Rusden, (stamp neatly removed with replacement stamp 1857 later added), n.p., n.d.; FitzRoy Somerset, 1st Baron Raglan (1788-1855), Commander of British troops in the Crimea. Franking signature on a cover addressed to Mrs Walpole in Swaffham, 1833; Duke of Wellington (1769-1852), British Prime Minister and Victor at Waterloo, complete Autograph envelope signed, with his initial "W" in the lower left corner. The envelope is hand addressed by Wellington to an address in France and is marked 'immediate' at the upper edge. With a Penny Red postage stamp and the red wax seal intact to the reverse; James Brudenell, 7th Earl of Cardigan (1797-1868), Lieutenant-General. Commander of the Light Brigade. Pair of Chinese blue and white porcelain saucer dishes, Qianlong seal mark and probably of the period, decorated with finely painted foliate patterns and ruyi borders, 12cm diameter. Provenance: gifted to the present owner by a private collector, Knightsbridge, LondonCondition report: Good condition. Very small hairline to the foot rim of one saucer.

Later his strong ties to Hawaii, commencing with his appointment to the Honolulu Academy of Arts as Research Associate for Ukiyo-e in 1959, led to them in 2003, after Lane's death, acquiring a substantial collection of Japanese, Chinese and Korean paintings, prints and rare books from his estate. 2) The Honolulu Museum of Art (formerly the Honolulu Academy of Arts), until their de-acquisition of some portions of the collection in 2018.
