LATE 19TH CENTURY CHINESE BULB POT,decorated in underglaze blue with insets to top and blooms of chrysanthemum, prunus, peony and lotus to body, partial seal to base, 7cm high, the top 11 x 10.7cmSome splitting to inside corners (pictured), but do not show on exterior. Some very light surface wear in keeping with age and use, and grime to interior. Wax seal residue to base. Minute chip to one corner. Some firing imperfections present, per original manufacture.Additional images available.
A CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE 'WU SHUANG PU' CUP AND COVER, adorned in famille rose enamels with heroes of ‘The Table of the Peerless Heroes’, also known as Wu Shuang Pu, amongst them, as well as with calligraphies, bears an iron-red seal mark, 11.5cm diameter; together with A SIMILARLY DECORATED BOWL, bears an iron-red seal mark, 12.5cm diameter. (3)Note: This decor would have been made after a book, ‘The Table of Peerless Heroes’, also known as ‘Wu Shuang Pu’ (無雙譜) first published in 1694 and illustrated Jin Shi (金史, c.1625-1695)CONDITION REPORTLight wear to the enamel of the cup and cover, the rims to both slightly taken colour. The associated bowl with farily heavy rubbing to the enamel. No noted hairlines or damage noted to pieces.
A 19th century Japanese blue and white cup, 7.5cm high, and saucer 14cm diameter, decorated with panels of flowers; a Chinese small pot in Guangxu style, 7.5cm highFading to gilt and decoration throughout commensurate with age and use. The saucer has minor chipping to the rim. The cup is in overall good condition. The Guangxu style pot has had restoartion to the paint on the rim - the key stone pattern and the base. There is loss to part of the seal.
