A heavy Chinese patinated bronze bottle-shaped vase; decorated in high-relief with Chilong dragons, each with a bifid tail amongst stylised Lingzhi fungus, impressed reign seal-mark to underside; 37.5cm high CONDITION REPORT: We think this piece is probably late 19th Century although the piece is quite darkly patinated. Generally reasonable condition (see images) with no major problems noted. It is lighter on the underside around the foot on the main body to the outside. The dragons appear to be reasonably well cast, there are some minor scratches and colour variations mostly to the outside of the piece commensurate with age. See images.
BRUSH WASHER IS 13CM DIAMETER AND NOT 30CM An Oriental group of three comprising a 20th century glazed pottery fruit bowl (probably Japanese) decorated in a flowing naive style with trees and shrubs etc., impressed seal mark to underside; a Chinese duck-egg-blue glazed ceramic bottle-vase having tapering neck and ovoid body; a 19th century Chinese porcelain brush-washer/small dish, brightly hand-decorated in enamels with mythical beasts, brocade balls and stylised flower heads etc., within a yellow border and base, on short circular foot (hairline and restorations to brush washer). (The bowl 19.5cm in diameter, the vase 15.5cm high and the brush washer 30cm in diameter.)
A small early 20th century Chinese Satsuma vase and cover; very finely gilded and decorated with a lappet border around the shoulder, the baluster-shaped body with two vignettes of courtesans and two vertical panels of chrysanthemum, flower heads etc.; gilded and painted seal mark to underside; circular wooden stand, 8cm high CONDITION REPORT: There is a little gilt rubbing at the top of the lip of the jar and some glaze crazing to be expected commensurate with age and there is some gilt rubbing to the edge of the lip of the cover. Everything else appears to be in good order with no cracks, chips or reparations noted.
An 18th century Chinese porcelain tankard, later fixed with a scrolling pewter handle (10cm high); together with a Chinese porcelain bowl, the exterior rim decorated with a ruyi-style band above bats, fruits and a central Shou character, four-character red seal mark to base (12.5cm) diameter (2) CONDITION REPORT: The bowl is quite dirty inside with some discolouration that mostly rubs away. Appears to be in good general overall original condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines or restoration noted. The outside of the body appears bright and well painted and the foot also looks in good order.
