A Chinese porcelain vase Decorated with figural vignettes within floral sprays interspersed with precious objects, the shoulders with applied dragons and pearl, red painted six character seal mark to base, standing on a carved hardwood stand. The vase 37 cms high. CONDITION REPORTS: Generally in good condition, expected wear, some rubbing to enamels, previously drilled for electricity with associated loss, stand probably associated.

A letter from Chinese Taiping Tianguo emperor Hong Xiu Quan, circa 1860, partly written in his own hand, the remainder written by an officer in his guard, in black ink on thin yellow paper, the content expressing gratitude for help received during conflict, stamped in red ink with the official wooden dragon seal of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom and another circular seal, 106cm long Provenance: The letter was brought back from China by Captain H Lloyd of the Montgomeryshire Yeomanry who served as Aide de Camp to Major General Charles 'Chinese' Gordon in China during the time of the Taiping Rebellion.
Ten Chinese Government £100 Reorganisation Gold Loan bonds of 1913, blue printed and with red Chinese seal marks by Waterlow & Sons Limited, the two sheet bonds bound with blue linen ribbon, each has a few coupons clipped away; although a bit grubby the collection has been kept dry, most are annotated in pencil "UD".
