Lot 906

A Chinese light purple glazed vase with slender neck, mould decorated with a dragon amongst clouds and backs, double ring mark to base, height 16cm, a similarly glazed incense burner modelled as a shishi dog, width 12.5cm, a further turquoise glazed shishi dog censor with detachable cover, height 13.5cm and a mid 20th century turquoise glazed circular pot with impressed archaistic style seal mark to the base, diameter 12.5cm (4). CONDITION REPORT: Incense burner has chips to the bottom rim of the cover. Crudely glazed. See additional images.

Lot 907

Two Chinese blanc de chine figures, one depicting a laughing Buddha seated on a ruyi sceptre, length 28cm, the other depicting an immortal holding a peach, on circular cloud base, impressed character seal mark to back, height 28cm (af) (2). CONDITION REPORT: The immortal has a loss to the lower part of the staff in his right hand, also some areas of crazing with surface dirt. Buddha has one minor loss or manufacturing imperfection to the one of the finials at the side of the sceptre, general surface dirt.

A late 19th/early 20th century Chinese porcelain bowl, painted in underglaze blue with two confronting dragons flanking a pearl of wisdom amongst clouds, diameter 24cm, a further bowl painted in underglaze blue with fish amongst water plants to the inside and with café au lait to the outside, diameter 10cm, both with differing four character marks to the bases, a smaller similar example, unmarked, a green incised enamel decorated bowl with square seal mark to the base, a similarly decorated rice cup and saucer and a Republic style hand painted cup cover/soy sauce bowl, diameter 10.5cm (6). CONDITION REPORT: The dragon bowl has several nibbles to the rim, Fish decorated bowl has a hairline crack spreading from the edge of the rim, an area to the edge of the base where is may have been slightly cut down to one side. Smaller brown glazed example appears to be good with a few areas of glazing imperfections to the upper part. The other three bowls appear to be in good condition with general wear commensurate with age.

Lot 916

Four Chinese shaped footed bowls with turquoise glaze to interior, each painted in enamels with floral sprays, with ornamental band to base, the largest of rectangular form with re-entered corners, 22 x 21cm, each bearing a character seal mark to base (4). CONDITION REPORT: General condition of each bowl is good. Three have some rubbing to inside turquoise glaze. Some firing imperfections and wear predominantly to base. Largest bowl has a chip to one side of rim and some rubbing to paint.

A group of eight Chinese porcelain footed bowls to include four turquoise glazed examples each painted in enamels with various scenes on scroll and floral grounds, the largest 17 x 12cm, also a quatrilobed example on circular base with character seal mark, 13.5 x 13.5cm, and a celadon glazed example painted to interior with carp amongst water plants, with crimped rim, diameter 13cm (8).

A CHINESE SONG-STYLE SCROLL PAINTING AFTER LIN CHUN, LATE QING DYNASTY Depicting a raptor above a rabbit and a melon vine, inscribed in seal script chun xi shu yuan dai zhao lin chun (Lin Chun, Painter in Waiting at the Chunxi Painting Academy), and with seven red seal marks, 137cm x 56cm. The Chunxi reign covers the period 1174-1189 during the Southern Song dynasty. The inscription is not a signature, but rather is intended to identify the source of the composition. Seal script was often used in such circumstances. Lin Chun, a native of Hangzhou, specialised in flower and bird subjects, including a handscroll of plants of the four seasons, dated 1178.
