In the manner of Li Zhaodao (651-710) Silk and paper hanging scroll, depicting a mountain view with scholars to the foreground about to cross a bridge to a temple, with various artists and other seals including 'Southern Song Dynasty Lecture Hall', 'The new stamp of the history museum' and 'The double dragon seal', 134.5cm x 45cm Note: sold with the original receipt when purchased at the Shanghai Antique and Curios store, 03/131979, which states in Chinese that it was painted during the reign of Jiaqing (1795-1820) and sold to a foreigner for 500RMB at the time. Condition: Some folds to the paper and some marks and foxing mainly to the border.

Yan bolong,(1898-1955) The flowers and stones were painted by Boyi (Ma Jin, 1900-1970) The bamboos were painted by Yuanbai(Qi Gong,1912-2005) The moss and weeds were painted by Yuanliang (Zhou Yuanliang,1904.2-1995) They had all been combined by adapted by Shensheng (Want Shensheng,1896-1972) Seals from top to bottom seal No.1: Bailong, seal No.2:Ma Boyi , seal No.3:Yuanliang ,seal No.4:Shensheng seal No.5:YuanbaijushiProvenance: By direct descent of Katherine Talati. Born in 1922 in Beijing Katherine received private painting lessons with Prince Pu Quan, (great grandson of the Emperor Daoguang) from 1945 until her departure to London in 1948. Her paintings are evidence of her fully accomplished technical skills in Chinese painting after having studied with Pu Quan and various teachers in Beijing prior to her departure Notes: This scroll was painted as a gift for Katherine Talati by the artists mentioned above.Condition: Creasing, some foxing and very minor stains. Wear and creasing to the ribbon. Minimal display wear to the wooden ends of the scroll, consistent with age and use.
