TWO CHINESE FRAMED PAINTINGS BY WANG ZHENHAI REPUBLIC PERIOD Painted with ink and colour on silk, one depicting a scene from the Beijing Opera 'The Drunken Beauty', with calligraphy reading Gui Fei Zui Jiu Wang Zhou, the other of a domestic scene with beauties playing the qin, with calligraphy which reads Shang Hai Wang Zhen Hai Hui, each with a seal mark reading Zhen Hai, 37 x 41cm. Antique Chinese blue and white porcelain wine cup decorated with rocks, flowers and bamboo, unmarked, 8cm high; a small blue and white baluster vase decorated with birds amongst flowers, unmarked, 14cm high and a miniature Kakiemon fluted tea bowl decorated with flowers and foliage, painted red seal mark to base, 4cm diam. (3).
A Chinese polished bronze censer, in the form of four peaches, with two twig handles, and applied four further small peaches and foliage, apocryphal Xuande seal mark, lacks cover, 12.5 cm high, and an associated stand, 18 cm high Provenance: Descent through the family, probably acquired by a family member who was in Consular Service in China during the late 19th century Report by RB A very thin (stress) crack to the rim, approx. 20-25 copper coloured dots, which might be holes that have been filled, mostly to just below the rim, one of the larger leaves might be missing its tip section, as the leaf has a serrated edge which doesn't go all the way round the tip, although this might be a design to have a broken leaf, one of the smaller leaves is similar, all should be able to be seen in photographs, approx. 1.275 kg
A Chinese polished bronze censer and cover, of slightly tapering ovoid form, the cover with a Dog of Fo finial and two pierced panels decorated birds, flowers and foliage, the base with two stylised bird handles, a reeded band, and on three legs, with apocryphal Xuande seal mark, 18 cm high, on an associated carved hardwood stand, in the form of a leaf, on three feet, 21.5 cm high Provenance: Descent through the family, probably acquired by a family member who was in Consular Service in China during the late 19th century Report by RB The censor has a crack of approx. 1 cm to the rim, general wear and tear, approx. 2.438 kg

A CHINESE ROBIN'S EGG GLAZED YIXING TEAPOT AND COVER 18TH CENTURY The elongated square-section body tapering towards the mouth rim, with a curved spout and a loop handle, the domed cover surmounted by an arch-shaped finial, the exterior and base covered with a mottled turquoise and blue glaze, with a six character seal mark to the base which reads Jing Xi Hua Feng Xiang zhi, 20.5cm. A CHINESE WUCAI 'CRAB APPLE' MONTH CUP SIX CHARACTER KANGXI MARK AND OF THE PERIOD 1661-1722 The deep body with a short straight foot and a flaring rim, painted with a flowering crab apple tree growing amidst rocks and vegetation, the reverse with a poem reading qing xiang he su yu, jia se chu qing yan, followed by a seal reading shang ('to appreciate'), with a paper label to the centre, 6.7cm. Provenance: an English private collection, London, purchased from Sydney L Moss on 6th August 1957 for £30. A copy of the invoice is available. A RARE CHINESE SILVER AND GOLD INLAID IRON RUYI-SCEPTRE 16TH/17TH CENTURY The shaft decorated with seal script characters and geometric fylfot patterns, the head cast in relief as a lingzhi, with interlocking T-shaped designs to the edges, 73cm, 1.7kg. Provenance: from a Welsh private collection, acquired in Abergavenny in the 1950s. Cf. Two Chinese porcelain famille rose dishesthe first circular, with iron red Daoguang six character mark (1821-50) and of the period, decorated with chrysanthemums and peonies, the central roundel decorated with pomegranate, 5 7/8in. (15cm.) diameter; the second with underglaze blue seal mark to base, decorated with a trio of bats above double roundels amidst floral decoration, the center with pomegranate, a double concentric line on upper face and reverse rim, another above foot to base, 5 7/8in.
