Chinese bronze figure of Songzi Guanyin with child, holding a ruyi sceptre in her right hand and pouring water from a bottle in her left, her hair neatly coiffed and covered with a long cowl sheltering the Amitabha crown, wearing a fine robe, a small infant beside her, a dragon at her feet, four-character seal mark of Qianlong, (1736-1795), late Qing Dynasty, 22.5cm highSongzi Guanyin, or the 'Bringer of Sons,' demonstrates the importance of male children within Confucian family structure. They ensured not only the continuity of family and clan, but that there would be uninterrupted generations to carry on the rituals of ancestral worship. The Child-Giving Guanyin was prayed to by worshipers for healthy children and intelligent male heirs.

A late 19th century Chinese zinc tea cannister with engraved and chased chinoiseries and traditional design, approx. 17cm high x 14.8cm wide, a 20th century Japanese ink stone, having script and trees design to detachable cover, and a modern cased brass foo dog small seal. (3) Further details: some loss to metal trim to sides of cannister, wear, scratches and some dents/marks, generally stable. ink stone has some loss, scratching and wear to places. Wear commensurate to age.

(9.5cm.) high, together with five snuff bottles, comprising a spinach green jade style snuff bottle of tapered spade form, a carved red cinnabar lacquer snuff bottle, white porcelain snuff bottle painted with a bearded man, white porcelain snuff bottle painted with a landscape and a blue and white porcelain snuff bottle in the form of a bearded man, all with stoppers, 2¾in. (7cm.) tallest. (6) * Seal with tiny flea-bite nibbles to corners etc, good; snuff bottles - green jade style snuff with nibbles to base rim, blue & white with hairline to neck, others good.

(96.5 x 31.75cm.), overall 54 x 15 1/8in. (137 x 38.5cm.). * Some foxing visible in places to the pale unpainted areas. Small white paint spot to the lower left margin and small brown mark towards upper right corner at top of mountain. Several horizontal creases to the paper - one at the top and another near the lower margin, and two at centre left.
