Two Chinese famille rose teabowls, Late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) To include a Wu Shuang Pu (table of peerless heroes) example, of lobed form, rising from a high footring, painted with depiction of Xiang Yu and Cao E, and four lines of poetry after the original 17th Century wood cut prints, 5cm high, together with a Chinese 19th Century famille rose teabowl, Qianlong seal mark, painted with a white elephant and rockwork issuing chrysanthemum and lotus, 5cm high. (2) CONDITION REPORT: Wu Shuang Pu - Bowl Firing crack to interior wall, approx 16cm long minor wear to gilt at the upper rim 2nd Bowl Minor nibbles to the foot rim Minor scratching to interior wall Otherwise sound.
A Chinese polished bronze censer, Xuande seal mark (1426-1435), 19th Century Of bombe form, rising from a short splayed base and extending to a everted rim, flanked by short loop handles, the exterior with natural patination, cast mark to underside of base, 10cm high, 15cm diam. CONDITION REPORT: Lot 1048: Natural patination to the interior and exterior sides Minor scratching to the exterior sides Small crack to the upper rim, approx 1cm in length The interior well appears to have a lacquered finish possibly indicating it has be over painted Noticeable pitting tot the interior and exterior surface Small losses/pitting to the exterior surface Total weight 64.5oz
A Group of Five Chinese Famille Rose Cups and Saucers, Xianfeng seal mark and of the period (1851-1861), each with scholar, soldier or maiden flanked by inscriptions and poems, the saucers similarly decorated, the cups 7.7cm high, the saucers 15.3cm Cup and Saucer 1 - cup with no chips or cracks but some rubbing of enamels and the gilding. The saucer with three-limb star crack in base, otherwise good. Cup and Saucer 2 - serious crack with bifurcating end in wall of cup, otherwise good. Saucer good. Cup and Saucer 3 - both good, slight rubbing to the saucer gilding. Cup and Saucer 4 - both good Cup and Saucer 5 - crack from rim half way down wall of cup, otherwise good. Saucer good. 020615
