Four Chinese porcelain vases, late 20th century, including a pair with black ruyi head and pendants above the main body with polychrome enamel flowering peony decoration and seal marks to the reverse for Zhongguo Jingdezhen Zhi printed in green "Made in China", height 31.3 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The pair of vases are in good condition with no damage, repairs or restoration. There are no cracks. The top rims have lost all of the gilding however. The small vase is in good order with no condition issues. The single larger vase has had a break to the top lip and a section glued. There is some rubbing to the black pattern beneath the rim. Other than the damage to the lip the condition is good.
A Chinese Wucai bowl, 18th/19th century, decorated throughout with carnations and peony, the carnation petals being translucent, with underglazed blue and polychrome enamels heightened with gilding, with pseudo Qianlong seal mark. Width 11.5 cm, height 5 cm. A 19th century polychrome enamel rice bowl cover, decorated with a black and white cat on rockwork surrounded by blossoming flowers and with red Daoguang seal mark, 10 cm diameter (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The cover has a 1.5 cm long x 5 mm deep restoration to the rim. There are four small dark spots along the rim which look to be firing flaws. There is a very small chip to the exterior rim +/- 4 mm x 3 mm. On either side of the restored section there are two very fine hairline cracks within the glaze approximately 1 cm and 1.5 cm in length. The cover rings out when lightly tapped. The bowl has a very fine 3.5 cm hairline crack in the glaze running from the rim towards the foot. There is a very fine glaze chip on the exterior of the rim and two very small flea bite size nibbles to the rim. The enamels are in good condition throughout although there are a couple of small marks to the petals, but these are factory flaws and made in production. Please note that the cover and the bowl are two separate items, from two separate periods, it is just a happy coincidence that the cover fits the bowl.
A pair of Chinese handpainted vases, 20th century, depicting three scholars seated at a table beneath a tree decked with lanterns flanked by two figures painted in a red palette with black beards and hair, their robes with gilt decoration, pseudo six character Jiaqing seal mark in red. Height 31 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: One vase has cloud decoration to the top of the shoulder, one of these clouds has a 5 cm firing crack. The gilding to both vases around the rim has been rubbed but the majority is still intact. Both vases appear to be free from any post production chips, cracks or restorations and are generally in good order.
Two Chinese moon flasks, 19th century, one depicting exotic birds amongst peony and blossom and verso figures on foot and horseback against a yellow ground with lotus scroll and peach decoration, with Tongzhi red seal mark and applied collectors inventory No. 29, the other with a panel of a warring party and verso a peacock amongst peony and blossom all against a turquoise ground with lotus flower and peach decoration. Each height 25 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: On the yellow ground flask both Shi Shi handles have been broken off, restored and gilded. The gilding around the neck rim is rubbed and may have been overpainted at some point however not recently. The main body appears to be in good order and is free from any obvious faults. The blue ground moon flask appears to be in good order. There is a 2.5 cm firing crack on the interior of the neck but this is not visible from the exterior. The gilding around each panel is rubbed and partially erased. There are some very minor losses to some of the enamels but nothing that is instantly obvious. The Shi Shi both have the tip of their tails missing. There are no signs of any restorations to either.
A Chinese biscuit porcelain hexagonal vase, 19th century, the shoulder decorated with stiff leaves, the body with a relief moulded dragon amongst clouds and above waves, the sides with Buddhist symbols tied in ribbons all in a green, yellow and aubergine ground and with impressed Qianlong seal mark to the underside. Height 21 cm. CONDITION REPORT: There is a dark green band around the rim which is disguising restoration. On close inspection it would appear that the uppermost side panel rim has been restored which has overlapped onto the panel to the front and behind it. The remainder of the green banding looks to have been applied in order to make the item uniform. The remainder of the vase appears to be in good order throughout.
A Chinese porcelain figure of Hotei, 20th century, modelled seated with is sack of treasures with young boys clambering around him, relief moulded seal mark to underside for "Jiangxi, You Long Sheng, Jingdezheng". Height 25.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The head of the child seated top left when facing the Buddha has been broken off at the neck and professionally restored. Other than this the item appears to be free from any further chips, cracks or other restorations.

A Chinese porcelain double gourd vase in turquoise crackle glaze with painted decoration in the vine and gourd pattern in white, Daoguang six-character seal mark and period (1821-1850), with paper label for 'D&S Howles Collection' No.268 to base, on zitan wood stand, height 27.5cm. CONDITION REPORT Craquelure to the glaze throughout, though no obvious signs of significant damage or repair.Please note that we would be unable to ship the zitan wood base to China, due to it being a protected species in that country.

VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Damage to lids and losses. Very dirty and worn. Dinks and dents to overlay but appearing complete.
