Modelled porcelain, with a short circular foot on which rests a deep body with a curved profile, widening towards the mouth. It is decorated with underglaze blue and overglaze red enamels, set on a pure white background. Inside is a central medallion framed by a double blue circle, depicting a wise old man accompanied by a beautiful deer against a background of crashing waves. The exterior shows a continuous scene with the same background of red waves, on which stand the Eight Immortals, richly robed and bearing their distinctive attributes, or An Baxian, some of them. At the base is a six-character seal ‘??????’ in underglaze blue. The Eight Immortals are deities from Chinese mythology who are believed to have existed in earthly form, and dedicated their lives to the pursuit of immortality, which they attained through the Tao. One of the vases with birds has a number of cracks. The other bird vase is in good condition with general wear and tear commensurate with age and use. The vase with women in a garden has a crack to the rim and inside neck and one to base. Please inspect the additional photos.
A similar pair of Chinese pots depicting figures in garden and two fishing, pierced necks and blue seal marks to base, 14 cm, another showing figures relaxing in garden, also a famille jaune tea pot and jar, (5). One of the pots has an error to the collar decoration. One of the tops has loses and both other pots have a few minor firing faults. The teapot has a crack to the handle and other possible repairs.
