owned and raced 'XKD 544'. Jerry had amassed a virtually complete set of drawings for the car and over time, had collected a range of incredibly rare parts using a useful contact in New Zealand. A document in the accompanying history file details the impressive specification of the build which we list here: Engine: 3.4-litres, triple Weber 45DCO3 Carburettors, dry sump Transmission: Genuine D-Type 4-speed, all-synchro box, live rear axle Bodywork: Aluminium panels hand-formed on specially made bucks Monocoque: Steel frame in an aluminium tub Suspension: Wishbone front, trailing arms rear at the rear with torsion bars Brakes: Plessey pump powered system with 6-pot/4-pot discs Roll Hoop: Bolted in to make removal straightforward Interior: 'Correct' instrumentation and seating Wheels: Original Dunlop alloys, 6.00/6.50 on 5-inch rims The result of all of this is a highly impressive, both technically and cosmetically, 'tool room copy' of the iconic D-type. Where possible, either original or period-correct parts were rebuilt and used, including the engine, gearbox, rear axle, wheels and carburettors. As this was between 2005-2007, Jerry and David did manage to find some original parts, a task getting more difficult with the passing years. Where period parts were not available, remanufactured D-Type spares including the front suspension were bought from historic racing specialists. In cases where parts needed to be made from scratch, original drawings were used as was the case for the chassis frame, brakes, monocoque and bodywork. After completion, FIA papers were granted and the identity of a 1962 Jaguar E-Type was used for the road registration (Chassis 860552). The accompanying history file includes details of all this as well as the old FIA papers. Naturally, it's finished in British Racing Green with the correct Apple Green interior, both seats are fitted with Willans full harnesses, and the car sits on original Dunlop alloys wearing a set of period Cinturatos. After the obligatory shakedown and road tests, the car was passed onto a well-known collector who owned it for the following 7-8 years. In more recent times this special car has formed part of a large collection and an approved roll cage (bolted-in to make removal straightforward) has been professionally fitted expanding the number of options available. Offered at a fraction of what it would cost to replicate, especially considering the number of priceless and virtually unobtainable original parts used in the build, this special homage to the iconic D-Type looks remarkable value. It would be welcome at prestigious events anywhere and can offer enjoyment and pride of ownership both on the road, or with some further investment, as a glorious race car to grace the circuits of Europe. This is high praise when you consider the large number of 911 models that have been built over the 50+ years since the model's introduction. The Carrera RS (Renn Sport) is still, to this day, the benchmark 911, the beautiful lines only being matched by the sheer delight of driving it, with its positive steering, exhilarating sound and linear performance. Built before the American "ugly bumper" era and the oil/fuel crisis, the RS had a purity of purpose that was not compromised by outside factors. For this reason, the Porsche RS Replica market has grown enormously and demand is far outstripping the supply of quality machines. The majority of RS recreations are based on later 911s, however, the immaculate evocation here is based on an original 1971, 'D'Series 2.2-litre 911E, a rare and valuable car in its own right.Dating from 1971, this Porsche 911E was originally left-hand drive and belonged to Crispin Dawes who lived in Balmoral Ridge in Queensland, Australia. It was raced locally during the 90s and was involved in a light rear-end accident in 1996. A few months later he decided that rather than repair the car he would convert it to right-hand drive and create the ultimate homage to the legendary 2.7 RS.This work was entrusted to Autohaus Hamilton of New South Wales, well-established Porsche specialists and they were to be involved with the car right through until 2013 when it was shipped to the UK. In total there are 30 pages of detailed invoices from Autohaus amounting to almost 95,000 Australian dollars and anyone considering the purchase of this lovely RS needs to spend some time examining these as, in addition to the 2.7-litre engine, 915 gearbox, body restoration and major parts, every nut, grommet and washer that went into this car's preparation is listed. The first invoice ($21,100) is dated 19-12-2003 and runs to 5 pages and includes the replacement 2.7-litre RS engine, 915 gearbox and clutch. Over the next 8 years, the work appears to be spaced out, but reading through, it's obvious that correctly replicating a '73 RS was the priority. The odometer readings increased between invoices so we assume the car was being used regularly. In June 2012 it was fully stripped again and was sent to the "panel shop" for an engine out, glass out respray in the correct shade of Viper Green. In October 2013, the Porsche was purchased by a well-known enthusiast in Norfolk to add to his collection and shipped in a container later that month. There is correspondence with HMRC in the file confirming the import and that all duties and taxes have been paid. The car was UK-registered in December 2013 as BAD 1K.Although very happy with his new Porsche, our collector eventually decided that the interior, the majority of which was original RS was not up to the standard of the rest of the car and asked the Porsche Centre Tonbridge to refresh the car's interior, retaining all the carefully sourced RS parts and sort out one or two little niggles and this was carried out in January 2015. (Invoice in the file). At the same time, a new fuel tank was fitted complete with fuel pump, sender, filter and hoses, the rear brake disc backplates were replaced, a new spare wheel and battery were fitted and all four road wheels were refurbished. The invoice totalled £6,254.77 and the odometer read 6,411km at that point. The little RS now presents superbly with a deep shine and excellent detailing. The interior looks "as if no one has ever sat in it" and the RS speedometer shows 8,017km. The whole car looks and drives every inch the '73 2.7RS and is worthy of close inspection. An original 1973 Carrera RS is out of reach for anyone but those with the deepest of pockets, but this car has so many of the dynamic properties of the 1973 icon, shares so many RS parts, is presented in excellent condition throughout, and is based on a 1971 911E a car that has significant value in its own right. The car is offered with an MOT valid until 22/04/2021, Swansea V5C, full details of its Australian restoration, UK import correspondence, and details of Porsche Tonbridge's fastidious attentions, meaning this incredible motor car is now ready for its next lucky owner to cherish and enjoy in equal measures.Stop Press. Exciting news. Today, May the 19th, we have been lucky enough to speak to the man who created this fabulous car and he has confirmed certain really positive aspects of the car's build of which we we were not aware when we wrote the original description. He explained that he had raced it for a period and following a bit of a rear-end tap he decided to convert it from left-hand drive to right-hand drive and create the ultimate homage to the legendary 2.7 RS. The work was carried out over 10 years initially and obviously all of the details are in the 30 pages of detailed invoices from Autohaus Hamilton in NSW as listed before. However, importantly, he assures us that the body panels, wings, dashboard, steering wheel and instruments are all original RS parts having being sourced over time, something we suspected but couldn't confirm, and most importantly the engine is an original 2.7-litre RS. Otherwise, the information in our original story hasn't changed and this additional information is confidence-inspiring and makes this remarkable Porsche seem even better value.Video of the Porsche 911 2.7 RS Re-creation Click here for more information This car was consigned by Nick Whale. Absolutely sparkling, 3-litre Targa from the first year of 'Super Carrera' productionFinished in Petrol Blue Metallic with a black leatherette/black and white 'pin-stripe ' velour interiorFive-speed manual box, ATS alloys, Leather Wheel, Centre Console and Electric WindowsComprehensive history from new with Autofarm, Francis Tuthill, and Porsche Centre BrooklandsCurrent mileage is 23,980. Major Porsche Service with fresh fluids on 27/01/2020 at 23,979 miles (one mile ago)Detailed Ownership History, every MOT, Porsche C of A, fully stamped Service Records in the original pouch, an original 1978 Sales Brochure, the current V5C and an MOT valid until 21/08/2020In simply remarkable condition, totally unmolested and one of the best original cars we have ever seenIn 1978, Porsche introduced their latest development of the 911, christened the '911 SC', with the SC standing for Super Carrera. Powered by a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder engine with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and a five-speed, 915 transmission, power output initially was 180bhp, subsequently 188bhp and finally, in 1981, it was increased to a heady 204bhp. 1979 was the year that Porsche had envisioned that their new 928 would replace the 911 (we are still waiting for that to happen), however, 911 sales remained so strong that Porsche revised its strategy and decided to inject new life into their core model. According to its Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, this stunning Targa was built in September 1977 for the 1978 Model Year and was finished in Petrol Blue Metallic (only available '78-80) with a Black Leatherette interior enhanced by black and white 'pin-stripe ' velours. It 's fitted with a five-speed manual gearbox, the standard ATS alloys, which look particularly good on the Targa, and optioned from new with Impact Absorbers, Headlamp Washers, Leather Steering Wheel, Coloured Windows, a Centre Console and Electric Windows. Finding a 1970s Porsche with a comprehensive history is fairly rare and, apart from an intriguing nine years, this lovely original car has just that. Initially ordered from AFN Guildford by Peter Cresswell, senior partner in the law firm, Bradstock Plunkett, the Porsche was first registered as WLY 185S on 25/11/1977. It had covered just over 3,000 miles when it was sadly stolen from Chelsea whilst the Cresswell family were abroad on holiday. No trace was subsequently found and the insurance company naturally replaced it with a similar model. Some nine years later, shortly after this second car was replaced with his third new Porsche, Peter Cresswell received an unexpected phone call from Worthing Police telling him that 'his ' Porsche had been left blocking someone 's drive and when it was reported, it popped up as 'stolen '. It had covered less than 1,000 miles in the previous nine years and remained in very good condition. It still bore the original registration suggesting that it hadn 't been stolen to sell on to the Continent or to have its identity changed and we can only conclude that whoever stole it loved it so much that they simply had to have it. It was presumably kept in a lock-up and brought out on high-days and holidays to be driven around on its original plates. Brave. It's important to note that at no point have HPI ever listed the car as 'Stolen and Recovered' and pleasingly, the car does not seem to have been recorded anywhere in this connection. Anyway, in mid-March 1987, having negotiated a figure of £11,000 with Royal Insurance, WLY 185S formally became the property of Peter Cresswell, as it was to remain until 2005. The car was used lightly over the next few years and having covered only a few thousand miles required little in the way of maintenance apart from a new heat exchanger and full service in May 1997 at 8,589 miles, however, in May 1999 the car was sent to Autofarm at 9,076 miles for a general assessment. Several head studs were found to be broken and one thing lead to another resulting in Autofarm rebuilding the complete top end with replacements barrels and heads, new pistons and rings, and associated components. From the look of the invoices on file, Autofarm carried out further mechanical attention and the invoices (all on file) from the May-September period amount to around £7,500. The Porsche was based near Banbury so it was natural that Autofarm in Weston-on-the Green continued to look after and service it which they did until its sale to Mike Gabb on 20/10/2005 with a mileage of just over 11,000. Mike and Sally Gabb enjoyed the little Porsche for almost eight years covering a total of just over 11,000 miles, with service invoices from Auto 2000 and Francis Tuthill, before selling it to Neal Gordon on 21/08/2013. Neal applied the cherished registration '2 UPK ' to the Porsche, moved it to his slot in the underground NCP car park in Cadogan Gardens and covered a total of only 1,800 miles in the following three years with the longest single trip being a 145-mile journey to Norfolk. Towards the end of his ownership Neal treated the car to four new brake calipers with pads, four correct-spec BOGE shock absorbers, greased, adjusted, renewed parts of the clutch and throttle linkages, set the wheel alignment and filled the gearbox with 'very expensive oil'. This work was carried out by Porsche Brooklands on 16/08/2016 at a mileage of 23,754. In December 2016, at an indicated mileage of 23,973, the Porsche was purchased by Graham Dacre CBE and added to his Norfolk-based collection where it was to remain until recently purchased by our vendor. The current indicated mileage is 23,980 and there is an invoice on file from Porsche Cardiff detailing a Major Service with fresh fluids on 27/01/2020 at 23,979 miles (one mile ago). With the exception of the missing nine years when the Porsche was stolen, the service history is comprehensive, however, it only covered 1,000 miles whilst in hiding and, as it was returned unmolested our 't-leaf ' presumably loved the car, so the lack of history is not an issue. The owner 's file is impressive with a detailed Ownership History, every MOT back to 1989 individually sleeved, a summarised MOT History, older V5Cs, a significant number of detailed invoices/worksheets from Autofarm, Francis Tuthill, and Porsche Centres Brooklands and Cardiff, a Porsche C of A, fully stamped Service Records in the original pouch, an original 1978 Sales Brochure, the current V5C and an MOT valid until 21/08/2020. Patently well cared for throughout its life, even by the bloke who stole it, this Targa remains in remarkable condition. It presents really well in a delightful shade of Petrol Blue, the paintwork retains a deep shine, the shut lines are factory standard, the brushed stainless-steel roll hoop appears unmarked and the ATS alloys look sharp. Similarly, the interior looks virtually showroom fresh with very little signs of wear and the black and white pin-stripe seats are quintessentially eighties but 'eighties boardroom' as opposed to 'eighties night-club'. With a warranted mileage of less than 24,000, a comprehensive history and looking a 'million dollars', this 1978 3-litre SC Targa is worthy of a place in any collection of classic Porsches. Right-hand drive, 12,700 miles only, in gleaming Obsidian Black with classic red leather6.2-Litre V8. Roof-hinged Gullwing doors pay homage to the iconic 300SLImpressive service history. Most recent in August 2019 and only a few miles sinceStructured and panelled entirely in aluminium, lightweight carbon-fibre driveshaftsNo better way to describe this vehicle other than, 'truly breathtaking', it really is special There's something utterly beguiling about a large capacity V8 and the one you'll find under the bonnet of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is an absolute peach. It's a 6.2-litre unit and was the first V8 from the AMG stable to be designed from the ground up, with its initial application being in the E63 super-saloon. The engine was further developed for the SLS with a dry-sump set-up utilising 120 unique parts and, in this guise, could muster a very healthy 563bhp. It's a simply superb engine and even when running on part throttle it rumbles and crackles like distant thunder and lightning. It's mated to a seven-speed, dual-clutch transmission complete with a 'Race Start' launch-control system enabling a claimed 0-62mph time of 3.8secs and a top speed of 197mph. The SLS is one of those machines that had modern-classic written all over it from the moment it first saw the light of day and, whilst it was the first car to be fully designed by AMG in-house, it was sadly the last to be fitted with a naturally aspirated V8. However, it wasn't just a case of prodigious power and retro-inspired styling that made the SLS a modern icon as, when 'EVO Magazine' pitched it up against some pretty serious rivals, it won the motoring press over with its blend of all-round ability and everyday usability. Pitched head-to-head with Aston's V12 Vantage, Ferrari's 599 HGTE and the evergreen Porsche 911 Turbo 'S', the AMG's depth of talent won the day. The SLS on offer here is a right-hand drive example that's only covered 12,700 miles from new (at the time of cataloguing) and is finished in the striking combination of Obsidian Black with Classic Red leather. The digital service report in the cars accompanying history file states that it has been serviced six times in its short life, with the most recent documented in August 2019 at Waterhouse Chelmsford Service Centre at an indicated mileage of 12,665 miles. Supplied with two sets of keys and an MOT valid until January 2021 this is an absolutely immaculate example with serious presence. There is no better way to describe this special vehicle other than 'truly breathtaking'. We feel that it's being offered at a realistic guide price when you consider the quality and performance on offer and, as production ceased in 2014 and Mercedes-AMG have elected not to replace the car, we can only surmise what will happen to values. Stunning, UK-supplied, right-hand drive, automatic Series 3 OTS that has covered less than 55,000 miles A matching numbers car from October 1973 as confirmed by the Jaguar Heritage Certificate Superbly finished in a deep coat of Azure Blue over Cinnamon leather with Biscuit carpets Gleaming chrome wire wheels and smart engine bay. Superbly detailed throughout Quite recently in a private collection. Remarkable condition. Museum quality 54,364 miles (atoc). Will have a fluid levels check, road test and MOT prior to being offered for sale A decade after the Jaguar E-Type arrived, the design progressively matured through various developments until 1971 when the Series 3 was introduced. Designed to showcase the new smooth and torquey 5.3-litre engine, originally developed for Le Mans, the Series 3 cars were available as a 'Roadster' (convertible) or a '2+2' Coupé. These later cars are easily distinguished from their six-cylinder predecessors by the large cross-slatted front grille, flared wheel arches, wider tyres, a pronounced bonnet bulge, updated bumpers, four exhaust tips and a badge on the rear that proclaims it to be a V12. It also featured uprated brakes, power steering as standard and a large horizontal scoop added to the underside of the bonnet to assist with cooling. The interior was entirely new in the V12, with more comfortable seating, stylish new door panels and a smaller, dished and leather-rimmed steering wheel. Being slightly larger and altogether much softer in nature, the E-Type in Series 3 form had lost the wildness of its youth but gained the long-legged touring profile, to which it was arguably better suited. Approximately 7,990 Series 3 Roadsters were sold worldwide before production ceased in 1975. We are pleased to offer this original 1973 UK-supplied, right-hand drive, automatic E-Type Series 3 Roadster which, according to its Jaguar Heritage Certificate, was built on 23/10/73, finished in Azure Blue with a Dark Blue interior and dispatched to Lex Motors of Chelmsford on 6/11/73. Prior to our vendor, the Jaguar has been enjoyed by four owners, the most recent of which, Graham Dacre, kept it in his private collection. It appears to have been hardly used over recent years as the MOT Certificate from August 2009 shows 53,712 miles and the odometer indicates 54,364 currently. In fact, it appears to have only covered two (2) miles in the last three years. In some colours, the Series 3 can look a little portly, however, this striking shade of Azure Blue really suits the car and when complemented by the Navy Blue soft top and tonneau, the chrome wire wheels and the refurbished Cinnamon interior, this is a very good looking E-type. Shut lines and bonnet fit are to factory standard and the chrome work and detailing look showroom fresh. The car is accompanied by its Operating, Maintenance and Service Handbook, the wiring diagram, a maintenance/ lubrication wall chart in the original pouch, the Heritage Certificate, its V5C and a fresh MOT. This is a low ownership, low mileage, exceptionally well presented Series 3 in a delightful colour combination and would grace any collection of classic Jaguars. First-generation R230 transformed by AMG. 13,622 miles 6-litre, twin-turbocharged, V12 producing 604bhp and 740lbs/ft Dramatically presented in Almandine Black Metallic with 19", dual-spoke AMG alloys Fabulous bespoke Designo interior with Comfort Ventilated Seats Full service-history. Six recorded services with the most recent at 13,307 miles We are in danger of running out of superlatives. Possibly the best-looking R230 in the world AMG, the official performance division of Mercedes-Benz, has a long history of producing high-performance derivatives of Mercedes' standard production vehicles, and these improved versions enjoy an enthusiastic following worldwide. When the stunning SL55AMG was introduced in 2003 with its 5.4-litre V8 producing 476 BHP and a tree stump pulling 520lbs/ feet of torque it was naturally assumed it would remain top of the range, however, AMG had a further party-trick. A year later the SL 65 AMG arrived and was the new 'King of the Castle'. It retained the stylish looks and civilised manners of the rest of the range but was powered by a V12 leviathan capable of crushing the competition at a push of the accelerator. The twin-turbo, 6.0-litre engine delivers a remarkable 604hp which is tamed through an intricate network of safety features and keep-you-alive electronics. At 740 lbs-ft, the torque output is sufficient to keep you pinned in the immaculately stitched leather seats, in any gear at any time, whilst the five-speed automatic transmission with manual capability provides a good level of control. Distinctive 19" dual-spoke AMG-signature alloys camouflage the eight-piston caliper performance brakes and the suspension has been subtly tweaked to deal with the general increase in numbers. Performance is documented at 0-60mph in 3.6 secs and 0-100 mph in 7.5 seconds. All in all, a beautifully packaged amalgam of huge power, sumptuous comfort and window-rattling noise. This distinctive, original UK-supplied, right-hand drive, SL65AMG was ordered from Greenoaks Mercedes in late July 2004 and from the original purchase invoice, we can see that it was specified in Almandine Black Metallic with Designo Single-tone exclusive leather, Designo Maple door caps, Designo Anthracite carpets and Comfort Ventilated Seats bringing the overall total to a substantial £151,239.19. The Pre-Delivery inspection sheet is dated 16-11-2004 and is in the history file. At the time of cataloguing the indicated mileage is 13,622 and this is corroborated by the service booklet which records six services at Mercedes-Benz /AMG dealers with the most recent at Mercedes Norwich on 11-10-2019 at 13,307 miles. There are invoices in the file that detail these services and any additional works that were required as well as a complete complement of MOTs going back to 7-01-2007 including the current one which is valid until 20-04-2021. The car appears to be in superb condition throughout and is supplied with both keys and the complete owner's manuals in the correct binder. The R230 is one of the best-looking cars from the period and the larger-engined AMG cars have become collectable modern classics. Considering that less than 14,000 miles ago over £150,000 would have been necessary to own this fabulous, top-of-the-range Mercedes, today's guide seems sensible indeed. Civilised supercar performance sprinkled with some AMG magic dust At launch, the 5.5-litre V8 engine propelled the car to 62mph in 4.2 seconds Finished in Iridium Silver with an Alpaca Grey leather interior. 18" AMG multi-spoke alloys Six Mercedes-Benz service stamps, most recent at Mercedes-Benz Swansea on 31/05/2019 at 24,605 miles Extensive spec from new. Bose sound system, CD-changer, Keyless-Go, Carbon trim Accompanied by all the book packs, older MOTs, service receipts and both keys Introduced in 2002, after some five years in development, the R230 Series SL Roadster was an engineering 'tour de force'. Painstakingly modelled on a state-of-the-art supercomputer which enabled the designers to analyse every curve and line, it looked utterly sensational with an air of barely contained aggression that gave it huge road presence. Packed full of sophisticated electronic driver aids which made it immensely safe but also fun to drive, it was an instant hit with press and public alike and is widely considered to be the best-looking Mercedes for many years. The power-operated aluminium folding roof was particularly admired and would disappear into the top of the boot at the press of a button in just 16 seconds, yet still leave enough room underneath for 206 litres of luggage space. It was in 2003 that the stunning looking SL55 AMG version was introduced. Seriously powerful and massively fast, the 5.4-litre engine gave 476 BHP and a tree stump pulling 520lbs/ feet of torque! This lovely, low mileage SL55AMG was first registered on 1-09-2006. It's finished in Iridium Silver with an Alpaca Grey leather interior and was heavily spec'd from new including; Cruise Control, Parktronic, Voice Activation, Ventilated front seats, COMAND navigation, climate control. 18" AMG multi-spoke alloys, Bose sound system, CD-changer, Keyless-Go, Carbon trim and much more resulting in a purchase price of £89,113.12. We understand that it's third owner added the car to his extensive collection in September 2011 and it has been lightly used until recently. The service records indicate that it was serviced at 2,680, 5,993, 8,300, 13,247, 23,918 and most recently at 24,605 miles on 31-05-19, all by Mercedes-Benz dealers. Invoices detailing these A and B Services and any additional work carried out are in the history file alongside the V5c, previous details of Cherished Number transfers, older MOTs and the current MOT valid until 12-05-2021. The odometer currently reads 24,968 miles. The Mercedes-Benz book pack is complete and both sets of keys are there. This SL55 AMG presents really, really well and appears almost unmarked. The engine bay appears showroom fresh and the whole car has patently been looked after. Ballistically quick, fabulous looks, continent covering pace, yet as civilised in town as a Toyota Corolla, it's no wonder that some supercar owners tend to get a little upset. A three-door SWB GR SE-spec superbly finished in Morello Red over Grey Metallic Fitted with the smooth and powerful, 2.8-litre, intercooled, I-6 turbo diesel One owner on Jersey until first registration in the UK during January 2020 Has never had a tow bar fitted or even been off-road. Used as a family car rather than a 4x4 Full book pack, four main dealer stamps, most recent by Nissan Swansea 10/02/2020 There are unlikely to be any other Patrols from this era in this condition anywhere It's hard to believe that in one form or another, the Nissan Patrol has been around for over forty years. It's come a long way. Whereas it used to be a touch agricultural, the Patrol has evolved into a 4x4 that's not short of creature comforts. Post-1997 Patrol models can be identified by their 'GR' trim designation and were exclusively diesel-engined with the SE-spec cars taking the model even further upmarket. This superb, fifth-generation (Y61) Patrol is a rare 3-door SE powered by a 2.8-litre turbocharged inline six-cylinder producing 128bhp and mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. It's very attractively finished in Morello Red over Grey Metallic and sits on a set of unmarked silver alloys wearing an equally smart set of Maxxis Bravo AT 771 tyres. It was first registered on 29/10/1998 and remained in Jersey with its original owner until arriving in the UK in January 2020. During its time in Jersey, it was used lightly as a family car, never having a tow bar fitted and never having been off-road. Its owner was obviously proud of his Patrol and looked after it fastidiously as it remains in unbelievable original untouched condition, easily confused with a brand new car inside, out and underneath. The engine bay would be at home in a showroom and even the tyres have the branding picked out in white paint. We believe that it's highly unlikely that there are any other Patrols from this era in this condition anywhere. It's accompanied by its original book pack with the Owner's Manual, Service Schedules, Dealer List, Alarm Manual, the current MOT valid until 10/02/2021 and the Maintenance Record showing four main dealer stamps, the most recent of which was by Nissan Swansea on 10/02/20 at 29,170 miles. Right-hand drive, UK car originally supplied by Graypaul in Loughborough on 01/10/1999 Fitted with the 6-speed, electro-hydraulic, F1 gearbox and finished in Rosso Corsa with Rosso-piped Crema hide A staggering 400bhp from the 3586cc V8. 0-60 in 4.4 seconds and 186mph 7,595 warranted miles from new supported by a comprehensive service history Full Ferrari book pack in unmarked condition. Spare Key. MOT valid until 19/04/2021 Truly immaculate with a detailed history, one of the most attractive 360 Modenas we have ever seen In 1999, Ferrari knew that it was time to replace their much loved 355 and consequently the 360 was introduced to critical acclaim and immediately set a new benchmark for supercar styling and performance. The 360 Modena design was revolutionary, making extensive use of lightweight materials in its construction resulting in a much lighter car along with substantially increased rigidity. Ferrari also paid particular attention to improving the under-body aerodynamics using knowledge gained from their F1 programme and the 360 boasts a completely flat bottom with two prominent rear diffusers. The 3586cc engine produced a staggering 400bhp, resulting in a 0-60 time of just 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 186mph, and the Pininfarina designed bodyshell presented an exceptionally clean, low-drag profile without the need for additional wings, flares or blisters. Another striking feature is the large glass rear screen that proudly displays the engine in all its glory. Introduced at the Geneva Show in March 1999 the 360 Modena, not unsurprisingly, swelled Ferrari's order books and within weeks there was a two-year waiting list. Originally supplied by Graypaul in Loughborough to Kevin Hurcum in Kent on 1-10-1999, this right-hand drive, 360 Modena is finished in Rosso Corsa with Rosso-piped Crema hide and Scuderia Wing Shields and was ordered with the 6-speed, electro-hydraulic, 'F1' gearbox. At the time of cataloguing, the Ferrari had covered a total of 7,595 miles, a figure corroborated by a full collection of MOT Certificates and Acknowledgements of SORN. The service history is as you would expect from such a cherished example and the Service Book details that it was serviced on 9/05/01 (H.R.Owen) at1,306 miles, 23/04/03 at 3,975 miles (cambelts) Graypaul, 25/05/04 Graypaul at 4,614 miles, 12/07/07 Terry Keys at 6,506 with cambelts and ball joints and 11/02/2020 (Graypaul) at 7,569 with cambelts. The current MOT dates from 20-04-2020 (7,583 miles) and is valid until 19-04-2021. It doesn't appear to have needed much mechanical attention over the years, apart from routine servicing, but those few invoices that are in the history file are from the best names, Graypaul, Lancaster, Terry Keys and JCT600. The tan leather Ferrari wallet that accompanies the car is as immaculate as the rest of the car and contains the Owner's Manual, Owner's Warranty and Service Book, Alarm System Manual, Hi-fi System Manual, Hi-Fi Warranty, Ferrari UK Warranty, Ferrari Assistance paperwork, Ferrari Dealers List, the original Ferrari Torch and spare keys. Truly immaculate, with a detailed history, and sensibly guided, this is one of the most attractive 360 Modenas we have ever seen. Click here for more information This car was consigned by Nick Whale. Conceived by General Motors as a high-performance flagship for its European Marques 3.6-litre, straight-six with twin turbochargers producing 377bhp and 419lb/ft. 6-speed ZR1 box Superbly-balanced rear-drive chassis, limited-slip differential and ventilated discs Dating from June 1992, Number 811 is one of only 284 right-hand drive Lotus Carltons produced The Imperial Green Pearlescent paint retains a deep shine. Superb Anthracite leather Comprehensive service history from new. Fastidiously maintained. Refreshed early last year Less than 100,000 miles, MOT valid until January and in remarkable condition The legendary Lotus Carlton is the kind of car that comes along once in a generation. At a time when really fast four-door saloons were the preserve of BMW and Mercedes, this Vauxhall (Opel) derived 'super-saloon' arrived on the scene demolishing the opposition. Oddly, it wasn't its huge performance or masculine good looks that created the most fuss, but the fact that the Daily Mail was so outraged by its stated top speed of 176mph, that it declared it too fast for British roads. Of course, the Lotus Carlton - or Type 104 to Lotus aficionados - was nothing of the sort, and although it shared its major components with a mainstream executive car, its level of development across every aspect of automotive dynamics had resulted in a truly special performance car. It was powered by a twin-turbo version of the venerable straight-six used in the range-topping Senator, which developed a remarkable 377bhp. To achieve that figure, Lotus had put a lot of work into the 3.6-litre power unit, uprating and strengthening the bottom end, porting the 24-valve cylinder head (from the Carlton GSI), and fitting forged 'slipper' pistons made by Mahle atop new Lotus-designed connecting rods tied to a counterweighted, forged steel crankshaft. The gearbox was the same six-speeder used in the Corvette ZR-1, the only transmission in GM's parts bin, capable of handling the car's monster torque. AP 'Group C' derived brakes - four-pot calipers with 330mm ventilated discs at the front and two-pot at the rear - sat behind specially developed Goodyear tyres. Performance was brisk, to say the least. 0-60mph came up in 5.0 seconds, 0-100 was dispatched in 11.1 seconds and in 1992, Autocar Magazine recorded a time of 17.0 seconds for their 0-100-0 challenge, 2nd best behind an F40, however, it's the car's maximum speed of 176mph that will always be quoted by its fans. Lotus Carlton (SCC0000019N1231798) was 'Signed from Production' on 23/06/1992 and granted Limited Edition Number 0811G. In common with every other Carlton, it was finished in Imperial Green pearlescent with Anthracite Connolly leather and despatched to Frosts (Cars) Ltd. in Shoreham-by-Sea who registered the car (K909 MFG) to its first owner on 14/01/93. Within the History File is the Lotus Carlton Maintenance Programme (Service Book) which contains a stamped Pre-delivery Inspection by Frosts which is followed by a 1,000-mile service on 21/1/1993 at 851 miles and a 'First Main Service' on 2/8/1993 at 9,095 miles. Frosts carried out the car's 2nd Main Service in early 1994 and on 13/05/94, '811' was registered to Brian McMullan in Cookstown, Co. Tyrone, NI. The following three services were carried out by Vauxhall Dealers (Carlton specialists) 'Savilles Auto Village' in Lisburn with the latest of these being on 15/04/96 at 43,547 miles. It returned to England and was registered to Paul Nevill of Knebworth as K33 NEV on 26/07/96 and he enjoyed ownership of '811' until very recently. In March 2006, cherished registration K33 NEV was replaced with K909 MFG. Frosts of Shoreham returned to servicing the vehicle and carried out the next four services culminating with the 8th Main Service on 11/11/98 at 78,068 miles. Mr Nevill was obviously particularly fastidious as between early 1997 and January 2006 there are a total of 19 invoices from marque specialists for servicing, minor repairs and ongoing maintenance amounting to £14,995. The mileage at the most recent (27/01/2006) was 98,595 and the odometer reads 99,392 now so the car has covered less than 800 miles in the last 14 years having mainly been on SORN. In February 2019, '811' was refreshed by GB Autos of Colney with a bill for £1,652 and there is a very recent account (4/03/2020) from Saxon in Neath for £120 that relates to an oil and filter change. The current MOT is valid until 25/01/2021. It's obvious that this Carlton has been totally cherished, the Imperial Green paintwork retains a deep shine and the ruched Anthracite leather looks almost unmarked. The five-spoke alloys are excellent, the engine bay is very tidy and well detailed and the dashboard is crisp with bright instruments and 'LE 811' proudly displayed on the glovebox lid. The car is accompanied by its Owner's File with older MOTs, SORN documents, V5Cs, the Lotus 'Certificate of Vehicle Provenance', the aforementioned invoices, the bespoke green leather Lotus Carlton book pack with the service record and a spare set of keys. All in all, this is an original and unmolested example of these very collectable 'super saloons' and, in this remarkable condition, would be an asset to any collection. UK-supplied, right-hand drive R107 280 SL, indicating just 69,582 miles (atoc) Delightfully presented in Cabernet Red Metallic with a matching factory hardtop Superb interior in Cream Beige MB-Tex with unmarked Burr Walnut veneers Smooth, fuel-injected straight-six producing 182bhp and 176lb/ft. 4-speed automatic box With its original handbooks and service book along with a substantial history file. Serviced most recently at Mercedes-Benz With Pagoda prices now out of reach, the equally stylish R107SL is a very attractive option Some cars just get better looking with age and the R107 Series Mercedes-Benz SL is definitely among them. Overshadowed for a long time by its graceful 'Pagoda' predecessor, it's now becoming better appreciated for what it is - a beautifully built sports roadster that is totally dependable. To this day, no car door closes with a more reassuring 'thunk' than a Mercedes SL, and everything about the car suggests solid engineering. Fast, comfortable and discreetly understated, the SL has a matchless ability to munch up the miles for year after year without ever seeming to falter. No wonder it stayed in production, fundamentally unaltered, from 1971 until 1989 - the longest production run of any Mercedes car to date. First registered in May ready for the summer of 1985, the original owners must have been rather pleased with their choice when they collected their gleaming new Cabernet Red Metallic Mercedes-Benz 280 SL, we imagine quickly driving home from the dealership to stow the factory hard-top on its stand at the back of the garage before setting off to enjoy open-top motoring at its very best. Today this example pleasingly continues to present well with the paintwork retaining a deep shine and the tasteful Cream Beige MB-Tex and Burr Walnut interior looking cared for. Clearly this SL has lived a pampered life and this is supported by a comprehensive history file with the most recent services carried out by a Mercedes-Benz main agent. In our vendor's words ''On the road, she is a fine GT tourer with a lusty performance from the super twin-cam engine allied to the smooth four-speed auto gearbox''. It's supplied with the original books including the service booklet stamped up-to-date and the above-mentioned history file containing old MOTs and related invoices. Good, well looked after examples of the 107 are becoming increasingly difficult to source and, offered at a very realistic guide having covered less than 70,000 miles, we believe this lovely Mercedes represents superb value for money and, at the very least, will offer its new owner many years of enjoyable motoring. From Rock Legend, Jay Kay's, amazing collection. Owned by Jay for the past nine years. One of his favourite cars Very rare and desirable. One of only 64 UK-built, right-hand drive cars and one of only 18 with the Getrag 5-speed manual box Classic Alpina bodywork with deep front splitter, boot lid spoiler, 16" Alpina wheels and 'Deco Set' graphics 135,000 miles. E28 six-cylinder engines are known for their longevity. Excellent history, service records etc Sounds and looks superb and at this guide price, combined with rock star provenance, this is a rare opportunity This is one of 500 B9 3.5s (E28) built between 1981 and 1985 of which just 64 are understood to have been right-hand drive examples. Of the 64, 46 were supplied with ZF automatic transmission, with only 18 (including this car) being optioned with the far more desirable Getrag five-speed manual gearbox. Costing almost twice that of the BMW 528i SE (E28) on which it was based, the B9 3.5 offered huge power and performance increases over the standard car. Manual transmission B9 3.5s were easily the fastest saloon cars of their day. According to Autocar, 0-60mph required just 6.3 seconds and top speed was 153mph putting the E28-based Alpina on a par with Porsche's then-current 911. Left-hand drive examples were built by Alpina at Buchloe while right-hand drive production took place at Sytner in Nottingham. Cars destined for transformation were supplied by BMW with certain modifications already in place and then further enhanced with a long list of Alpina upgrades. The B9 engine had been developed from the unit used in BMW's 635 and 735 variants. Uprated by Alpina with a gas-flowed cylinder head featuring hemispherical combustion chambers, bigger inlet valves and a gas-flowed inlet manifold, a 268-degree high-lift camshaft and balanced pistons enabled compression to rise from 9.3 to 10.2:1. Combined with revised fuel injection settings, a reprogrammed Bosch Motronic engine management system and Alpina twin-pipe exhaust system, the net result was a conservatively rated 245bhp at 5700rpm. The standard ZF automatic gearbox was retained (a Getrag 5-speed manual box was an option) and those cars destined to become B9s always came with a BMW-fitted 25% limited-slip differential that was further uprated with an Alpina-installed oil cooler. Suspension modifications saw progressive-rate coil springs and adjustable gas-filled Bilstein dampers fitted although the original front and rear anti-roll bars stayed. New Alpina 16-inch wheels measured 7-inches wide at the front and 8 at the rear (requiring a small modification to the rear wheel arch), these light alloy rims originally being shod with Pirelli P7 tyres. Cosmetically the exterior was enhanced by Alpina's deep front spoiler, a rubber boot lid spoiler and body-coloured door mirrors, the eye-catching Deco stripe kit being an optional extra. Early examples were supplied with an amazing interior, the figure-hugging Scheel bucket seats being upholstered in Alpina's trademark grey fabric with blue and yellow stripes. Other bespoke features included an Alpina leather-rimmed four-spoke steering wheel, Alpina instrumentation, Alpina wooden gearknob and numbered dash plaque. Offered here is a beautiful B9 3.5 Alpina that for the last 9 years has formed part of a significant collection belonging to rock legend Jay Kay. First registered on 27th October 1983, this rare UK-delivered right-hand drive example is believed to be one of just 18 B9s with a manual gearbox. 64 right-hand drive cars in total were upgraded by Sytner in Nottingham (Alpina's UK partner) to this specification most of which had been delivered from BMW with an automatic transmission. Indicating 134,756 miles at the time of cataloguing 'A853 FRA' presents very well, the black paintwork retains a deep gloss and the Alpina clothed Scheel sports seats are superb. Accompanying the car is the original book-pack and a substantial history file containing a wealth of old MOTs, invoices dating back to the mid-80s and some correspondence between the previous owner and Jay Kay, both clearly BMW enthusiasts. It appears that shortly after purchasing the B9, Jay Kay instructed a thorough inspection from a marque specialist with all areas requiring attention to be taken care of. Pleasingly, a customer copy of an invoice for the purchase of this car from Sytner of Nottingham can also be discovered in the file, dated 1st September 1986, and this invoice clearly shows the full Alpina B9 specification leaving little doubt on the authenticity of this particular Alpina. Having been well maintained over the years and carefully selected for a good reason to form part of a diverse and interesting collection of motorcars, this is an opportunity to take ownership of this truly superb super saloon from the 1980s. A modern classic that really stands out from the crowd and should rightfully be preserved for future generations to see and admire. Performance BMWs continue to have a strong following and this Alpina is sure to be the talking point of any classic car show you choose to attend. Launched to compete with the Lamborghini Muira and upgraded to compete with its successor, the Countach, the 'BB' was the first production Ferrari to be fitted with the boxer-type 12-cylinder engine derived from the Formula 1 unit of the period. The architecture was not that of the classic front-engined and rather upright, V12 Ferraris of old and it could be argued that the BB was the first 'proper' mid-engined Ferrari. The Boxer's moniker was derived from the fact that the cylinder banks form an angle of 180°, resulting in an engine with a flat, rectangular shape which enabled the car's centre of gravity to be lowered. The horizontally opposed pistons were said to resemble a pair of boxers alternating punches and the 'Boxer' nickname was to stick for this engine layout, even when used by other manufacturers. This low centre of gravity enabled the designers to pen the assertive stance that was to be typical of all future Ferraris. The BBi was the final evolution of the Boxer and was launched at the Frankfurt Auto Show in 1981. The styling was left largely unaltered, but the car now featured an advanced, and far more reliable, Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection system offering 360bhp at 6,200 rpm, 0-60mph in 5.4 seconds and 179mph. Maranello's investment in mid-engine engineering ensured the BB's stylistic DNA was to be around until production of the Ferrari 328 ended in 1989, some 18 years since the launch of the original Boxer, the 365 BB. In the UK, just 42 right-hand drive versions of the BBi were ever imported making this model a very rare, desirable and collectable car. This, best of breed, UK right-hand drive 512 BBi is one of those 42 cars and was supplied new by Colmore Depot of Birmingham on 16th June 1982 finished in the classic colour combination of Rosso with Tan leather. It has the distinction of being one family-owned from new as the original owner is our vendor's father who has himself owned several significant Ferrari milestone cars over the years, including a Daytona, 308 GTS, 328 GTS and a 355 GTS which he still drives regularly at the age of 84! Passing the car to his son in 1998, it has since been enjoyed on a number of UK and European tours over the years, whilst being professionally maintained by a mix of Ferrari main agents and respected specialists. The comprehensive history file includes all relevant service invoices and documentation from new, as well as details of a substantial restoration which took place in 1997. This included a full-body repaint and an engine-out service with a 512TR single plate clutch conversion ~giving a lighter feel to the clutch and a much-enhanced driving experience. Today, the car has covered just 20,964 enjoyable and incident-free miles, making this one of the lowest mileage examples available and, looking at the photographs, it's clear to see that this is a very original car that's been cherished from new, well maintained and properly stored throughout its life. This is the first time that the family have ever offered the car for sale and, as such, it represents a very special opportunity for the discerning Ferrari enthusiast. The 944 Turbo Cabriolet combined the Turbo S' 250bhp engine with the strengthened cabriolet body built by ASC at Weinsberg Only 625 were built, with just 100 examples produced in right-hand drive for the UK, Japanese, Australian and South African markets Classically finished in Guards Red with a Classic Grey (TT) leather interior and grey carpets throughout Original and fully stamped Porsche Service Book plus numerous invoices for maintenance and previous MOT Certificates, helping support the indicated mileage Factory stickers still in situ, two sets of keys and a complete book-pack suggest careful ownership This is a simply lovely example of one of the rarest and most sought-after Porsches from the 1990s Following the international success of their nimble 924, Porsche designed an all-alloy, 2.5-litre inline-four for their new 944 which they planned to introduce in 1982. Their talented engineers were able to produce a very smooth running four-cylinder engine by utilising two counter-rotating balance shafts running at twice engine speed. These carry eccentric weights which produce inertial forces that balance out the unbalanced secondary forces, all a bit technical but the result is a large four-cylinder engine that feels as turbine-smooth as a six. Cosmetically, the 944's bodywork was revised with wider wheel arches (similar to that of the 924 Carrera GT), a fresh interior and upgrades to the brakes and suspension. With greater visual presence and the performance to match, better handling, stopping power and more creature comforts, the 944 was a natural step forward. A 'turbo' version of the 944 was always on the cards, and the forced induction boosted the 2.5-litre engine by a healthy 60bhp, necessitating an upgraded clutch and gearbox. The chassis was further developed and thicker anti-roll bars and four-pot brake calipers were fitted to deal with the significantly increased performance. Externally, a smoother nose panel and a larger rear spoiler distinguished it from its lesser siblings. In February 1991, the final year of 944 production, Porsche released the 944 Turbo Cabriolet which combined the Turbo S' 250bhp engine with the strengthened cabriolet body built by the ASC-American Sunroof Company at Weinsberg. Compared to the Coupé the Cabriolet's windscreen is lowered about 6cm and raked back to reduce the wind noise when the top is down. Porsche initially announced that 600 would be made, but ultimately 625 were built, with just 100 examples produced in right-hand drive for the UK, Japanese, Australian and South African markets. These are rare cars, produced for just one year, with only 32 examples believed to still reside in the UK. Presented here is a UK-supplied, right-hand drive, 944 Turbo Cabriolet supplied new by Porsche Centre-Strattons of Wilmslow Ltd. on the 1st August 1992. Finished in the ageless Porsche colour combination of Guards Red with a Classic Grey (TT) leather interior and grey carpets throughout, this car is in superb condition and has today covered just 50,000 miles (approx.). It was supplied with options 220: a limited-slip differential with 40% lockup with reinforced inner plates and molybdenum coated differential shafts (as standard), 233: tyre specification, 573: air-conditioning, 605: headlight aim control and 946: leather/ leatherette seats. It was serviced by Porsche Centres (Strattons, Chariots, AFN) from 2,789 miles to 19,968 miles, and latterly by marque specialists. It's supplied with the original fully stamped Porsche Service Book, numerous invoices for maintenance, and older MOT Certificates, which help corroborate the indicated mileage. Now being sold from part of an enthusiast's collection, this car has recently benefited from a full service (including cam-belt) in 2016. Bought by our vendor from a Porsche main dealer, unfortunately, a change in circumstances now means he must sell the car. This fabulous, open-top, Porsche has obviously been well-maintained and presents, both mechanically and cosmetically, really well. Small but important details like factory stickers still in situ, two sets of keys and a complete book-pack help support its careful ownership. This is a simply lovely example of one of the rarest and most sought-after Porsches from the 1990s. The 944, the 968 and even the 928 are seeing their values rise in the wake of the '911 explosion' and front-engined Porsches are having the Renaissance they richly deserve. This great example, whilst being competitively guided, opens the door into a very exclusive club. Click here for more information This car was consigned by Joe Watts. Driven by legends such as Stuck, Cecotto, Ravaglia, Soper, Pirro, and Quester to name but a few. The road version has gone down in the history books as the most flattering saloon car chassis of all time.Offered straight from the amazing stable of rock legend and Jamiroquai frontman, Jay Kay, this car started life as an original road-going M3. More recently Classic Heroes were commissioned to develop this fabulous example into a competition car. The emphasis during this build was on turn-key usability and for it to remain comfortably drivable on the road as it was, naturally, essential to be quick and safe on track and occasionally driven long distances to a circuit. The owner wanted to use the car at events all over Europe and it had to fit in with his busy lifestyle with no dependency on tow bars and trailers! This M3 was originally supplied to Germany in 1987. The original engine is now a 2.5-litre competition unit with a balanced and lightened crank, rods, modified cylinder head, camshafts and converted to valve shim under the bucket. Running with a carbon airbox and programmable ECU, it now gives 260 bhp at the flywheel and also features a short shift gear-change, as well as an internal oil pressure gauge and Lambda gauge. Additionally, the car has sports suspension, competition rear shock top-mounts, negative camber front top-mounts, a front strut-brace, a rear strut-brace, poly-bushed suspension joints and a competition-ratio steering rack. AP competition front brake discs and callipers are fitted with competition rear brake pads and front brake ducting along with braided brake lines. The car sits on 17" BBS split-rims with wheel spacers and Toyo Proxes R888 R tyres. Finally, Recaro front seats with Schroth 6-point harnesses sit inside a 6-point, bolt-in Safety Devices roll cage with padding. The steering wheel is a Momo removable version with a Motorsport footrest and a competition fire extinguisher. Its looks are enhanced by carbon mirrors, a carbon Sport Evo rear spoiler and an Evo 2 front chin spoiler and it's presented in a works livery that can easily be removed if a more subtle track appearance is required. In January 2020, the car was entrusted to International Rally Engineers, Dansport of Chesterfield to be prepared for Jay to drive in Rally Isla Mallorca in March. Whilst in Dansport's care, they fitted a front lightbox and a Monit trip meter. Running as "Car Zero" at the front of the Legends rally, both car and driver were very competitive as can be seen in the video below this description. The car finished the event competitively and without incident and is presented today as it finished ~ turn-key and ready to be used again in sprints, hill climbs, stage rallies, or as a perfect track day car that can be driven to any event, yet still be competitive. And that sound...nothing comes close! Click here for more information This car was consigned by Nick Whale.
