A GOOD LARGE CHINESE POLISHED BRONZE TRIPOD CENSER, possibly 17th/18th Century, weighing 3.58Kg, the rim with double upright loop handles, the base with an unusual large seal mark suggesting the censer was made in the fifth year of Xuande by Wu Bangzuo, 9.6in wide at widest point & 4.4in high to rim & 5.7in high to top of handles & 7.9in diameter at rim & 6.8in diameter at inner rim.
Pair of Chinese cinnabar lacquer lobed vases and covers carved with figures and pavilions, gilt copper mounts, seal mark of Qianlong but later, height 29cm, together with a pair of stands. Condition report: Vase 1: gross weight 1611.6g, minor chips and one patch of base layer lacquer missing showing the copper body, cracking on the inside of the neck, height of vase without lid 22.5cm, width 18cm, detached label "Ralph M Chait Collection". Lid 1: gross weight 393.1g, the finial may have been re-attached, patch of re gilding and black re-painting underneath, minor chips and cracking, diameter 11cm. Vase 2: gross weight 1661.1g, height without lid 21.5cm, diameter 18cm, minor chips and small patches of missing base layer lacquer, some cracking on the inside of the neck. Lid 2: gross weight 391.2g, similar condition to Lid 1, diameter 11cm

CHIANG CHING-KUO: (1910-1988) Taiwanese Politician and leader of the Kuomintang. Succeeded his father, Generalissimo Chiang Kai-Shek, as Premier of the Republic of China 1972-78 and President 1878-88. Signed bold black ink piece, in Chinese characters, by Chiang Ching-Kuo, to a compliment printed card of the President of the Republic of China, also bearing to the front a blind embossed seal. Accompanied by the original envelope and typed letter from the Office of the President Republic of China, signed by the Director of First Bureau Chou Ying-Lung. EX £100-120
