A 19th century Chinese Yixing pottery ‘tree trunk’ brush pot and three similar teapots, tallest 15cm. Condition - fair to good Largest teapot dirty and stained inside and out but structurally good. Second-largest teapot small chip to underside of footrim, not serious; cover with two very small corner-chips; similarly dirty and stained. Smallest teapot tip of spout grazed; cover good. Brush pot two shallow chips to underside of footrim; impressed seal mark.
An interesting Japanese celebratory flag, Shōwa Period, possibly for the 'Japan-Taiwan Friendship Society' decorated with two Fenghuang (Hō-ō) birds supporting a roundel with Japanese script on a blue field with gilt fringe and mounts, the reverse with inscription. This appears to partially translate ‘Dojo Development Commission, Founding Anniversary, Shofusho, Dodocho, Aomori City’ framed and glazed, 140cm x 74cm Please note the description of this lot has been updated following helpful remarks by a client. A Worcester late 18th century porcelain plate decorated in exotic birds, possibly in the workshop of James Giles, pseudo Chinese seal mark to base, diameter 23cm.Condition:- There is evidence of crazing lines but the plate rings true when struck, all the way round. The gilding has faded particularly around the rim
Large pair of Chinese blue and white vases, painted with peacocks and peonies, craquelure white ground, incised seal mark, 46cm.Qty: 2Condition report:One vase has multiple chips to the exterior rim, with one large chip being approximately 2cm x 2cm. The second vase has fewer chips to the exterior rim. No other evident damages elsewhere on either vase. The craquelure glaze has resulted in some very dark ingrained lines which could have travelled into the body of the vases (and be considered hairlines) but very difficult to say for certain.
