An 18th century Chinese Export porcelain flared cylinder vase, painted in polychrome enamels with traditional figures in a garden, within foliate scroll reserves painted in underglaze blue, flanked by peonies, 13cm high, Qianlong reign, c. 1760; an 18th century Chinese porcelain circular plate, typically painted in underglaze blue, 23.5cm diam, Qianlong reign, c.1770; a 19th century Chinese porcelain flared bowl, painted in underglaze blue with honeysuckle, picked out in colourful polychrome conforming and with carp, pine and blossom, 5.5cm high, 13cm diam, underglaze blue seal mark (faults); a 19th century Chinese famille rose baluster vase, painted in the typical manner, the neck and shoulder modelled with ferocious dragons, 20cm high, Canton, c.1870 (4) Condition Report: This lot is in good condition, restoration to the bowl and chips to the vase. A Chinese Republic era baluster vase in the Famille Rose palette, painted in enamels, floral body with peonies, chrysanthemums, prunus blossom, irises and other flora, with vignettes to either side, one with celebrator figural and landscape decoration and ducks in water with bamboo and peonies, two concentric circles to the base and red seal mark, height approx 39cm.
A group of five late 19th early 20th century Chinese blue and white plates and a bowl, all with painted naive foliate and leaf decoration, various blue marks to base, diameter of largest 19cm, and a similar period blue and white bowl with blue mark to base and partial red seal mark, diameter 18cm (6).
A small Taisho period Japanese ivory pot and cover, signed to the front and with Oriental veduta, a carved soapstone brush pot and a 20th century miniature Japanese Satsuma baluster vase and a 19th century Chinese Canton plate decorated with birds, butterflies and flowers with underglaze blue seal mark to the base, diameter 18.5cm (4).
A Chinese porcelain vase, late 20th century, decorated with a fanciful bird on rockwork with peony, red seal type mark Jingdezhen Zhi, a miniature vase and cover decorated with double Shou, bats and peony, a further vase with a screw top with Wan Shou Wu Jiang characters, a turquoise ground vase ginger jar and a Chinese polished hardstone and celadon jardiniere, all late 20th century. Tallest 24 cm, smallest 9.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The cover to the ginger jar has been broken in two and glued. All other vases are in good decorative order. The polished stone plant is in generally good order with only a very few chips to the leaves. Some of the stamen are missing from the flowers but otherwise in good order.
A Chinese hand painted fan, mid 20th century, the carved bats decorated with a deer amongst blossoming prunus, the other with cranes, the fan decorated with flowers and butterflies with inscriptions to both sides, a fine needlepoint embroidered fan case, decorated with bats and insects housing a plain bamboo fan with red seal mark and a small sandalwood fan. CONDITION REPORT: The dark bamboo fan appears to have no tears but has slight wear, creases and small nicks along the edges from use, there also appears to be some signs of mould between the bats, but it works perfectly. The light coloured and carved bamboo fan appears to be in good order throughout with no obvious faults although the cream ground is slightly more off coloured. The small sandalwood fan appears to be in good order throughout with no obvious faults. The embroidered fan case appears to be in good order throughout with no obvious faults.
A Chinese blue and white vase and cover, early 18th century, the shallow domed cover with ball knop decorated with butterflies, prunus and lingzhi, the tall neck similar and with a shoulder of prunus blossom and lozenge shells with four cartouche depicting a mountainous landscape, bamboo leaves, fir tree and prunus, the inverted baluster body with long tailed birds amongst peony and branches all above a stiff leaf base, under glaze blue hand painted seal mark for Quangshi (1662-1722). 46.5 cm high.
A Chinese bottle vase, early to mid 20th century, in famille rose pattern, the body depicting young boys in a garden exterior holding aloft small parcels and verso a poem with red seal marks, all between Ruyi head and false gadrooned borders, four character red Qianlong mark. Height 29 cm. Together with two Chinese ginger jars, one with a cover, mark for Jingxi Jingdezhen Min Ci and Zhangguo Jingdezhen Zhi. 15.5 cm and 10.5 cm respectively (see illustration).
