A CHINESE CARVED JADE BRUSH WASHER AND TWO SEALS. All pale in hue, the peach-shaped brush washer with carved pierced leafy branches, a seal stamp with a toad-like finial and another hollow seal or possibly a pendant with pierced top. The brush washer 5.6cm long and the seals 8cm long max. (3)The brush washer appears to have a very small crack, or possible inclusion to the edge of one leaf, minor wear overall. The seals/pendant with some slight wear at edges.

Comprising: a fish carved with scales, its mouth pierced for suspension, a rectangular pendant carved with a calligraphic seal, a quail in landscape below ruyi clouds and a light green pendant in the form of a vase carved with gourds and a butterfly, a seal to reverse. The fish 8cm long (3)The rectangular pendant with a very small chip to rim, some minor surface wear overall. Overall in good order.

Provenance: Prof Yan was introduced to the vendor in 1984 while teaching in China and over the course of the next two years, the scrolls were given to him by the artist. The vendor had it mounted on a scroll in Tianjin.

Gilt decoration to the exterior with dragons chasing flaming pearls amongst ruyi head clouds, with three lions mask medallions at each foot, all below a key fret band around the neck and floral scrolls around the rim and handles. With six-character seal mark of Qianlong to base in underglaze blue. On a carved wooden stand. Censer size 25cm x 18cm tall.Provenance: Property of a local family inherited from their grandfather, acquired pre 1930.Good overall condition with no signs of damage or repairs. No cracks or chips and no signs or repair. Minor wear to gilt in places with expected wear to interior from use and age. One filled crack to wooden stand.
